Lo and behold Monday morning, I received lab results, knew which prescription to pick up after the workday, and what to do with it and within a particular time duration. Upon arrival, the front desk receptionist greeted us with an attitude that made it seem as though we were inconveniencing her. In contrast, the nurses were very kind, professional, and considerate throughout the visit. Dr. Ong examined my wrist and recommended X-rays. After the X-rays confirmed there were no fractures, he advised me to ice the injury and stated that he would prescribe a pain reliever and an ointment for the burns and abrasions. What was concerning, however, was that Dr. Ong appeared ready to discharge me after a $350+ visit without cleaning the wounds, applying any ointment, or dressing the injury. My wife had to specifically ask whether he planned to treat the burns and cuts before sending me home. "Oh..yeah, I can do that" was his response.  The experience became even more frustrating the following day when I went to the pharmacy and was informed that only one of the two prescriptions had been received. I called the clinic and was immediately placed on hold. After waiting for 20 minutes without assistance, I decided to drive back to the clinic in person (less than 1 mile away from pharmacy). When I arrived, the receptionist who had placed me on hold was sitting at the front desk looking at her personal cell phone. After speaking with Dr. Ong and explaining that the pharmacy had only received one prescription, he simply stated that he had forgotten to send the second one. Overall, I found the level of care, attention to detail, and customer service disappointing. While the nursing staff was excellent, the experience with both the physician and front desk staff left much to be desired.

I was diagnosed with a viral upper respiratory infection and was only advised to use over-the-counter remedies like Tylenol, throat spray, and Flonase. Unfortunately, my symptoms continued to worsen over the next few days. By the time I decided to go to AFC Urgent Care, my condition had progressed significantly. The congestion had moved into my chest, I was experiencing severe coughing fits that made it difficult to breathe deeply, my body was extremely achy and lethargic, and I had developed wheezing and what felt like bronchitis. From the moment I walked in, the team at AFC took my symptoms seriously and addressed every concern with care and urgency. Because my blood pressure was elevated, they even performed an EKG to rule out any heart issues. They also ordered a chest X-ray to make sure I didn't have pneumonia since my lungs sounded concerning and I was wheezing. They treated me immediately with a steroid shot in the office and sent me home with a comprehensive treatment plan that included a steroid pack, a Z-Pak antibiotic, an inhaler, and prescription cough syrup to help with the severe coughing and difficulty sleeping. What stood out most was how every single person I interacted with -- from the front desk staff to the nurse practitioner -- treated me with genuine compassion and professionalism. They listened, thoroughly assessed my condition, and made me feel truly cared for. I left feeling confident that my concerns had been taken seriously and that I was on the right path to recovery. Thanks to their prompt and thoughtful care, I'm now improving and finally on the mend. I've been to this AFC location several times over the years and have always had great experiences. I recently moved and tried a closer urgent care clinic, but after that experience I will gladly drive the extra 10 minutes to come back here.
