A massive let down. Amazing she'd like complex with wine, cafe and bakery great decor but the toast and peanut butter that was home made was very average! Toast appeared not to be toasted at all and was cold and off cuts of bread! Peanut butter had no zing to it and the coffees very ordinary. Sadly had to use bathroom only to find men's in adjoining section in filthy state from what appears night before. A real let down. read more

Had lunch here a few days ago and absolutely loved it! They bake bread & sell it, they roast coffee for the cafe & for sale, bottle wine & also have a huge dining area with the kitchen. The space is absolutely gorgeous, they have done a lot with an "old shed"... Would highly recommend a trip out here! Only had a salami panini as we didn't have much time, but it was delicious and fresh. All the sweet treats in the cabinet looks amazing, if only we had time to try one! read more

I was really excited to try the Epicurean. The menu looked interesting, most reviews were positive so we thought we would give it a try. It was hectic when we got there. So we joined a communal table. The environment was pleasant and the setting homely comfortable. The wall of breads and pastry cabinet were tantalisingly appetising. Our mouths were watering from hunger and temptation. We sat and waited for the waitress to take our order but after 20 minutes of being ignored I went up and ordered at the counter. Given how busy it was I wasn't overly fussed and ordered a chocolate chip muffin to tie us over. The muffin was dry and lacked flavour all in all disappointing. One of the other waiters noticed we didn't like it and gave us an escargot to apologise. It was ok but nothing to write home about. After waiting for another 30 min our meals finally arrived and to say they left a lot to be desired is an understatement. The bread was paper thin and and toasted to a cruskit like consistency. It was disappointing as other diners near us had dishes with thickly cut toast. My avocado ricotta mash was also lacking ricotta. The manager was highly apologetic and gave us our meals on the house which is the only reason they are not getting a 1 star review. I doubt I would go back. read more

When you venture outside of the city a couple of things happen. You can either be blown away with the quality of regional produce on offer or be led astray with the country roadhouse style of food that seems to infiltrate a lot of cafes outside the 'burbs. I was so pleased to find the Epicurean after a few wine tastings. It has fantastic food in the cafe section and the wood-fired pizza on offer looked delicious too. If I had to compare it to something, it'd be like taking one of your favourite inner citty CBD haunts and putting it in the country. The food on offer was fresh, the sweets were super tasty and coffee gets a big tick. Looks quite unassuming from the outside, what with the open roads and lack of pedestrians, but this is where they're hiding...! read more

After attempting several times to try this restaurant we finally got a table on Sunday for lunch. First tip arrive right on 12pm when they open as no bookings can be made its best to arrive at opening time. We weren't the only ones to follow this tip as there was a line upon arrival but our group of 5 were seated quickly at a bench seat with another couple. Share tables are common here. There seems to be tables available for 4 or otherwise larger groups and if you're a group of an in between size like us be prepared to share with others! Table service is available (plus) although service was slow and we were required to follow up the whereabouts of a few of our ordered items. Luckily we weren't in a rush so this didnt phase us too much. I now understand why they don't turn tables over quickly. Given the restaurant is full at 12pm the wait staff struggle to keep up with demand and are run off their feet We ordered the chefs salumi platter with the homemade breads to share as a starter. As a bread lover I couldn't get enough of the freshness and texture of the bread. We followed with pizzas to share over a bottle of Shiraz. The pizza menu had interesting choices of toppings - sweet potato and pork sausage had to be the highlight. They were delicious and surprisingly large sized for gourmet pizzas. Only disappointment there was no gluten free option and we had two gluten intolerant diners in our group. For dessert we chose the winter warmer berry compote and the sweet pizza. We felt the sweet pizza lacked flavour but the fruit and berries were perfect for a cold winters day. All food was fresh, locally produced and of high quality. Would definitely visit again and would like to try the main meals next time. Only hope they implement gluten free options quickly and start taking bookings!! read more

Went there to check it out took wife and kids to restaurant. Well highly disappointed the menu was poor for kids.took 20 mins for drinks to arrive and just under a hour our meal arrives and wait for it, 3 out of 4 meals yes that's right Then 20 mins before our last meal appears. No apology,not even any communication to let us no what was going on. The worst part is it was off season,god help them in summer and I forgot to mention all there meat was brought in the city and now local produce when we have the best butcher in the area best organic fruit grown on the hill but just like any non supportive restaurant buy cheap,but our produce is as cheap as anywhere else and if u say local produce it all should be local not just olives and beer that are over priced anyway !! Not happy and I'm spreading the word, not going back.I know a lot of people that think the same, as I'm passing it on sad that a nice decor, bad staff and bad food and false about there local produce claim. How they got a 300 seat restaurant with 25 car parks on there land ,well who knows I no I couldn't , I'm a local resident and I no I couldn't do that.
