Also, an excellent place for apperitivo--delicious snacks like stuffed zucchini paired with a well-balanced aperol spritz, a great tie-over until dinner. They also have a limited selection of good quality beers. I've been here a few times, and it's always been a great experience. Even when they were handling ~120 customers at once (a group of us heading to an event on a bus) they made every coffee and cappuccino with care and a smile. I've enjoyed my stops here and will be back the next time I'm in Savona.

For a longer walk you should head to this boardwalk, the Lungomare. You can start in the south from the peninsula or just from the south end of the old town - by the impressive Chiesa Madre di Santa Maria di Nazareth. It's a nice and long walk going north. Passing lots of beach restaurants, kiosks and stalls. Nicely lined with trees, small parks along the way and lots of benches to rest your legs and watch the world go by. Wonderful ocean view all the way. It's a popular thing to do. But the promenade is long and wide enough, so it never felt too crowded (on a sunny day in April). The Parcheggio Sturla is a great option to park your car. Just by the promenade, but with only few cars (again: in April). If you feel like walking, you could even walk the whole way along the ocean up until the next town! It's a really pretty town, this one. And the walk along the ocean is perfect way to spend some time.

We love seafood, but this wasn't it. For the mains we chose the Pesto Gnocchi and Shrimp Risotto. The Gnocchi were pretty good, the Pesto was ok. The shrimp in the Risotto were really nice, but the rice for our likings a bit overcooked - we do enjoy a bit more bite. The wine was nice though. Pigato is always a good choice. The food was a bit on the disappointing side then. We had higher expectations, and this town has so many choices of restaurants. Not sure it was a slow day or we were just a bit unlucky that day. The reviews are very good - but not our experience. That said, I have to point out that our waiter was fantastic. A really nice guy, took care of us very nicely. That was really great. And the prices are fair too.

We tried another place on our last day - but didn't come close to this place. Surely will go back next spring when we're back in town. Highly recommended!
