Working with the Deacon to organize the mass goes smoothly and our family needs are met. The music ministers are wonderful and very talented. Don't forget to check the rectory hours when you need to go into the office. They are closed for lunch. Mass is at noon so go in and get your business done before mass because they'll be at lunch when mass is over. I appreciate that having a mass said for a family member or friend is still only $10 and there are always several masses to choose from. The office staff is so friendly and helpful.

Pastor Scott is so friendly and personable, and his wife is present and just as involved as he is. He is so humble and open and speaks to us as we are having a one on one conversation. Everyone in this church is right there with you, walking along side you. The worship team is amazing, and singing as a congregation is heart warming and soul filling. There is a live stream if you can't make it in person, and is ASL friendly. There is also a "break out room" in case you need to step away, but don't want to miss out on the service. When you are at South Valley, God is with you and you feel the love so whole heartedly. I walk away every Sunday feeling full of God's love and grace.

This church was/is so active in the community, it was hard to be somewhere that they weren't serving! They're at the parades, festivals, Friday night farmer's market... everywhere! Still, I was afraid to go because I thought that "Foursquare" meant a more charismatic environment that required cartwheels and all of the showy displays of "faith" that have made me uncomfortable at other places in the past. I don't remember exactly how, but finally I saw these people so much and they seemed normal enough, that I consented to trying it out one Sunday. My impressions are: 1 they are normal people who are learning, loving, and serving God by being his hands and feet 2 Pastor Bernie is teaching the truth. No fire and brimstone scare tactics. No messages of judgement. Also not the trendy motivational speaking type of new age sermons. It is balanced and compassionate and I believe that is how it should be. 3 the sanctuary doesn't feel heavy and imposing and the feeling of being there is not of judgement. You aren't pressured to be on show to wear your biggest hat or your wrinkle free khakis. You can come as you are and you will be welcomed. 4 the music at the church is great! The worship team presents different types of sounds. Sometimes, it's 3 or 4 singers, sometimes a choir, sometimes it's rock, sometimes it's country style hymns. 5 the children's ministry is awesome. The community outreach is amazing. They do an annual harvest festival to provide a safe and fun evening for kids on Halloween, we had a great time at the snow day, and throughout the rest of the year, they are holding events open to the community. There's a ministry that goes to visit the convalescent center and another for the coffee shop where you can watch the service and another to celebrate recovery. There's a ministry for everyone to serve and be served through 6 this church really does look for ways to bless others. They have a heart for God and when he speaks, they listen and respond 7 I'm not sure why I was so scared to walk into this church because it is a gem. When you're faced with needing to find a church home, this is the kind of place that you hope to find, a place that is not about putting on airs. A place that is filled with people who are are filled with the Spirit. I'm so glad that we finally came and I hope that we will be able to enjoy many more years here!

For the last 4 months I have tried to find a church. I tried over half a dozen churches many of which were recommended by co-workers or Yelp. The churches I went to were either too exclusive, predominately older in age, or not very warm and welcoming. However, this was a different church. The warm welcoming committee drew me in. Even though it was raining they all had smiles and were very excited that a newcomer (myself) had found their church. Upon walking in, the church lights were off with side purple and blue lights on. It was a medium size congregation (100+) which was predominately youth with young adults and families with small children. The perfect demographic for me. They had a live band play modern Christian praise and worship. Good topic focused message with supporting verses with a very passionate pastor. One con was that service is a bit long (2hours) starting at 11am. However, I was told today was a special long service. Overall, I wish I knew about this church 4 months ago. It's a great church passionate about Jesus. Has a great youth/Sunday school program with cell Groups (small groups) that meet weekly and do life together. Though I knew no one walking in, the people who welcomed me during the beginning of the service found me and introduced me to her cell group leader. That's when I knew this is my new church home.
