21st March, 2026 To…read morewhom it may concern, I wish to express my strongest recommendation for using Sergio Francia's painting service. As a Colorado resident, our homes need protection from the especially harsh UV sunlight we experience. My wife and I were several years past due in painting our home resulting in a number of issues. We had sun damaged paint, nails falling out of our siding, deep door scratches from our dog, and exposed and cracked wood trim in the soffits and around the windows. Therefore we called 13 painting companies and received 7 bids. Our criteria was simple. We wanted an established company, with local ownership, willing to take the time necessary to repair and paint our home, using quality craftsmanship and materials. We also insisted that all painting quotes include Sherwin William "Emerald Rain Refresh Exterior Acrylic Latex Paint", which as we discovered is the best exterior paint Sherwin Williams makes. Sergio and Juan Francia took the time to explain how they would complete the repairs and stated their preparation work would take their team 2-3 days before they could begin to paint. They also stated they would only use Sherwin Williams Paint, Sherwin Williams 850A (45 year) caulk and Sherwin Williams primer. They fixed our siding, repair damaged wood, caulked all the seams and sealed everything prior to applying paint. True to their word, Sergio, Juan and Jose, transformed our home. They took their time, they wisely recommended that we apply a third coat of paint to get the best end results on the most sun exposed surfaces. They treated our house like it was their own. I am both humbled and appreciative for all they have done for us. I end this with the following advise. Your home is your biggest asset and investment. DO NOT cut corners trying to get it painted or you will end up repainting it time and time again. Please hire professionals who take the time, care and craftsmanship to do it right the first time. I met with 4 other companies and every time I spoke with the others it became more clear why Francia's Painting was the right one to go with. My experience with Francia's Painting was top notch in all aspects. Communication was very consistent, pricing was competitive, and their attention to detail was something I've never seen before. My house was certainly not an easy job, because I had damaged and peeling siding which required a ton of prep work but Sergio assured me that him and his team can get the job done with ease and they delivered on their promise. Like any other project there were some complications that occurred but they always went above and beyond to provide the best customer experience. (And you can save yourself the time of reading my review by just looking at the photos.) Sterling was able to schedule me the same week I called for drywall repair (now I know why). I only needed him to fix a small wall dent and fill multiple nail holes from wall art, which I could have done myself, but I was busy packing up the house. I was optimistic at first because Sterling showed up on time and was very friendly and talkative. I wanted to get other things done while he worked, so I pre-marked all of the repair areas with tape. But instead of just getting to work on his own, Sterling insisted that I point out each nail hole and watch while he applied large amount of mud/joint compound to the tiny holes. It seemed like overkill, but I trusted his much espoused "expertise." I was so distracted by his constant talking that I missed the fact many of the holes weren't filled at all. Here's the crazy part, Sterling then hauled out his industrial texture sprayer and proceeded to blast the tiny nail holes with huge patches of texture. No measures to protect the adjacent walls, trim, baseboards, and flooring were taken--anything within a five foot radius was fair game. And since many of the holes were still open after the mud, he just over sprayed them massive amounts of texture. Dear readers, this is the most shameful part of my experience--I actually helped him wreck my own walls. He couldn't lift his air compressor up and down the stairs on his own, so I had to stay with him and help him lift it. He also asked me to fetch my own heavy ladder from the garage because he (a wall repairman) didn't bring one. So, everyone, I actually watched this massacre first hand. I honestly thought he knew better than I did as a professional contractor, but he constantly talks as a distraction so that you don't speak up despite the sick feeling in the pit of your stomach. It really is a complete con. All this to say that I had a huge mess to clean up and lots of repainting to do--and I was only charged $900 for the trouble (I guess there was no discount for assisting him with the work :-). Seriously, RUN from this business, people. Not only does Sterling exhibit serious signs of senescence, both mentally and physically, he only cares about getting paid as I got the impression that he's in dire financial straits. I actually cancelled the check I gave him after I gathered my wits about me. When I called him to discuss how badly the repairs looked after painting them, he offered to come back out fix them so he could get his money. OVER MY DEAD BODY, readers, would I let this man get near my home again. We finally agreed that I would pay him $600 for this disaster, and I told him that I would thank him with an honest review. . .
