Avoid property manager Mary Bell. I do not write negative reviews but unfortunately this will have to be a negative one. She is very rude and unprofessional I do not know how she is still employed because she already has many negative reviews on YELP. I was renting one of the properties she manages for 3 years and every time a maintenance request was submitted she would take up to 2 weeks to respond and up to a month to send someone to fix the issue. I was never behind on rent and considered myself a great tenant. I had an issue with the boiler and was left with no hot water during the winter for almost a month. Another issue was when our washer started leaking water so I stopped using it and automatically contacted her and submitted a maintenance request she took almost a month to send someone to fix the washer which was very inconvenient because I had to go to the laundromat until the washer was fixed. At the end of our lease when we had to conduct an exit walk through she tried to amend the lease contract by trying to set her own rules about how everything needed to be done. On our lease agreement it stated that we needed to contact the property manager to get the correct paint color for the home so we can do our own touch ups and that is exactly what we did. She provided us with a screenshot of the paint color/name via text so that exact paint color was purchased. When she did the exit walk through she automatically stated that it was the incorrect color and that she never provided me with the name of the paint. I proceeded to show her the text message she sent and she stated that I was "trying to set her up" because she never texted that even though I showed her previous conversations that I already had with her with the same phone number. I was in shock that someone in a professional field would even think to say that. I have never been treated so poorly nor disrespected by someone the way she did. These people claim to be great property managers but don't let them fool you. They move anybody into your home and do nothing when the neighbors complain. The people who they moved into a house across my alley. The have spot lights in the back yard that shine right into my house every night. They turn on the lights at 6 at night and turn them off at 2 in the morning. Ive called Matt fisher ERA 3 times in the last week and the lights are still on every night. Now I have to call the police every night to get these inconsiderate neighbors that this awful company rented to, to turn off the lights. If this is how they handle a rental business I can just see how they screw up selling and buying houses. Property Management is anything but Stellar. We Contracted ERA to manage our Home in Yuma, AZ and we thought they were doing their job. Little did we know that they weren't until the Tenants moved out and the Property Manager decided not to renew contract. We had a family emergency in NY, so we told the Property Manager to tend to the move out. She proceeded to return the deposit to the tenants and said a few things needed repaired. To our dismay when returned to check out the damage the property is in total disarray, un rentable. The yard is full of weeds, our grass was GONE, Plants, trees and shrubs DEAD. Irrigation system non-functional. Shed full of tenant's property/garbage and the door is broken. All the screens to the home need to be replaced, they didn't even close the doggie door so vermin could get in. Brick work in the front of the house broken and in need of replacement. This is just the outside. Inside is worse. Both Tubs have broken faucets, missing stoppers and dirty. ALL the storm windows are broken. Sprayer for the kitchen sink broken. Broken Fan, all the blinds are broken, Carpet torn up, and the house was not cleaned. An estimated 15K to resolve all issues. Attempts to contact the property Manager has been greeted with Silence. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM FOR YOUR PROPERTY MANAGEMENT NEEDS. I have before and after pictures and you can see the difference. I understand wear and tear, but destruction is unacceptable. I would not even recommend this realty company! So many better ones! Do not respond when trying to get scratched appliances replaced. Cement is Cracking. Kitchen Floor tile buckling and ceiling is cracking! That's what I want in a home. You guys should be ashamed for the inferior product your pawning off as homes and the sellers who have little to no knowledge of what they are selling! Second time buying a home, but in a different state. Let me tell you, Zach Snyder with ERA Matt Fischer Realty has made this experience SO EASY and SO SEAMLESS! We're currently in Alaska, visited Yuma over the summer, Zach showed us some homes, now we just closed on a house today! Handling this process from thousands of miles away, Zach, being so responsive, informative, professional and just all around a good guy, he has made it very worry free. He definitely works for YOU, and shows that through his actions in taking initiative and gathering information. Communication was key during this process. We had absolutely no communication breakdown with having Zach as our buyer's agent. Texting, phone calls and emails, he's there for his client. I highly recommend you work with Zach at ERA Matt Fischer Realty. Prior to reaching out to ERA Matt FIscher, I had been TRYING to work with Long Realty. Had absolutely NO luck. Very seldom would anyone respond to my emails. I'm certain we would not have been able to close on a house let alone get the one we want, had we stuck with Long. Not impressed at all. Our Agent for our rental, Mary Bell, is very S L O W in responding to requests. She even had the nerve to tell me she does not respond to emails or requests on the weekend. I continually will send requests, especially for the pesky problem of termites in Yuma, and dead silence. Never came to the home we rented to make sure it was clean or if we needed anything. There were lightbulbs out, blinds that were broken and the carpet didn't seem cleaned and YET, the rental agreement states we are responsible. Even when we renewed, we have yet to receive a new agreement...even when I requested more than 5 times for a new one. Yuma, you are a town that operates like a third-world city and your agents and customer service duplicate that feeling. I cannot wait to move out of this godforsaken town and home! read more

I recently purchased my home through ERA, my realtor was Paul Cunningham and his assistant Anna. I have to say they worked so hard for me to be completely satisfied. They found me my dream home and made it close. Even though I had hiccups through my lender they helped me even after hours and weekends to make sure I was completely comfortable and satisfied. We worked with Jonna Ethington to get our property sold after we moved away, based on a recommendation from our property manager. To say we had a horrible experience would be an understatement. She was unresponsive (didn't respond to emails in a timely manner and rarely returned phone calls), and provided almost no feedback about steps we could take to make the property more attractive. We had to ask her several times to post pictures of the property on Zillow and Trulia, and when she finally did post one, it was a sideways picture taken from inside her car window. Her only recommendation was to get the interior painted, and when she gave us the invoice for the contractor, we noticed he had the same last name as her. 5 months into our 6 month contract (meanwhile, we were paying 2 mortgages waiting for her to get it sold) we asked to be released from our contract, only to be denied in spite of their unacceptable performance. We made several attempts to contact ERA's management, Michael Hall, but he refused to take our phone calls and wouldn't even respond to our emails. After our 6 month contract was up and literally NO progress was made, we switched to Century 21 and our awesome agent, Jennifer Undine had our property sold in 6 weeks. She immediately set to work to improve our property, took and posted great photos, and was extremely motivated and responsive. The lack of professionalism we experienced with Matt Fischer was absolutely shocking to us, and caused for a very stressful year for us. We would NEVER recommend them. read more

Single parent military rented a house after returning from another deployment. Mary Bell took me for every penny she could on the move out process. I would definitely recommend looking at any other Property Management Agency before coming here. If her job was to take as much money from the renter as possible, she is fantastic. I wonder if things would be any different with buyers? How she is still affiliated with the "Yuma's Best Real Estate Agency" is shocking. Will update after I speak with the MCAS Yuma Command Deck. We have used ERA for property management for 4 years now and were completely unaware of any problems actually happening with our house back in Yuma. We are currently stationed on the East Coast so do not make trips back and were hoping we had a good property management company to take care of our investment for us, which is what we pay them for. They did a terrible job as our tenant found our names on some papers in the house and contacted us via Facebook to let us know what really was going on. Turns out our property manager Mary Bell was not doing walk thrus when tenants moved out and was not there for new tenants who were moving in to do walk thrus with. She did not pass on crucial information to our tenants that they needed to know and was not getting maintenance help in a timely manner or letting our tenants know what was going on. She waited quite a while to get back to us about issues going on with the house and even then she was very vague. Our house is an investment that we did not feel was being looked after to the best of her ability and because of that cost us a lot of money at one time and gave our tenants a horrible first 2 week experience at a new duty station. I would not recommend Mary Bell or any other person at ERA to help with any property management needs. We are firing her ASAP!!! read more

Oh where to begin... I guess it's: find another property manager to rent from if you can. I'm a current tenant and these guys are not very helpful. First off, we are a military family and wife came to Yuma two months early to look for housing while I was on a deployment. She found a house with ERA and was promised a the lease agreement before she left town two days later so she could email it to me to review as well. She put down the deposit and waited. She was back in North Carolina almost a week later before receiving a single document. At this point I would advise you to read the lease agreement. They snuck in things like the rent being due on the first and late on the second and oh by the way, you can not pay in person. You must use their website and pay $30 the first time to use it. There were two other small clauses that I challenged but they would not amend the proposed agreement, putting us in a difficult place since I was deployed, my wife was in North Carolina and we spent a considerable amount of money to fly my wife and son to Yuma to find a house, if we refused, we would move without a place to live. We ended up "sucking it up", although now, I wish we hadn't. Since being tenants we've had the hot water heater go out twice, kitchen flood once, sewage back up into our showers/laundry room and a golf ball smash through our newborns nursery window. These things are not their fault, however, in each case it would have been better if they could have at least acknowledge that we existed. See they do not have a maintenance hotline, you are supposed to log the discrepancy into the same website you are forced to pay your bill on so they can claim to not see it. If you call the office (during business hours) they will tell you to contact your individual property manager and transfer you to voicemail. You will wait 24 hours for them to get back to you before you call again, then on the third or forth day you will catch them in the office and they will tell you that they will get back with you and never will. for the hot water heater, it took 10 days to have someone book a plumber (luckily we were in the hospital for most of it having our child), then the kitchen flooded (during buisiness hours) it took my wife screaming at someone after being transferred to voicemail to the 3rd time in two hours. When the sewage came into the house, we hired a plumber on our own accord after waiting 5 hours for someone to call us back, they did two days later. The window, I used packaging tape and cardboard to shore it up, that was in March, it's now July. Someone came to look at in it April. I'm currently waiting for someone to acknowledge our existence for our air conditioning unit (it's July in Yuma and approaching 90 in the house quickly). In each of the short stories above, I would have been happy if someone would have either answered the phone or called me back within a day and followed up to tell me a plan; such as, we can't get out to fix it until.... (name a date, any date). Instead I'm stuck with the customer service model of: ignore them and maybe they will go away. Some had better service stories on here, I'm happy for them, however I'm suspect that the 5 star ratings are either really old, fake or paid. read more
