They have an extremely high turnover with pediatric dentists, dental hygienists and office staff. While we were happy with the adult care we received from Dr. Parks, having a constant changeover in other staff affected our quality of care and overall experience. Additionally I had to stay really on top of keeping track of my family's xray schedule, as what was covered by our insurance because staff would attempt to perform X-rays without verifying coverage with our dental insurance. We decided to finally leave the practice after we cancelled an appointment. I had provided 24 hours noticed and was informed to penalize us, for not giving the required 48 hours notice, we would have to pay a scheduling fee each time we made an appointment, for every family member. I wrote an email to Dr. Parks to explain that my youth had pneumonia and I was treated very badly by staff for canceling appointments with 24 hours notice related to her illness. His staff member Denden intercepted the email and refused to forward it to him. After all the years my family had been with the practice it was extremely disappointing to be treated in such a way.

I was charged twice for a bill that I had already paid six months ago. When I tried to explain the situation, the accounting person wouldn't listen and kept insisting I hadn't paid. I eventually found proof of payment through my bank, but there was no apology. Because of this experience, I've lost trust in their accounting system. Make sure to always request and keep your payment receipts each time you pay.

However, the billing at this practice is either unethical or they just don't know what they're doing. This is now the third time I've gotten a bill I have to call about. The first time was a random bill I was sent covering a year or so worth of services indicating I had a balance, all my EOB said I didn't and I had to call and resolve that over the phone. I have received an "estimate" of a bill before, but if you didn't look close enough, you'd assume it was a bill as it stated you needed to pay and everything within 30 days - I ended up not needing to pay anything and now, I received another bill that doesn't even come close to my EOB and in my insurance portal it says I owe nothing but according to Wilderness I do owe a balance. Sadly I'll be moving on from this practice, as I don't want to continuously have to debate bills and get them resolved.
