I never felt rushed or felt like just another patient. Dr. Kuperschmidt is Wonderful, highly skilled, professional and mostly genuine. For once I felt relaxed in a Dental office. Dr. Drew decided that my son would need to undergo the procedure under general anesthesia, and an anesthesiologist would be brought in. We returned for a second appointment, during which they were able to perform the exam. We do need to follow up with an oral surgeon, which I expected, as I heard the same information from his previous dentist. Additionally, my cousin is a pediatric dentist and knows Dr. Drew, as she works in Highland Park. I am planning to switch my general dentist to Dr. Drew.

Many people have been asking for updates, so I'll write here…read more Last time, when the front desk told me they hadn't included the medication because it wasn't covered by insurance, I insisted that they add it anyway, even if it wasn't covered. At first, they said it was impossible, but eventually, they agreed to add it retroactively. Today, I received a bill from the insurance company for that medication. Instead of $99, after negotiation, I only have to pay $14. Can you imagine the difference? Yet, I had already paid the full amount and still haven't received a refund. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, please read my previous review--it will all make sense.

Each step was explained thoroughly, with plenty of time for questions. Dr DeGroot followed up with me after each procedure, and made sure I was healing with no complications. A couple of days later I developed an even worse toothache on a different tooth. The doctor agreed to see me. He made some recommendations, but then told me he wouldn't be able to see me for a month despite my being in pain. Pain is always grounds for an immediate visit. Whatever the reason for not seeing me again, the lack of attention to pain was unethical and bad medicine, especially after to agreeing to see me a second time.

While Dr. Gilmor appears to be competent, he is slick and when you visit him, he will tell you that you need multiple procedures that apparently your last dentist (mine was excellent but had retired) had somehow missed. Both he and his hygentist will also insist that those procedures need to be done immediately and you will need multiple follow ups. This is the sort of "medical professional" who gives the rest of us a bad name. Stay away.

When they ran 15 minutes late for my cleaning appt, I had no problem. However, when my child had an appt, they were over an hour behind. And not a single employee would have told me what's going on unless I was persistent and asked for follow ups. No one apologized. In fact the older woman at the front desk patient shamed us by saying we should have made a 1st thing in the morning or a Saturday appt. Um, say what? If I am an hour late to an appt, guess what? I have to pay a fine. But keep me waiting for an hour, it's my fault somehow. Not to mention my child had to miss the entire afternoon of school for no reason. Hey, I have an idea - why not try calling your patients that you know will be waiting over an hour and letting them know before they waste 2 hours of their time and miss school. Another suggestion - if you refuse to call and give patients a heads up on lengthy delays, how about when you notice patients sitting in your waiting room for over 15 minutes, take the initiative to find out the delay and let the patients know what's going on? And keep them updated. Emergencies happen. We get it. And understand. But it's how you handle the patients whose appointments are are affected by the emergency that matters. You give them notice, keep them updated, apologize and most of all don't patient shame as if it's their problem.

Her work is shoddy. And she tries to overcharge you - even after giving a price for things like a retainer or night guard type of product. Lastly - she has the worst time management I've ever seen. Numbs you for a filling and then goes to other patients. By the time she returns, the anesthetic has worn off. She ruined two of my teeth. And I spent a fortune there. Don't say I didn't warn you. There is more - but I don't think I can say it here. Please - GO ELSEWHERE- you're not getting what she promises.
