The food is great (Indian). The rooms are good and reasonably large although a couple of the single rooms I didn't like because the bed was parallel to the door and you slept either facing the wall or facing the door with the light shining through the slight gap at the bottom - yes fussy but soon got to know which rooms to ask for! The decor of many of the rooms is different (different nice not different poor) - room 8!

There's also a small dining area with a microwave and frig, so if you want to self-cater your dinner/lunch that's totally feasible. The only downside (the *only* one!) is that the non-smoking policy isn't exactly enforced. If you're super sensitive, I'd recommend getting a room above the ground floor.

Recommended for sports with mates, or family but not a romantic meal for two. Stop press - having emptied the afore mentioned two bottles of malt I mentioned this to the landlord who promptly went out and purchased 6 more bottles including one I specifically requested. But when we were taken into the main hall to go upstairs to our bedroom, my breath was really taken away. All I could think was: "Is this place for real?!" I guess if Lord Grantham had a hunting lodge, this is what it would look like. There is an open fireplace surrounded with inviting chairs and couches. A large carpeted stairway leads to the upstairs corridors through open hallways that look down on the living room/hall. It looked grand and cosy at the same time. It was really wonderful! The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was helpful and kind. The on-site dinner experience was exceptionnal. I can only describe the food as simple, hearty, dishes with a gourmet touch. Everything was delicious, without ostentation. A delighful experience throughout.

We arrived at 7pm for our £54 room. Great value. The guy on the desk was a really nice guy and welcomed us to the hotel and covered any questions we may have had. He also mentioned the goodnight guarantee. The room was spacious with a sofa and a nice comfy bed. Two extra pillows were supplied on top of the wardrobe just in case. I need two pillows so this was great. Coffee and tea facilities were provided as well as a hairdryer and a TV with digital Freeview. This meant I could watch the last in the series of Celebrity Juice chilled out in bed. In the morning, we handed back the key and was asked if everything was satisfactory. Of course it was and I would recommend anyone visiting the area to check out The Premier Inn for a comfortable base to explore.
