No, it's not the quaint old hundred year old, yellow building that everyone in Greenfield has loved for generations. You know what that means? It means it is energy efficient. It also means it's quiet. They also means it has great light. I can't really speak to the collection because I do most of my library borrowing online but what makes libraries really important these days is an entire room for children & an entire room for teens. And that means there a workplaces and tables and books for everybody else other places that are quiet and available. There is an entire hallway of nice spacious, clean all gender, bathrooms. Thank you. And a big parking lot. Not that e we are supposed to drive anymore, but you know a lot of us need to get here.

This is a good size library for a small town with various books I would want to read as well as…read moreother materials. They have lockers outside for pickup of materials so those nervous about covid don't have to come inside, and thus masking is optional, as I believe it should be. The building is nicely renovated, light and airy. There is ample free parking. There's a bulletin board with lots of local information as you enter, including some that encourages me to possibly relocate here someday. Seems like a great community.

One day while exploring Western MA, we drove through Conway and came upon this bridge spanning over…read morethe Deerfield River. This historic truss bridge built in 1882 is such a unique structure and the views from the bridge are incredible. For the past few summers we have made it a point to stop by this bridge to not only marvel in the views, but to swim under the bridge. On either end there are parking lots, and often the water is moving slow enough that swimming here is a blast. Last Fourth of July we parked one of our cars here and ended up tubing down the river. This was a great place to start and parking was great because it was off the road. In the end, we love traveling to this bridge especially when it is snowing. One of our other favorite parts of this area is that the train passes by the bridge and listening to it pass as you are spending the day swimming here is relaxing.

The carriage house was the perfect "bridal suite" with 2 kingsize bedrooms, 1 double, full kitchen and a private deck that overlooks the ceremony area and future hedge maze. Every room in the mansion is exceptionally beautiful! We had a wonderful time there and Sinde (the owner) made it so special for us!

The War Memorial is in a small space between buildings called Veterans Mall just off Main Street near Bank Row. The Vietnam Veterans War Memorial is a polished black granite memorial which lists those who served during the war and those who The memorial reads, "This story shall the good man teach his son, from this day to the ending of the world. But we in it shall be remembered. We few, we harry few, we band of brothers for he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother. In grateful appreciation to all those who served worldwide during the Vietnam era." And it lists those who were killed in action and died in service with their military branch and an outline map of the Vietnam peninsula. The civil war memorial, "In honor of the men who enlisted from the Town of Greenfield Massachusetts to serve their country in the War for the Union 1861-1865." "Dedicated by citizens of Greenfield in Grateful Memory of those who served Town and Nation in Korean War. Those honored dead gave their lives." And finally, a very large World War II memorial. The Smith Bridge is located in the small town of Colrain. It's a pedestrian only bridge. So I was only able to walk over it. Bummer. Since I love driving over covered bridges. According to the website coveredbridgemap.com, @The Arthur A. Smith bridge was beautifully restored in 2006. It spent the previous 15 years rotting in a cornfield." Now I'm pretty happy for Arthur that his namesake bridge is no longer rotting in a cornfield. But I do wonder - who was he? And more importantly, how did he get a bridge named after him. And a covered bridge no less?
