My goodness what a GREAT experience!! My mom and I went into Erwin's Jewelers as we had both of our independent jewelers in our hometown retire and close up their respective shops. We took Dad's watch to get a battery changed and they replaced it quickly didn't even charge us 20 dollars to do that. While we were waiting, we also had mom's ring checked and it was fine. We also looked at their shop and they had beautiful jewelry and 2 full cases loaded with sale items. Just a really nice shop and we will definitely be back for repairs and other jewelry needs. I went back to Erwin's and showed them the rings. They agreed to refinish the rings and had them ready by noon the next day. They did a much better job with the rings this time around. Not the same condition as I dropped them off but at least it was close enough. Still, when I consider the cost of $300 I did expect a lot more. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. This staff was incredibly rude to me and my family yesterday, 9/16/20. They rolled their eyes, acted annoyed with our questions, rushed us out of the building, and even locked us inside. We were never given the respect and kindness we deserve as paying customers. We are very disappointed! I cannot believe the horrible customer service we received. We cancelled our order before even leaving the parking lot. Please speak to them about what it means to treat people with dignity and respect. I have purchased several pieces of jewelry over the years and quite satisfied with the service Frank and his staff provide. More recently I had broken a retirement memento which was not replaceable. Frank offered to repair the item at not cost to me. It was the main rotor assembly from a model of the helicopter on which I worked for many years. I've been here twice---to replace a worn-out watch band and to replace a watch battery . The customer service was excellent (he set my watch to the correct time AND date). Erwin's isn't a large shop, but they carry jewelry and gift items to fit a range of prices, from clocks to things to engrave to picture frames. read more

My fiance dropped her engagement ring off to get it re-sized and she said that some lady there was being very rude to her because she has never heard of the place i bought the ring from. (I have a friend in the business, so I get it from a diamond supplier) the lady kept telling her that they wont work on jewelry bought on line, or something. My friend that I purchased ring from called to take care of the bill for resizing it and he also said the lady he spoke with was rude as well. I decided to call to check on the status of the ring (one week after dropping it off) and to see if I have the same experience as well, and sure enough, I spoke with a rude woman. Answered phone rudely (simple, unenthusiastic two word greeting), then simply told me that if they told my fiance two weeks, its gonna be two weeks, and that was it......she seemed very bothered by my call. I was in to look for a replacement wedding band after losing the diamond out of the ring that I have worn for over 35 years. I looked and priced them and showed the jeweler my old ring and asked about diamonds to replace the lost one. They showed me what they have and then told me that my ring was actually in very good condition if I wanted to replace the diamond. I chose that route and asked them to make a couple of changes when they replaced the diamond. They told me when it would be ready and it was done at that time. I loved dealing with them, they were polite and treated me with respect when I asked questions. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and will be going back to check out the stones in a couple of other rings as well as get their opinion on a ring I received on my 16th birthday which lost it's garnet...and if they feel it is in good enough condition I will look for a replacement garnet. read more
