Very good Istanbul street food. Stuffed baked potatoes are a street food staple in Istanbul, and the ones we had here for lunch were great. The potato is very large, split with interior broken up. First come the butter and cheese, then the toppings. Mine (pictured) included sausage, corn, hot peppers, cabbage, pickles, and olives.
This is a walk-up stand among maybe a dozen others in an area popular with locals, a short walk up from Bosporus by the First Bridge. Toppings are displayed in a glass case. Service is prompt -- servers take your order, and you watch them assemble your potato. Now walk toward the water and find somewhere to sit and enjoy! read more
