I have been getting my eyebrows waxed regularly at Escape for a few years now, and they always do a very good job. For the eyebrow waxing alone, I would give the spa five stars. The salon is always clean and smells very fresh and the staff is generally (except for the instance related below) very friendly. I have had two "deep tissue massages" in the past few years and each time told the person giving the massage that I had several knots I needed her to work on. Although the massage was nice and relaxing, I left with the same knots I went in with. I would not have paid that amount of money for a relaxing massage - I paid for the relief I expected to have after the knots were worked out. This is one reason I took off a star. The second star came off for an apparent new policy that the spa has adopted. I called six hours prior to my afternoon eyebrow wax appointment to cancel due to a work conflict that had come up. This is the second or third time that I have had to do this in three years, and the staff has always been very kind and accommodating. Today when I called and told the person who answered the telephone I needed to cancel, I received no response and noticed an immediate change in demeanor from the friendly voice that answered. I may have even heard a sigh and could sense the eye roll on the other end of the line. She said she would "cancel this for [me] this time" but explained that they have a policy that requires a 24-hour notice or they will charge half the price of the service. This is ridiculous for an eyebrow wax. Doctors offices generally have this type of penalty, the reason being that they may have had to turn away a sick person because the only available time slot for weeks was filled by my appointment. This makes perfect sense. Further, doctors offices who have such a policy often don't even adhere to it, understanding that things just come up. Even on the day-of there are numerous open appointments slots at the spa for this service. They would lose no business by my cancellation. Someone who wanted that spot would have simply booked another time on the same day (we're talking open spots within 15 minutes of each other) or on a different day. Instead, they're at risk of losing the business I regularly provide merely for the treatment I received and this absurd new policy. For this staff member to make me feel like she was irritated with me for canceling (knowing nothing of what the situation may be) and as though she was doing me a tremendous favor not to charge me anyway just really got under my skin. This is enough to make me look elsewhere to schedule my eyebrow wax appointments. read more

I had received a package for Valentine's Day including a massage, mini facial, and pedicure. The massage was good once the correct masseuse got me. A gentleman with an accent came into the room and called for myself, well what I thought was my name. Turns out there were two of us there. I followed him to the room and undressed and got on the massage table within a few minutes someone from the front desk came in and told me there was a mistake in calling me back and I needed to get dressed. I was mortified and embarrassed. She said she would discount my services but when I was checking out I could not find her and ended up paying the full price. Once my masseuse got me I had a relaxation massage, she used very light pressure which I am not used to during a massage and had to ask for a little more pressure. Even though the facial was a mini facial, therefore no extractions, it left my face feeling smooth and hydrated. The pedicure was excellent, she massages my feet and it was heavenly. The facility was interesting to me. This being my first time to the spa there was no changing area or place to put my stuff in a locker. I had to carry it room to room with me in a wicker basket they provided. The small relaxation room had many people in it so I opted to sit outside the room in a pair of chairs. A robe was provided to be but it was given after my massage but no slippers, luckily I had a pair of sandals with me that I was going to wear after my pedicure anyways. I gave this review 4 stars because even though ALL of that happened they were very professional and the facilities were clean and calming. read more

We received a couples massage and was nothing short of exhilarating. I had a few problem areas in my back due to my day to day physical expectations in the medical field. After my experience at Escape I did not feel pain or discomfort in those areas anymore. I do not recommend this spa. I scheduled two massages for me and a friend. They called and left a voicemail mail couple hours before my appointment and said one of the massage therapists called in sick, so my friend would not be able go that day. I called them back 30 minutes later and they said actually you won't be able to have your massage either. They were unapologetic. I feel like this is terrible customer service. I've now been to the spa twice. The receptionists were generally friendly and offered drinks, etc. The facial I had the first time was really great, both massages were good. The ambience is nice. However, I've had two bad experiences with two different nail techs. The first was not friendly and barely said two words to me. That wasn't as bad as the second nail tech, who kept going on and on about my dry feet and really hurt my feelings. I recognize that the bottom of my feet are dry, so she could have nicely recommended I use a certain kind of oil, etc and left it at that. But then she said, "You can't go around with feet like that!" or something similar. That was rude. Then she went on to tell me what was wrong with my toenails, which I was already aware of. I don't need unsolicited advice or comments - just do your job and act professionally. Then she left me with a wet towel over my feet just sitting there for what felt like 15 minutes. Thankfully the receptionist offered me a mimosa at that point when she saw me just sitting there. I go to a spa to relax, and I did not leave feeling that way after my pedicure. I should also mentioned that 3 of my nails chipped literally within 10 minutes of leaving the salon. Unfortunately it looks like I'll have to find another salon for pedicures and manicures unless they hire someone better. read more

Received a Christmas spa package plus a manicure gift card from my boyfriend. Facial, massage, pedicure and manicure. I've never been to a professional spa before in my whole life so I was beyond excited. The receptionist was super sweet and able to schedule me an entire day to get it all done at once as requested. The moment you walk in the door, you feel like you forget what city you're even in for a moment. The atmosphere is spot on. Nadia did my facial and it was remarkable. She explained the specific treatment for my skin type and gave my skin everything it was missing! And Amanda did my incredible Deep Tissue Massage. I never knew I had so many and large knots in my muscles! She spent special time on each one and I've never felt more refreshed.
