Acrylics with gel polish in OPI shade malaga wine. I adore them!
    Christina F.

This is the best nail place there is! Everyone is so nice and they do a quality job every time. My nails last up to a month (gel and acrylics) and a few times even longer. They are taking lots of COVID precautions and have plexiglass barriers up for both mani and pedi stations and they have everyone wearing masks and they make everyone wash their hands when they first come in. My nails always look so so beautiful! I have had them done by all of the nail techs and been super happy but these red stunners are done by ANDY. I've never had anything but perfection from this place. They even did my pedi completely over when one time the shade wasn't a perfect match (not their fault, the bottles said it was the exact same but they dried differently). Sometimes they are very busy so I do recommend an appointment but they will gladly take a walk in on the rare occasion that they don't have someone. Also they have gone way out of their way to fit me in and I super appreciate that! Please tip these people correctly. What would you expect to make for spending an hour on someone's feet? Also if you come in as a group each person is a separate tip and hands and feet should be tipped for as individual services! Don't just hand them $5 at the end. I see it all the time and they are nice about it but it's in bad taste. Be classy give them a real tip! They work really hard and for long hours and deserve to be paid fairly for their skilled work. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. Rant over. Anyways you won't be disappointed.

I used to come here a while back when I lived closer to the salon. I loved the ambiance and how friendly and attentive the staff was. I decided to pay them a visit after going to various home nail techs. The set I had was OLD, misshaped and lifting and I wanted to feel secure that someone could properly care for my nails. The nail tech I saw was TONY. He didn't hesitate to help me and encouraged that I tell him EVERYTHING I wanted in our sit down. He advised I remove the set I came in with and he would start me off brand new. I was worried one because these were my real nails and I didn't want them damaged and two because I did not want to spend all day in the nail salon. Not only did Tony move fast..the work was painless and EXACTLY what I asked for. He was very friendly throughout our session which really goes a long way for me. I will definitely start regularly attending and I advise when you visit..ASK FOR TONY!

Left: Fresh manicure, right two: Less than 24 hours after I had my mani, my nails were chipping!

I was weary of the mixed reviews for this nail salon but I was in desperate need to take off my gel manicure since I haven't allowed my nails to breathe since March... oops! I decided to pop into Escape this past Sunday (6/28) since it was close to my house and waited about 5 minutes for a basic mani/pedi. The nail shop is located in the same shopping plaza as Best Buy, Ulta, and Petsmart. The furniture is a little outdated and the shop itself is small and a little cramped. My nail tech, Henry, gave great massages (as another reviewer had mentioned), but he wasn't personable at all and I totally felt rushed during my experience here. He buffed down my gel nails with the electric buffer because he didn't want to manually file them down and although he appeared to be detail oriented, he painted over my cuticles on both my toes and hands. Besides the massage, another positive was that when I accidentally hit my hand while drying them, Henry stopped working on the customer he had after me to redo my fingernails. In less than 24 hours, my nails began chipping on both hands. I've had regular manis at other salons and they've lasted up to a week without any issues! Even though their prices are hard to beat in this area, (I paid $37 for the mani/pedi, plus $5 to remove the gel manicure) I'll opt to go elsewhere next time around.

I come here quite frequently and to be honest... I'm never disappointed. I always leave 100% satisfied. I will tell you that the language barrier can make encounters a little difficult but, they take the time to understand what it is you are requesting. Also, as a disclaimer - my first experience here was not all that great (judging me, assuming because of how old I look) that I didn't know what the spa packages included BUT once I spoke up, they realized that I knew what I should be receiving as a part of the package. They jumped right on it. I've now been back several times and honestly don't see me going anywhere else!

My tips and dip powder nails look gorgeous! Mia did a great job and I'll definitely be going back

The salon is clean and the workers take their time to make sure you get what you want!! I would 10/10 recommend. I had Mia and she was awesome

Mia is awesome! I just showed her a picture of how I want my nails to be, she nailed it (no pun intended l). She took her time and did it very meticulously. It was my third time going to this nail salon, and I love it. All the ladies that works there are very friendly and professional.

    That's the salon terrible work.

Very bad salon . Very rude and not clean . The work is very terrible . Don't waist your money and go there. Find another pl I didn't admire the cleanliness of your place and that's not true , and I will never come back because you guys don't know your job and the worst nail and spa I ever seen in my entire life . I am advising everyone to not go to that salon and save your money and just go and search for another place , you will regret it .and for my wife her nail work fell down in 2 days and she did it her self . See all reviews and see how bad is the work plus over price .

I took this photo about 32hours after the pedicure to show the polish job and the redness on the toe

I was looking for a spot convenient for an after-work pedicure before a week-long vacation. Apparently this is one of the "cheaper" (ha) spots in this area to get nails done and it had decent reviews so I figured I'd give it a go. Atmosphere: I went on a Thursday night, so it wasn't crowded at all (maybe four other people? But it's a decent sized salon). The room is pretty nice looking; as others have commented, the items hanging from the ceiling are a cute touch. The pedicure chair was comfortable, but the massage rollers aren't great (if you like that kind of thing, which I usually do). There's some instrumental music that plays, so it's relaxing, but there's a tv with the closed captions on too if you'd rather have something to watch. Service: To start with, the water was tepid at best when I first dunked my feet in, so I asked her if the heat could be turned up. She seemed a little annoyed by this, but there wasn't really an attitude. I had my foot out of the water when she reached down to increase the temperature and the initial hot blast hit my right foot and BURNED. This was REALLY hot -- which is great to increase the temperature! But she probably should have known NOT to hit my skin directly if it were that hot. I jerked back quickly and winced, she asked if I was okay, but I didn't make too big of a fuss, so there was no apology. I would say that the cuticle clipping technique was a little too close. I actually had to resist pulling my foot away a few times because it actually kind of hurt. I also have a blisters on my 'ring' toes, and she clipped at these pretty harshly. The right one still hurts (it's stinging even the next day), although I'm not sure if this is due to the clipping or the burn (because this was the same foot that got hit with the water). When it came time to paint, she seemed to do a pretty quick job, but I figured, "she's an experienced professional, she knows what she's doing!" The photos I took make it seem like the nail's not even fully painted --like it's already grown out a bit? (See photos) Anyway- immediately AFTER painting (weird, no? It's always been before in my experience) she insisted on helping put my flip flops back on, which I told her wasn't necessary. But she insisted it's okay and started *maneuvering* the foot... and I figured, "she's an experienced professional, she knows what she's doing!" Aaaand- smudge; polish on the skin. So, I asked her if she could touch it up, and she let out this big *SIGH* and slid across the room to grab the nail polish remover brush. See photos- her 'effort' to remove it was fruitless. The entire process felt pretty quick but I suppose it did last almost half an hour. Also, this was the first pedicure I've ever gotten where she actually *asked* if I wanted the nails cut... ? Is that normal? My last pedicure was in October... if it had been a week ago, I'd understand but really? Overall: She didn't really talk to me, but the girl seemed nice enough and the place was a cute little spot (seemed clean and everything) ..so I have to give it more than just one star. This job can't be an easy one, working with people's feet and often catering to those who think their $ is more valuable than manners. I myself am generally not one to complain, and in fact, I was super apologetic when I asked for the heat to be turned up/the smudge to be wiped away. But for the service and the paint job, I wouldn't say it's anywhere near worth the $28. I've had much better experiences at much cheaper places in my home town.

I've had a few experiences here around DC trying to find a nail salon and am happy to say Escape hasn't been bad. My 1st experience was for an eyebrow wax with Vincent. He did a basic job and I was impressed with how the salon seemed clean, and well spaced. I didn't realize that they were not able to add tips to the total amount of services and had no cash. When I left he was very courteous and said, "No big deal." For my 2nd experience, I made sure I was prepared and walked in for a few more services. I made sure to give V his tip $ and then sat down with Linda. I asked for a basic pedi, eyebrow wax, and a natural nail French manicure. I had a wonderful experience with her and would highly recommend her services! She was quiet, but extremely pleasant. I personally did not notice a problem with equipment sterilization and to be honest, compared to other places in the area, their salon seems to be a lot cleaner. So, for me I'll be returning. :D

    Peppermint pedicure please!

I love this place and it's my favorite nail place by far! I've been coming here for years but took a two year hiatus (moved, baby, etc.) and just came back today. My guy Vincent is no longer here but Mia is my second go too and she's wonderful as well! The reason I love this place is for my ingrown toenails. I walk a lot in DC with heels and pointy shoes so my feet and toe nails are always jammed into something. Escape does a fantastic job of removing them without bloodshed or pain. I love that they are friendly, clean and priced reasonably. Only downside is the cash tip but well worth a trip to the ATM for the service! I know live 30 miles from here and will be making the drive to get my mani/pedis here!

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I used to get my mani/pedi done here all the time before I moved to Seattle. The decor is fun and always changing with the seasons/holidays. I love the fact that they keep all their tools/buffers/implements clean! Everything is sterilized and put into a sealed package and are opened in front of you. They also have curtains that close off your pedicure chair if you want privacy. Their pedicure bowls are really cool too! It's like your feet are in a tub of GOLD! My favorite tech is Mia, so if you book an appointment, make sure you tell her Cindy sent you! She also does amazing facials and massages too!

    Love their seasonal designs.

Went here right before having my baby and STILL love this place! The prices have gone up a little, but it was still worth it. My feet have never felt better and after being so heavily pregnant, they definitely appreciated the hour long massage from the spa pedicure.

    Amazing result for 60$

Well needless to say, we will be on the hunt for a better spot- FOR SURE. Here's what our feedback was to the establishment since they asked, and I decided to share here in case it's helpful to anyone thinking about going here: "The overall experience was disappointing and did not meet the standards expected of a professional wellness or spa environment. The walk between buildings felt awkward and disjointed, and the areas where services were provided were visibly unclean. This immediately detracted from the sense of calm and comfort that clients typically seek when booking spa services. The sauna instructions were overly complicated and nonintuitive. Rather than supporting a seamless, stress-free experience, the setup required unnecessary effort and attention at a time when guests should be able to arrive, decompress, and enjoy the service. One of the facials was particularly concerning. The provider fell out of her chair during the session, left the room for approximately 15 minutes within the allotted service time, and complained openly about missing supplies that had not been ordered. Her presentation and behavior appeared impaired or otherwise not fully attentive, which was alarming in a setting where professionalism, focus, and client safety are expected. There were also sanitation concerns. Gloves were not worn during the sessions- in particular extractions & close facial work, which raised hygiene and safety questions. Given the nature of skincare treatments and direct contact with facial areas, adherence to clear sanitation protocols is critical. Both facials were performed below expected standards. Product application felt careless rather than intentional for both clients. Creams were applied in a manner that resulted in product entering the nostril area for both clients. In one instance, the technician had to awkwardly clean the inside of a nostril during the service, which was unexpected and uncomfortable (and something never experienced prior). In the other facial, cream entered the nostril and remained there throughout the session, creating concern about inhalation; the client ultimately had to clean it out herself after the session. This experience was distracting and far from relaxing. Additionally, massage and sculpting techniques reflected a noticeable lack of refinement and training, particularly for clients accustomed to higher-quality services. Overall, the experience lacked attentiveness, professionalism, cleanliness, and the level of care expected in a premium setting."

It was nice to seem to have the place to myself for a while before more people came in. This was also during the middle of the week, but by the time I left the spa was pretty packed. The heated pools on the first level were the perfect start to the day. My muscles almost immediately felt looser and relaxed. The massagers were a nice touch as well, just the press of a button gets jets of water shooting at your back. They have smaller pools in the larger one with hotter temperatures, and there are 4 on the side along the wall as well with varying temperatures. I enjoyed all the saunas with their various health benefits. The bar offered different frozen CBD drinks and mocktails. Kelvin was the man! He made you feel right at home, and I like how you can sample the frozen drinks. I got the Mango Guava CBD water, which has the same amount of CBD as the frozen drinks for half the price. It was refreshing, delicious, all with zero sugar. For lunch, I ventured to the 2nd floor and ordered lemon pepper wings with a side of truffle fries. Of course there was an upcharge to get the truffle ones. It was nice and hot, and very filling. I enjoyed the aroma room, immersion room, and peeks my head in the multimedia room. There were also numerous areas to lounge and relax as well. The third floor was the rooftop bar and outdoor heated pools. It looked pretty empty on this Sunday night on June 26th. From the outside you might not know how elegant the place is. Stepping through the security doors of this establishment, Stone Barrington would be impressed. I saw two women wearing Cheongsam Dresses. It is the second time today I have seen this style of dress. Maybe I need to get out more. Still, I like the look. The manager was kind enough to give me a business card before escorting me out the door when she realized I wasn't getting a massage today. A bit rude, but maybe they were getting ready to go home. I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this. 30 Minutes $60 60 minutes $80 120 Minutes $160 I did not get the chance to ask about Table Shower or Body Scrub. Four hands massage sounds like a plan, but I will have to find this out later on. I will be back to write an update on my first massage here. Oh, on their business card. They PREFER you to make an appointment. Walkins give you a 30 percent chance of getting in. I would have give a higher rating on first impressions on this place, but being escorted out the door left a sour taste in my mouth. Like I said, they may have been getting ready to go home. I will try this place again.

The towels and other linens were good quality and the all the facilities we experienced were clean. The bed - with the foot wash basin and the hair washing basin - is super neat! I kept thinking, "Why wasn't this designed ages ago? So clever!" We really enjoyed the foot soak-hair wash. Very relaxing. We'll be repeat customers Oh, looking at my scalp with a scope was a little icky, haha.

Pros: Loved the ambience, the place was clean, staff were friendly. My husband and I needed a little self-care day. We signed up for the couples scalp massage which came with mini foot/neck/shoulder massage. We booked online and the process was easy and seamless. Checking in was a breeze and the price was great for everything we received! The scalp massage itself, was not as relaxing as we'd hope but we enjoyed the foot and shoulder massage. 10/10 would do this again! Con: Parking and the scalp massage analysis. The staff gently tossed our hair around to show the before wash and after wash. Wish they spent a little more time talking about tips and tricks on hair care or why certain things looked the way they did. Our results seem to be overall positive but it was still very strange to look at/understand.

I was able to make an appointment through email and they told me to come in on Sunday at 2 PM. I was ready to head out when I saw I had a few missed calls and voicemails asking if I could come in at 1 PM. However, by the time I checked it was already 20 mins past that. So I called them back and they told me that they had some sort of emergency and if I could come in at 4 PM instead. Thankfully, I was able to move some things around go in at that time. Once I arrived, I was asked to fill out a form that they would send me via email. I sat there for a few minutes until she did so. But moments later, the aesthetician came out and said that she is ready for me. I told her that I am still waiting for them to send me a form that I was asked to fill out. There seemed to be some misunderstanding or lack of communication between the front desk, person, and the aesthetician. I wish they had sent these forms before my appointment so I didn't have to waste time doing it there and cut into the time I was supposed to be starting the facial. I felt very rushed towards the beginning of my service. While I was filling out the form, the aesthetician (Darat) offered me some tea, which was a lovely touch. Then I headed in for my spa service. The actual facial itself was wonderful. One of the best ones I've gotten in a while. I told her that I recently got a nose piercing and to be careful around it as it is still healing. She was extremely careful and I felt no pain or sensitivity. She even threw in some head, arm and foot massages which I absolutely needed! It felt like a true spa experience. That is the reason I am giving it 4 stars, but docking one star because I wish the actual spa was a bit more organized in their scheduling and overall logistics. I think they have the potential, and I think I will be returning for another facial with Darat!

When they heard him hacking they credited our account. Second time, I actually went. Massage room was dirty. Floors looked as if they hadn't seen a broom in a week. Massage itself was borderline painful. I asked for medium and was sore for days. Because I still have over $200 to spend I made a third appointment. Woke up not feeling well (the universe is telling me something) and immediately called to cancel. An hour after my scheduled time someone calls and says they never got the message and need to charge me. Again, I say I'm happy to come In and infect people. Response: Let me look into this. Three stars because I bought a lovely smelling oil and receptionist was very personable. Don't bother going. I may let them keep my $200 which is saying a lot.
