Again, overall pretty good experience this time we escaped with 23 seconds to spare. The reason that I don't give this place five stars is sometimes it takes quite a while to get a hint and this time when we did get a hint, it just confirmed something that we had already solved. When we asked Luke, who was our front desk person about it he said sometimes they are late giving the hints, because they are overseeing multiple rooms, which is why the hint that they gave was no longer helpful. Luke, however, was fantastic so shout out to him. We did the Scooby Doo escape room and overall it was pretty great. I really like how they have little signs that show when something isn't part of the game, so you don't spend unnecessary time trying to break into something that you're not supposed to. Overall, I thought all the clues worked well together and they were all different enough to keep things really interesting. We thought we were doing really well when we got into the third room with 30 minutes to spare, but that one was particularly difficult for us. The room is well themed and clean. We started right on time. Pro tip that you can get your 90 minutes validated here and if you go shopping at sprouts they validate on top of that so you can save $10 total in parking. However, I think they don't stack 90 minutes on 90 minutes, they only stack 60 minutes on 90 minutes so you can get a total of 2 1/2 hours of free parking. I do enjoy the games here so we will probably be back. read more

My boyfriend and I were really excited to try Escapeology for the first time, but honestly, we left pretty disappointed. We chose the Seven Deadly Sins room because we were told it was one of the easier rooms and that it had a scary theme. The theme was cool, but a lot of the puzzles just didn't make sense. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but there were multiple times where we got hints and thought, "How would anyone have figured that out?" It didn't feel challenging in a fun way--it felt confusing. What was most frustrating is that we told the staff several times that this was our very first escape room. Looking back, I really wish someone would have recommended a different room instead of just sending us into this one. If they knew certain rooms were better for first-timers, it would have been nice if they actually guided us toward one of those. Maybe the room is still being worked on or maybe it just wasn't the right fit for us, but it wasn't a great first experience. We were expecting to leave excited to do another escape room, and instead we left feeling frustrated and wondering if escape rooms are even for us. Hopefully the other rooms are better, but I definitely wouldn't recommend Seven Deadly Sins for someone's first escape room experience. read more

We had a team building event here and it was tons of fun! Our team got the train room and it was challenging enough for the team of five! We broke free after40 mins and yes we had three additional clues :) so glad they had those! The staff was great and the accommodations were great! They have lots of different adventures and everything was well thought out. Would be great to go again and get challenged for a new place! I heard they do update spaces so you're able to always be challenged! They are located in a crowded area but there's a parking garage that validates! My friends and I have been going to Escapology for years, starting with their Orlando location. We even met the old owner, Simon, in the early days. The company exposed us to our very first escape game. We were addicted, doing as many as three in one day because they are just so fun. While many places have jumped on the escape room bandwagon, not all are high quality. Escapology is above average in terms of production quality and a solid choice for anyone seeking the thrill and immersion of an escape game. I've done most of the rooms they've offered over the years. They are not as technologically impressive as other companies I've been to. Many games rely on traditional locks, though there are some that don't. Today, we did The Code, and while it was enjoyable, nothing really impressed us about the theming. One of the locked drawers was broken and was thus not part of the game; though, we did not know this until the game master told us at the end. We spent a while trying to figure out how to open it. We also had some technical difficulties at the beginning that delayed our start time. That being said, the staff was very friendly, the location is beautiful, and the experience is higher quality than many of the other escape game options out there. We stopped by to play Mona Lisa and we left so disappointed. Our game master was very kind and there is nothing against them but I want to share our experience. Firstly, we missed a vital part and when we asked for a hint, our game master gave us a hint that was two steps ahead, showing that he wasn't paying close attention. Secondly, the lasers were malfunctioned which led to us being stuck for 5 minutes without any help of idea as what go do, then all of a sudden, the game master walks into our game(this was a first for us) to replace the lasers that weren't working. We placed them where they should be placed but they didn't point in any one direction in certainty. So our game master once again, came back in our room to adjust the lasers, in only away someone who is heavily familiar with the game could. It would of been impossible to adjust them on our own to get us the next clue we needed. Thirdly, a picture, which wasn't supposed to be seen(it was supposed to be the absolute last part of the game, popped open in the beginning and our game master had to shut it. Fourthly, the lights were malfunctioned and showed the wrong colors so we couldn't get to our next clue. Lastly, one part of the game which was attached to the wall was flimsy and started to fall. We noticed before the game, our game master trying to adjust it. All these situations made the game extremely frustrating as it was riddled of malfunctions, taking away the joy of being able to escape without a game master walking in on you three times and without being stuck for absolutely no reason. But you absolutely cannot be charging people over 50 a person for a room that does not work. All these malfunctions could have and should have been easily fixed before taking money from people for a broken room. I see someone else had a similar experience but their game master apologized and acknowledged them whereas ours made it seem like it was no big deal. Ps: we also got told spoilers beforehand to prevent us from further destroying an already wrecked room. read more

We had an awful experience. Kids left in tears because they could not finish. Room recommended was too difficult for first timers and not for kids. This was a birthday surprise and the kids all left crying. When I complained they just said we don't give refunds. I would not return to this location and customer service was terrible. Had a great time with a small group of friends at this location. Located in same building as a parking garage made it ideal, as this popular area can be difficult to find street parking at times. This is my 2nd escape room ever, and honestly the game was a tough for some of us, but we all thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and butting our heads to figure it out lol. There are clues that can be given, if you choose to, and the room is supposedly monitored the entire time with assists given along the way. I also enjoyed the 'No need to move any furniture whatsoever' rule, which made it easier to concentrate on other search aspects. There were 5 of us in 1 room, which was perfect though I wouldn't suggest more. So, my magic answer would be ... Yes! Would definitely come back with friends to try their other rooms :) read more

Good fun! We went with a group of varying ages and did the Scooby Doo room. Don't make it out in time, but it was a great way to spend time together while getting to know each other in a new light. We did the pizza party package & I would recommend nailing down a system to take pizza orders beforehand (cheese or pepperoni advertised but we got all cheese without being asked for our preference). Saw an ad for Escapology Tampa on Tik Tok and it looked so awesome we decided to go there for a birthday celebration. Upon entering, the place appears so well done - definitely the most upscale waiting lounge for any escape room we have visited. We were so excited for the game to begin. We were doing the Lost City room. Long story short... the first issue was when the manager told us not to touch the crank in the first room until we were "sure" we got to that clue because "people break it". Totally threw off the game. Then there were SO many things in the room that were just downright broken and as any escape room fan knows, when you encounter a broken clue, this totally messes up the rest of the game. A few of the broken things included a box that didn't pop open when we took the right action (so we never got that clue and therefore the rest of the game was messed up), doors to different rooms that weren't locked so when we tried to open them we could even though we didn't have the clue to do so (again messing up the game even more, ultimately leading us to the last room way too early). The game master knew things were broken because she kept giving us clues on the screen we never asked for because she had to so we could keep moving forward. This was a hard room. It was obvious after the first 10 minutes we weren't getting out and we were fine with this and just wanted to have fun but because of all the broken clues we "got out" in 44 minutes but not because we cracked the code but because all the broken doors prematurely opened up. To make matters worse, when the manager came in at the end, she told us the owner knew that so many clues were broken. She was apologetic for such a bad experience. She said despite numerous attempts to tell the owner that the room needed a lot of fixing, he did not fix things because he was putting all his resources into building a new escape room next door. She offered us another escape room experience at half off. We said we wanted a full refund. She said she didn't have the authority to do that but that she would call the owner. She called us back after talking to the owner saying he could offer us another experience for free but not a refund "because we got out in under 30 minutes". We called the owner ourselves and after a serious discussion he finally agreed to refund us. We didn't even ask for a free experience to make up for our horrible experience because we don't ever want to go back there. read more
