For those who love Nutella, their La Delice is also a crowd pleaser! They get extra points for having really cute stores. They all feel really homey, cozy and well, French. Designed with a beautiful flourish, the La Pinay is filled with ripe mangoes and folded thickly into a square, powdered with sugar, and drizzled in dark chocolate sauce. On top of the still-warm crepe rests a scoop of vanilla ice cream, two if you're ambitious. The La Pinay is so good, that if I were on death row I would ask for this crepe to be one of the meals to gorge myself on before my execution day. It would be the sweetest way to go.

I don't play MMOs or DoTA or LoL or whatever, so the fact that SN@P exists so close to school is fantastic. They have PS3s and PS4s and driving games for use, including the best way to spend your break in the world - NBA 2K. For just 90 an hour, you can enjoy tons of NBA or FIFA or Street Fighter fun during your lunch break with up to 4 players for every game. There were a few times when SN@P came especially in handy. I recall one time when I had a long break due to a free cut class - a break that was goddamn 8 hours. What's a guy to do? I could study, I could eat, whatever. Actually, the right thing to do would be to play video games! So I grabbed a random friend and just played 2K for a good few hours. SN@P is a fantastic place to hangout, I think. My only qualms would be the not-that-strong air conditioning, I guess.

The thing about Speedbytes is, even if it's 2 pesos per page there, it's kind of worth it in a way. Speedbytes is an internet cafe on the ground floor of EGI Building at Taft, near DLSU. It's pretty much your run of the mill internet cafe. It has aircon, and a mildly cheaper rate than the rest of the cafes in the area at 25 an hour. For me though, it's a really great place to print. They meet my number 1 requirement for printing, which is that they print FAST. By fast, I mean, somehow even if they have a lot of orders, I still normally get finished within 5 minutes of walking in. This is insanely important to every student. All you irresponsible students like me, you know what it's like to be rushing, with 10 minutes before the deadline and the office being on the other edge of school. It's in times like these where a fast printing place like Speedbytes is an absolute godsend.

It's not as rowdy as internet cafes with all those dudes playing DOTA or LOL (which, you have to admit, gets REALLY annoying). Gaming and drinking? Awesome. They have a wide array of games and consoles - xbox 360, xbox one, ps3, ps4 and pc games. The door charge is PHP100 per person and it's consumable! Which is kinda cool 'cause let's say there are 10 of you in a group, you could have 2 hours worth of game play PLUS a substantial amount of drinks and food. Pretty good for the budget conscious. Situated in the small park in front of Bonifacio High Street Central, The Gourmand Market was truly a fete of fantastic flavors. Numerous stalls lined up the park, offering delicious goodies that one can't find anywhere. Most were independent fare, cooked lovingly from the home, perhaps a quality that made whatever they were serving even more special. Standouts include a bagnet-filled wrap, chorizo quesadillas, mangga and suman flavoured ice cream and so much more. Perhaps what was even more interesting is the whole atmosphere of fun and revelry that was buzzing about the whole weekend. This is only the second installment of the series and I certainly hope that the organizers continue this event. Heaven knows that Manila needs more of it. When I first heard about this, I was really glad to see that this management being Gourmand Market really set up the place to look bespoke! It actually reminded me of Brooklyn, with the barrels turned into tables, light bulbs turned into lights, and the plants everywhere. I love how this event wasnt just a food place - I also got to see stalls selling plants (like cacti). It's such a fun time going around trying the different food from sweet to savory to sweet again. I got to buy a bag full of bagels from LES Bagels, cookies from Brothers Bakers MNL, and iced tea from Stellina's. The place and the food stalls are small so it's not hard to walk around again and again. It's really a nice place to bring your family and friends!

If I had to pick favourites, the cheese bread is always a winner. Not just with me but with everyone else that I know. And the ensaymada too! If this is just a cold brew, it's pretty weak for one and it tastes pretty bitter without acidity. Probably from dark roasted beans which is something that I don't see often at places that focus on single origin coffees. Also got the maple-something cold brew. It was 10% coffee, 15% syrup, 75% milk. I wouldn't get it again, but if you like sweet, milky lattes with barely coffee flavor, this drink is for you. Anyways, service was friendly and attentive, prices were pretty good for the area. Overall: I will probably study here for the next few weeks I'm here for the space, WiFi, and quiet!
