This is a top-notch facility! The library is spacious and clean (trust me some libraries I've been to have that homeless smell), the computer lab is neatly organized the best part is that the reading areas are separate from the children's areas. Not having kids running around while you read is a MAJOR plus! its not the closest library to my place, but its definitely worth the drive! PS If you have kids and you are unable to control them, or if you're one of those people who uses public libraries as 'free' Blockbusters, please STAY AWAY from this place.

I can't not rave enough about this library! It is not only a big library that offers a lot but it is BEAUTIFUL inside! It was my first time going in and every staff member were extremely nice very informative and welcoming, the children's area is Filled with great books they also have a section dedicated to Spanish books , the kids section also has tables and a little toy for babies and toddlers the lights were very kid welcoming with a boy in a parachute and airplanes exc, they have a self checkout so you don't have to wait in line to check out your items , they have a huge selection of books for adults and labels for fiction /non fiction exc. they have a special room designed for the computer area . Another section for making copies . And in the back of the library you will find a vending machine and the "reading area" with very big spacious tables and a cell phone area . It's great! They have a section of the library for "free books" to take, and an awesome book store ! The ladies working in the book store are also extremely nice and helped me find what I needed I bought three children books for only 1$ and in very good condition each book in there is! I highly recommend this place even to just get away and study, the back part is great! They also have classes for the public go check out this library you won't be disappointed !

A 5 star facility frequented by 1 star people... This has nothing to do with socioeconomic status…read moreor anything racial, but I saw a fight break out in the lobby the last time I was here. Not a shouting match, not a shoving match, actual punches were thrown, and the fact that the security guard merely asked them to break it up while these people's friends were trying to pull them apart made it worse. These people needed to be kicked out or the police should have been called, that's why I reflect this incident on my review. That aside, I hadn't visited this library since the new renovation, and like I said, the facility is great. They have a nice lobby area, which is not only perfect for cholos to fight, but they also have a coffee stand. The computer lab setup is great, lots of PCs available. The stacks area is brightly lit, which makes it a good place to study. And of course they have the most books since its the main branch. It's a real shame that security is an issue, particularly since this branch is the only one open every day of the week and is open the latest. It is a great library to visit during the daytime.

My daughter wanted to visit the closest library to our new home and away we went. The Belvedere location is cool, clean, and welcoming. The Dewey Decimal system is still in use, lol, so I was able to locate exactly what I was looking for, as well as what my daughter was looking for. I was impressed by how many people were using the facility as well. They had some newspapers, but surprisingly, not too many magazines. I know now-a-days most periodicals can be found on Apple News, but I'm old fashioned in that I like to look and read magazines, page by page. We most definitely will be back, and very soon.

Pros: - lots of parking available…read more- spacious - good lighting - quiet - seemed like there was plenty of computers for public use (about 8 or 10??). when i went only about 4-5 were being used - restrooms are clean Cons: - would be nice to have more outlets for laptops - Better selection of books (you can always request to hold books from other EP libraries, though) - Longer hours would be nice, for those of us who want to study on Sundays or after 6pm. UTEP's & EPPL's libraries have horrible hours in comparison to libraries in other cities I've lived in :( I'm especially disappointed by UTEP's library hours on Saturdays...they're so short compared to other universities' hours! (Is that a statement about EP culture? idk...)

It's a very very very small library. I wish books were common these days but with technology it's…read morebecoming a diminishing item. We are moving towards ebooks. However, this library suits the purpose. It is not really clean which saddens me. This is probably why I do not like coming here that often. On a side note, they rent movies.

In reality, I'm a fan of all the El Paso public library branches and they are all meet pretty much…read morethe same standards. This library is closest to the Stonehaven/Eastwood area. It's a one story building with a park and walk way outside. Inside there's plenty of seating, computers and laptops available. The book selection is what it is, decent sized (comparable to the size of a library in a public school maybe). If you can't find the book you're looking for, don't give up hope...just go to the front desk (you can also do this online under your account on the libraries website) and make a request. They'll let you know if there is a wait for the book because a lot of people have requested it before you. If there's no wait, expect your book in the next couple of days - they'll give you a call to let you know when it's in. This branch used to have a cafe in the far left corner. I'm not sure what plans they have for it now, but I'm positive it'll either go back to being a cafe or become some kind of "quiet" room. The Jose Cisneros branch like all the others are always having different classes and groups. Check the website to find out if there's a group that you want to check out. They also have a lot of things for kids to do (and even more in the summer) and I would say a majority of it, if not all of it, is FREE. If you're taking your kids here, there's usually a small snake on exhibit near the check out. The snake goes on hiatus during the winter though, but your kids might become a fan of the library just because of that snake. I've seen it happen.

So far I've browsed books at the library and checked them out, rented ebooks through Libby, and placed books from other branches on hold at this library. It's all been super easy! And staff has always been very friendly and helpful when I've gone it. It's a great part of the community!

The first library I ever went to in El Paso was Richard Burges Library and I pretty much thought it…read morewas the best thing ever because all I really cared about was if they had the books I wanted (which they always did and I didn't even know about the system they had in place where you can request basically any book). I never used the computers or anything like that, I was always in and then back out. Falling in love with this library can be likened to falling in love with Chili's. It's okay and certain aspects of it are more than okay, but better exists. Most of the libraries in EP have something unique about them whether it's the design of the entire building or hidden reading spots throughout. I do find the RBL a bit dull in that aspect, but by the same token it kind of reminds me of the school library from The Breakfast Club. The isles of books are pretty straightforward. Kiddie section to the far left. Information desk as soon as you walk in. Tables in the open areas. It's just simply a library. Nothing more, nothing less. This library is one of the older ones so I really do hope that they take some interest in it and make some changes that could definitely liven the place up. It's also conveniently in the same building as the police station in the NE. I don't know why that would be convenient, but in case you need to report a crime and pick up a book or two, this is your one stop shop. This library is good for the person who just wants some peace while reading or working because I have noticed the RBL is ten times quieter than any of it's sister libraries. I know all the other ones don't care if you're having a full fledged convo or if you're talking business on the phone, but I never see that at this one. Also it's all an open room so that may be why since the sound would travel through the entire place if you were yapping away on your cellphone.
