It was close to our hotel, in a good part of town, and was open when we were hungry. It was so convenient that we actually went here twice. other than that, there's not much to say about this place. The first time was for dinner and we got the local fried sao jorge cheese which came with little toasts and a chili sauce as is traditionally served with it, sangria, balsamic steak, and a Francesinha which is a sandwich with sausage, pork, cheese, egg on top, and tomato sauce on top. This was our first taste of sao jorge cheese and although it wasn't the best we had on the islands, it was still good. The sangria was on point so much so that we went back a second time just for that. The balsamic steak was bland and didn't really do it for my mother but was miles ahead of my Francesinha. That thing was just weird. Maybe it just wasn't to my liking, maybe it was made poorly, either way, it was not good and I could not finish it. The Portuguese sausage on it, which I was excited to try, tasted like a bland turkey hot dog and the sauce that a was over everything was bitter and just not good. It also took quite a while to get our food but as we found out, this seems to be a Portuguese thing. The waiter was friendly and joked around with us which was a plus. When we went back our second time, it was just for the sangria and to sit on the patio in the nice weather at night. Nobody came to serve us so we went and found a waiter and placed our order. About 40 minutes goes by and we still haven't gotten our drinks. We went and found him and he said he forgot but would place the order. We eventually got it after waiting another 15 minutes. It seems like this place kind of just runs on their own time. All of the staff were young. There's nothing wrong with that but there was no urgency and it seemed like they had no one to answer to. I could've done without coming here again but the drinks were good and it had a lively atmosphere which was nice.

We had the pleasure of meeting Lila and her dog Teko. The food and service was incredible!! We will be stopping by again when we return to Pico. read more

I came here through the review of another yelper, which proves Yelp is useful! I've tried a hamburger here (forgot the exact name, but it was filled with a lot of stuff: hotdog, pineapple, egg, bacon, lettuce, tomato and a tasty piece of meat) and I would recommend it. We also had a jug of sangria, which was nice. The bar has a nice terrace with several couches with pillows and has a nice view on the harbour/ferry. The waiting staff is quick and very friendly. read more
