I was suffering through a course in insurance medicine at a nearby hotel (and their horrible coffee), so in order to get some kind of decent caffeine into my system around lunch-time I took a short walk to Smedjan shopping center and snuck into Espresso House to get my black kick of the day. This place is, considering it being located in a mall with people running around all over the place, fairly quiet and relaxing. Lots of different furniture with couches, armchairs, different levels of tables and this dark wooden style a bit reminiscent of an 70's-80's pub with a modern touch just brings a certain level of expected quality. The coffee is also great, with a selection of beans and various degrees of roasting, it sets the foundation for a good cup of coffee. And that is exactly what they deliver. Good coffee with good service, and even though all their pastries and sandwiches look good too, I was more than satisfied by two dark shots of espresso with creamy milk that got me through the rest of my day. A perfect place to have a relaxing moment, either as a break during a course that questions your sanity, or just a good old fashioned break with friends on a shopping spree. read more
