Introduced to this coffee shop by a workmate who loves this place.
Why I love it?
The owner of the shop is Peter, super friendly and informed guy on all things coffee.
He is never one to tell you not to try the good coffee places around the CBD, in fact, he encourages it so you can compare coffees and find places you like or places that might be closer to home. (There's a coffee book in the shop with all the "hip" coffee joints in NSW for your perusal).
Bean wise - He doesn't roast beans himself, this is not his specialty but he sources his coffee from Single Origin which is basically the good stuff depending on the barista brews the magic of course! He ages the beans and all that jazz to experiment on different tastes but your basically get the bees knees in a local shop near Wynyard.
You also get a good dose of filtered coffees there which I've tried if you're really into that fancy stuff.
Price $3 aud for a black $3.50 with milk + 50c for Soy
Typical ranges for a good coffee
How to find this place...(because it might as well be down an alley)
Located in Hunter connection to Wynyard - Between hunter st and Pitt St
Opposite like 3 different hairdressers, a chinese take away shop.
From Hunter st - Go down the stairs on your right and go straight
From Pitt st - Go down the escalators and turn right until the "connection" to wynyard station
From Wynyard station - Exit south side, down the stairs, past the "arcade" shops and at the T junction it should be on your right.
Give it a go.
Peter is a friendly bloke and you'll be inviting him to your wedding or your best mate's wedding in no time. read more
