There's a Petro-Canada that I have frequented a number of times across the street. It felt like a gas war happening at Bayview and 16th avenues. There were plenty of available gas pumps when I was here. I had no problem entering my phone number associated with my PC Optimum card, followed by paying with a credit card. Pumping gas was smooth. This gas station was clean and cheerful for a gloomy, rainy afternoon. This gas station has a car wash. It was doing swift business while it was spitting rain. It was nice to finally drop by this Esso. I've got some decent gas station options at this intersection. (133)

Not sure how long this will last but if your business, leisure or Yelpwork will be taking you past the Bayview & 16th area I recommend trying to time your fill up to take advantage of the price difference and encourage the franchise operator to continue competing on price. (will post an update if I notice them fall back in line with the going rates.) Note that there is no proper access from the Bayview northbound lanes and access from westbound 16th requires a left very close to the intersection or a U turn to approach from the east, so those who are uncomfortable with abrupt & assertive turns may want to plan going past it and coming back around to approach form the east or the north.

And for some reason, the door into the car wash doesn't close, so the front car waiting to get in and paying at the kiosk gets sprayed upon. There is no free WiFi. The place is wheelchair accessible. However the Petro Canada is a much better stop in most respects (lighting, service, store & washrooms). The bathroom is bigger, cleaner and better ventilated than those of many restaurants & coffee shops in the are never mind other gas stations. Also I have never once encountered a grumpy, unprofessional or shiftless attendant at this location which can't be said for many gas stations. There are other stations in the Richmond Hill area which compete with price on & off - the corners of Bayview/MajorMac and Bayview/16th have been "hot" in recent weeks, the Shell at Leslie/16th used to be the cheapest but it's been inconsistent ever since that big overnight 10 cent jump earlier in the year. However it is only at these Yonge & Weldrick pumps that you can always count on the markdown. Why not 5 stars? Like most stations the last 10 years, the Air Pump is not maintained. And just last week during the -11c night the windshield cleaning stations froze solid because they failed to replace the diluted mix with 100% winter fluid. I consider most gas stations worthy of only 2 stars, NONE of them meet my expectations for an industry with a license to print money. But this is place has the fewest peeves and combined with saving $3-$4 per tank on Top Tier gas, it's definitely one of the best.

The area is clean. All is well. I didn't have a chance to walk into the convenient store. It looked pretty busy, as I saw a number of folks park in front of it, go in, and come out. This location has a car wash. I typically don't use it, as the rollers produce swirl marks that are noticeable, especially on dark-coloured cars. The carwash is awesome. Touch-less and except for the back of the van gets the cars clean. I try to use this feature every time I fill up in the winter. There can be huge lines so timing can be important. I never eat or drink at these places. so I cant speak to that. But if you need some chips or a hot coffee this place has got that for you. Lastly, I like the EasyPay system. no fuss no muss. Shell's system works really well, including things like the car wash. Just don't loose the FOB. Now... should we start a complaint around this ethanol as additive? 10% added? this is a sham. At least shell tells you the percentage of each grade of fuel.

Cashing!!! This was awesome. It was really quick to fill up my car and the lady working inside was really friendly. Cons: It's difficult to leave this location and go to the superstore, which is next store so you would have to do that first if you wanted to go to both places. Would I Return? Absolutely if and when I'm driving by.
