Reading the other reviews is a bit odd. I've always found this store willing to haggle, even when I don't even intend to haggle. Maybe it is because I go in there frequently that they are willing to offer me a deal or accept my best offer. I can't say for sure but I have had nothing but great experiences here. They don't have the best selection in the area but their prices are very reasonable and they tend to find more interesting furniture than the other local antique shops. This is now Bargains Galore at 144 W. Britannia Street. These people are liars and scam artists. I had to chase them down in order to get paid when I was cleaned out a relative's home. I had to chase them for months before showing up and getting my money. The owner lied all along the way and kept postponing paying me. Buyer/Seller beware. read more

I hope scamming old ladies helps them sleep at night. My mother downsized her house and they basically stole most of her belongings.

These people ripped me off royally. I trusted them to do an estate sale in my home because I was downsizing and couldn't take a lot of my prized possessions. Bad choice. Most of my expensive things disappeared, unaccounted for. I trusted this company, thinking they would honestly sell my things. They stole more than they sold. Turns out I "gave" them hundreds of dollars worth of valuable things and I barely made any money. I will never get over this experience. I feel sick every time I think of it. Actually, I would not give any stars if that was an option. My Fiancé an I spotted a Craigs List ad that the owner placed just yesterday stating the following: "Just found in a warehouse!!! Hundreds of pieces from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Designer labels" etc. So, I immediately called the phone number included in the ad so I could obtain more info. I explained to her that we were serious buyers and would be making a 260 mile round trip drive so did no want to do that without more specific information, of most important and primary interest was two important questions...... First, had anyone else had the opportunity to pic trough this fresh, recently obtained lot of clothing as the ad implied and, could she send me some pictures so that I could view it first. She stated there were 5000 pieces an that no one has seen the lot then told me that there were plenty of pictures on auction zip. She said she was havng a public sale the following day and that she would allow us in an hour and a half early. So, looking at auction zip, the ad stated: "A WHOLE CONTAINER FULL OF VINTAGE CLOTHING AND JEWELRY BOUGHT OUT OVER THE WEEKEND" Again, confirming what she implied that this was a recently obtained lot of fresh merchandise. In looking at the pictures, and mentioned in the ad, I found designers like Moschino, Givenchy, Minks, party dresses, 60s mod clothing, western boots,40s clothing and more. There were a ton of pictures displaying a vast array of desirable items. She even went on to tell me there were designer pieces with the original price tags still attached. We discussed price, she stated thing would be from $1.00 up to $50.00 which sounded great, we were ready for the trip. Well, we got there at 7:30 am and entered the store only to find several racks of ordinary damaged thrift store quality merchandise. We did not find a single item by Moschino, there was no Givenchy, not a single high end designer piece with tags. The 50s and 60s items both her ads touted were only a handful and were stained, ripped, damaged etc. No cowboy boots, no furs and certainly nothing that her pics had indicated was there. The best two pieces we saw was a worn out St John from the 80s and a tacky Carmen Marc Valvo. She acted quite surprised that we only purchased a few items and said that it was too bad we made such a long trip and didn't find more. Not wanting to be confrontational, we felt it best to pay and leave rather then bother telling her what she already knew, the "vintage and designer" clothing she was pedaling all over the internet was picked over and thrift store left overs. She could have been honest and told us the truth but its apparent that she could care a less that we drove 260 miles and wasted an entire day just so that she could make $30.00 on the few things we did buy. Bought over internet. Kept asking if it shipped, kept telling us yes. Didn't ship until almost a month after credit card was charged and tons of emails asking where it was. Will keep stringing you along. Tells you they are going to this and that and then don't. We weren't happy with some of the pieces but do not want to deal with people that aren't honest about shipping, etc. any longer so we didn't return them. We will not be ordering more and we will take our losses and move on. If you say you're going to do something...then do it! Your customers will be much happier. Can't recommend read more

I would put a big fat O stars if I could. Do not let these obnoxious, rude people have anything do do with running your estate sale. Somehow the really great items go out the back door before they even run the estate sale. The locust street estate sale they are running in Swansea is a joke. The items are overpriced, and oddly, all the nice things never even get to the estate sale. Crooked, rude, overpriced. Interesting how there store in Swansea has overpriced items. Avoid them like the plague. read more

I have been frequenting this place with my cousin for a few years. It is a favorite of mine and have purchased many items ranging from cameras to furniture. We have always enjoyed the adventure of exploring the store and discovering many quality items. The owner has always and I mean always willing to negotiate a reasonable price. read more
