A must-visit on every trip we take to Estes Park, Estes Ark is "literally" an ark packed full of every imaginable stuffed animal and more. Since my kids were small, we've included a pass through Estes Ark on our way out of Estes Park along highway 36 towards Loveland. Driving up to the ark is always exciting for the kiddos, as is the walk from the parking lot along the "deck" to the front door. Stepping inside, the ark is a wide open space with catwalks along a second level. Every square inch of it is packed with animals and, newly on my recent visit, additional trinkets. We had one child who is fond of foxes, another who like Corgis and both were able to choose form a variety of options. The fullness of the store makes for a sense of discovery. On a vacation in particular, it's nearly impossible to resist making some purchases. Companionship for the long drive back to Texas. I highly recommend Estes Ark if you're passing through this beautiful town. read more

Says open online. Went by very excited to shop and it was CLOSED at 3pm even though it says open till 5pm. Even on Facebook it says "open now." Very frustrating that we wasted our time driving there. Tried to call the number for the store and it doesn't even ring, tried multiple times. read more

Estes Park gets 5 stars all around. I honestly haven't been to the Estes Ark. I didn't even know about it until last year. Don't forget to stop and check out Lyons on your way up as well. Everything I love about Lyons pretty much flooded away including my Childhood home. Next time I get a chance I visit the lot, I think it's a public area to get to the river now. Fantastic selection, super friendly staff and just a fun place to shop. They have so much it's hard to see everything, but the animal selection? They truly are an ark! It's fantastic. We found quality stuffed animals as souvenirs for our Rocky Mountain adventure (marmots, pikas, elk, etc.) and the prices were wonderful. It's really a neat stop and we wished we'd had more time to explore all they had to offer. We were lucky to meet the owner and chat for a bit, which made our shopping even better. Incredible shop! If you're in the area this is a must stop. They have a huge selection and all the items are great quality. And what's incredible is that their pricing is literally the same as your big box stores like Walmart/Amazon but the quality is better. I bought a stuffed panda for my boyfriend and he loved it. The man at the counter followed my kids around. We had told our three kids they could each get something and ended up putting everything back. Not a very friendly "Christian" place at all! Everything was over priced and there are signs everywhere about the merchandise. We will not be back. Don't waste your time here when you can enjoy the beautiful mountains! read more

The new owners are so friendly and accommodating. Such a welcoming atmosphere! Store is fantastic and the slot car racing is really enjoyable. We have been back 3 times since ownership changed and we will definitely be making the slot car racing a weekly thing for the kids. read more

BUYERS BEWARE!! The owner has lots of microwavable stuffed Animals. We purchased three of them. The directions say microwave for one minute and a half, and we did one minute and it totally ruined the stuffed animal. It became rockhard and smelly. We tried to return it the next day but the owner said no because we had kept it overnight. I told her the item was defective and she said NO. These items were $30 each. Now they're in the garbage. read more

One star is too much for this store!!!! Growing up in Colorado, every time we would visit Estes Park my parents always allowed my sister and I to pick out a stuffed animal from the Estes Ark (which we would go a couple times a year and buy animals). Well now being a parent myself I wanted to start the tradition with my toddler. Today while visiting Estes Park, we stopped in. My husband asked the lady behind the cash register if they had any restrooms. She rudely told him that they did not, there was a sign, but the Ace hardware behind the store did and he could walk there and use theirs. It was cold and windy (late Novemeber). We let it go and walked around. My mother found my daughter a cute Noah's Ark fill and spill purse (my daughter loves her Noahs ark collection and thought she would love it), it was a $50 stuffed toy. She asked the lady behind the cash register what the sale was on, we saw a note on the door as we walked in and wanted to know what items were included/excluded from the sale and what we had to spend to get the free toy. Well she informed my mother that they "DO NOT SELL TOYS!!!!! If you are looking for LEGOS they are not here!" Looking around we thought we were in a toy shop, for children. The tone and the manner she spoke to my mother insulted my entire family. She was very pompous and arrogant, looking down her nose at us. We were so upset we decided not to buy anything and just leave. I asked my family to take my daughter out side and I decided to have a talk with her. I tried to tell her that it was a very special thing we did by coming to the store and how she was speaking to us and the way she treated us while we were there, that we would not be another repeat customer any longer. She argued with me, so I left. There was only one other customer ( family with kids) in the store and they heard the way she spoke to me and left the store as well. There were no other customers in the store, very slow business (a Saturday, early afternoon). All of the other Estes Park stores were packed with business, this should have been a clue to their service. So not only did they lose business on a $50 toy, but I was going to buy her some TOYS as well!!!! read more

I'm in town visiting family and we thought we would take the kids to go see the insane amount of bears! For starters they don't allow strollers, which makes it very difficult when you have a six-month-old and a two month old with you. The old man working the counter was very adamant about not letting the stroller in, so adamant,he was willing to argue with us to the point of making us very awkward! For the sake of not ruining the experience for the kids we decided unload the babies and stay. We walked threw the store and noticed a sign saying no kids without an adult, no touching,etc. I found this to be very strange considering this is a toy store. Anyways what was supposed to be a fun experience for the family turned out to be a very awkward experience followed by us leaving, and deciding to not spend money in the store and never come back! I recommend that this store find an employee that is happy and good with children, after all it is a toy store! THIS IS NOT A STORE FOR KIDS!!! Unless you are an adult who collects bears, I recommend not wasting your time. read more
