    Mussels. My favorite!
    Kelsey M.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Estia Taverna for mainline restaurant week. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful and I loved the ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was very kind and attentive, and told us everything we needed to know about the restaurant week menu and the daily specials. For appetizers, we ordered the octopus and mussels, and for our main dishes we ordered the branzino and lamb chops. Everything was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the mussels and the lamb chops. And if you're in the mood for dessert, I highly recommend getting the korma. 10/10 can't wait to go back!

Excellent, authentic Greek food. I was in Greece last Spring. The moussaka and spanakopita and calamari appetizers were excellent! The lamb shank, lamb chops and roast chicken were all delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very nice ambiance and excellent service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tried two desserts - cheesecake with pistachio crust and salted caramel baklava. Delicious!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Estia Taverna. We relied on the help of the Estia team member Mikayla- she was spot on guiding us through the wines, appetizers and mains - her knowledge and attentive help made the evening extra special. We tried the fava, hummus, salmon tartare, and shrimp saganaki appetizers - the shrimp was just as good as when we had it in Greece; the salmon tartare was excellent and the fava and hummus were very good. For mains we had the barbounia (light, tasty fish) and the tsipoura (very large and delicious serving). We shared the Greek yogurt with honey and almonds as dessert and it was delightful. Service throughout was attentive, thoughtful and knowledgable.

We went here for an early dinner and the staff were so friendly. Our active infant was with us and they were so welcoming and supportive trying to accommodate us as much as possible. The food was also tasty. The halibut was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth, accompanied by some grilled vegetables. I wasn't a fan of the sauce but I also don't like olives so I should've read that better. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his mixed seafood. I tried his calamari which was good and not chewy. I also tried the honey walnut cake. It tasted ok at the restaurant but to took most of it home and heated it up the next day and it was lovely. The service, cleanliness and fresh taste of the food would bring me back here.

I love Greek food and was very happy with Estia! We only went for Happy Hour but it was fabulous and I can't wait to go back for dinner. The inside is beautiful with a large bar and two separate dining rooms as well as outdoor seating in the warm months. All of the employees were extremely friendly and attentive. Our waiter was so helpful answering a bunch of questions from our whole group. The HH snacks are good and reasonably priced. 3 spread dip- pita is so tender and great charred flavor. Tzatziki is fresh and creamy with a slight zest Htipti- smoky and tart. Gritty Melitzanosalata- spicy, roasted red pepper. Creamy Hummus- bland. Greasy with no garlic and very little flavor overall. Cheese Saganki- crispy and creamy. Gooey inside and flames flavor crisp on outside. Calamari- perfect crispy and tender. Slight spice in the dip. They have a thin breading so it wasn't too much breading.

I really like Estia! It's beautifully decorated, moody yet comfortable. Service is also on point. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. My friend and I split the grilled shrimp (large and tender), Dover sole (flaky, sweet, and beautifully cooked), spanakorizo (spinach rice which was a great accompaniment). My only one negative comment is that my Tito's French martini, while tasty, was $18. A bit excessive.

Dinner at Estia was amazing. Our server, Erica, was a wonderful server and provided exceptional service and feedback on dishes. The food we had was very very good.

It's been a while since I've dined here because they stopped serving lunch following the pandemic. Last night two friends and I met for dinner, and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had here! I had made a reservation for 5:30pm. We all arrived early and they were happy to seat us early. They were starting to get busy (by the time we left the place was completely packed!). Our server, Mirabel (?), was wonderful -- very friendly, attentive, and accurate. Since it was the others' first time, I insisted they try the Estia Chips, which are a crowd favorite. Indeed, it was better than I'd remembered; in fact, one of the gentlemen in our party said it was "the best zucchini he's ever had." The house bread and hummus were also delicious; their hummus is one of the best. I opted for the Avgolemono (soup) and Dolmades as my meal -- both of which I've had on multiple prior occasions. Portions and temperatures were perfect and the flavor was out of this world! We all enjoyed glasses of wine (rose for me). No dessert as we were all pretty full. I am so happy I had a chance to come back and will continue to recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. My friends were highly impressed and said it was worth every penny!

My husband and I have been here several times in the past few months. We always have a great experience and the food is consistently flavorful and cooked perfectly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a perfect place for a date night and Estia has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants in the area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely keep coming back!

We had a reservation for 4 on a Friday night and were promptly seated by a friendly hostess. We had the Spreads Pikilia for an appetizer. The various dips were delicious with the fresh out of the oven pita! I ordered the Mixed Seafood Orzo and WOW. The seafood was fresh and the orzo was *chefs kiss*. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. The ambiance and decor of Estia is chic and breezy. Transports you out of the Main Line and to the Mediterranean! Highly recommend Estia!! Everything was incredibly delicious and service was outstanding. Can't wait to visit again!!

This cocktail and handroll spot might be one you miss if you are just driving by and not in the local Ardmore scene, and that would be a catastrophe, as it is unique and delicious. This bar has impeccable Japanese ambience with high, light wood ceilings and a quiet atmosphere. It offers exclusively high-top table and bar seating, but still feels elevated. This is one of the best sake menus I have seen in the area, including domestic production, and also offers Japanese beers and a very delicious cocktail list featuring sake-forward offerings. Sake served generously with the cedar box tradition. Specials are available daily and warm food from the menu seems to be prepared next door at Ripplewood (same ownership). Handrolls were bright and fresh using clearly high quality, fresh ingredients. We also enjoyed a Branzino collar. We'll definitely be back, and will try to be early again to get good seating (spots fill fast, as you'd expect!)

Chef/proprietor Carlo deMarco, a Villanova native, is still turning out top-notch contemporary American fare with international flair in a lively yet decidedly sophisticated setting. And, although Mr. deMarco's seasonally changing menu continues to offer his patrons exciting new possibilities, there are still a number of old favorites that I remember from my first go round. The inordinately tender yet crispy Salt Pepper Calamari with beguiling pumpkinseed aioli, for example, still makes a fabulous starter, as does the Butter Lettuce Salad garnished with Danish blue cheese, candid walnuts, shaved apple, and finished with an outstanding Champagne vinaigrette. Entrée-wise, as I mentioned in my initial review, pork still plays a major role. The Java Pork Tenderloin (pictured) with smashed yams, mango salsa, black bean sauce, and maple jus remains a house favorite, with the Grilled Pork Chop accompanied by down-home andouille-spiked mac & cheese finishing a close second. Our most recent visit, however, was somewhat different in scope, as my dining partner and I decided to take advantage of Main Line Today Restaurant Week. Which meant that though our menu choices were limited to three apps, three entrées, and two desserts, the price - $39.95 per person (plus beverages, tax & gratuity) for a three-course dinner - and the overall quality of the cuisine were more than sufficient compensation. To start things off, I chose the Spicy Asian Brussels Sprouts (pictured) embellished with peanuts, shishito peppers (shishito peppers are small mild peppers from Japan with an average of one out of ten being on the hot side), and sweet chili sauce. Brussels sprouts are just one of those vegetables... you either love them or hate them, there seems to be no middle ground. I am most definitely of the former persuasion. And, to the kitchen's credit, the sprouts were perfectly prepared... Not too crunchy; not too mushy. Just right. My only quibble is that the word "spicy" is really something of a misnomer, as there was infinitely more sweetness than spice at work here - indeed, describing the dish as "cloying," at least from my palate's perspective, would not be considered hyperbole. My dining partner's Butternut Squash Bisque (pictured), on the other hand, was spot-on perfect, a simply superb rendering of this traditional favorite. The squash is beautifully seasoned with ginger and touch of curry, then combined with sautéed onion and submerged in copious amounts of apple cider. Once puréed, hot cream is added, followed by a bit of sour cream, cinnamon, and brown sugar. The flavor is rich, complex, and incredibly addictive. Definitely distinctive and not to be missed. Entrée possibilities included the above-noted Java Pork Tenderloin, Chef's Choice Chicken Entrée, and the Simply Grilled Salmon (pictured). On any other occasion, I have no doubt, one or both of us would have gone right for the pork... But on this particular evening, for some reason, we were both in the mood for salmon, which turned out to be an absolutely fabulous choice. The fish was a beautifully prepared - just as our server suggested and we specified - medium rare. But not only was it simply grilled, but also simply presented with a house salad of mixed greens, goat cheese, toasted sesame seeds, cucumber, tomato, bell pepper, crispy wontons, and utterly seductive orange-ginger vinaigrette. And that lovely orange-ginger concoction proved to be not only a marvelous dressing for the salad but also a wonderful complement to the salmon, transforming a relatively straightforward dish into something sublime. Dessert choices were especially limited and pretty basic - either Warm Bread Pudding (pictured) or Flourless Chocolate Cake. I freely admit to being something of a chocoholic, but flourless chocolate cake - at least for my palate - is just too much of a good thing. Just too much of too much. I opted instead for the bread pudding... as did my dining partner, who is not a particular fan of chocolate. ... And, once again, this proved to be a most fortuitous choice, as the bread pudding succeeded in surpassing all expectations. Rich, creamy, and calorically out-of-sight, it added a decidedly decadent note to a perfectly delightful evening at table... And, as I mentioned above, the price was right.

But then when I was looking up their burger week menu I came across the valentines menu and it looked good, so I figured I would give it try. My husband's dinner was alot better than mine so I was eating some of his, even though we always share anyway. He got the oysters with a dragonfruit sauce and they were good. I ordered crab and corn soup with grilled focaccia bread. The soup itself was fine , but it was only half a bowl and not much crab in it. I would have liked more soup instead of the bread. I gave the bread to my husband because we got a good amount of bread for the appetizer and I didn't want to fill up too much. I probably should have ordered the calamari instead , that looked pretty good. My husband's scallops with risotto was very good. Seared perfectly, creamy risotto, good flavor. Normally that is what I like to order, but I got the crab pasta because I love crab. I was disappointed In this dish. The crab tasted a little too fishy like it went bad or something. I also got a number of shells in the crab I had to spit out. I feel like they could have mixed the crab with some kind of seasoning or flavors. It seemed like they just dumped the crab right out of the can into the pasta and didn't even clean the shells out first. And they didn't even put the pasta in any kind of sauce. I would have liked maybe a creamy sauce with it. The pasta was just in like a watery garlic broth, and it broke apart and crab went all in the water and I didn't even have a spoon to pick it up. Dessert was ok. I'm glad we got the dragonfruit cheesecake instead of the chocolate cake, it was refreshing . The tiramisu wasn't bad but it was still somewhat frozen. I was kind of surprised because we are fans of the Pieri group restaurants. We have been to their sister restaurant Stonerose for burger week for a number of years now and love it. We also came to burger week at bar sera the one year and really enjoyed theirs too. I wish they did them separate weeks so we could go to both . Maybe it was just an off night tonite. Sometimes valentines menus aren't as good as their regular menu. Maybe we learned our lesson to go out the week before valentines instead for next year.

I walked in, as directed, just for a very flustered man at the front of the house to fumble with his system for a good 10 mins. Telling me there was a table, then taking it back and saying there were no tables for the night, then saying nevermind and making me a reservation for two (which I would have done if not discouraged by the website) for half an hour later. At this point I already had a very bad taste in my mouth from the level of chaos. I waited outside for my table. When I got to my table I will say my server was very nice until a strange comment came up at dessert. Once I ordered my dessert, he left and came back with two spoons, saying "I brought two spoons for us." It almost seemed implied he'd join me. I dine a lot alone, voluntarily. Most of the time it's after work and I really don't want, let alone need, company. His comment gave me anxiety as I wondered how I would politely tell this man I wanted to dine alone. When he brought the dessert he did not join me but made sure to say "I'll be back for a few bites." Maybe it was a joke but to me it was very odd and made me pretty uncomfortable. I gave three stars just for the Cacio e Pepe. It was very good. I did (without giving tmi) have a very sick stomach after the meal and the morning after so I wouldn't return just incase that was the cause. Like a said... a weird experience.
