This was my first time at Estia Taverna's Greek Restaurant. We were celebrating my brother's 50th wedding anniversary. It was eleven of us and really good to see family. This Estia is located in David, Pa. There is plenty of parking near and around the restaurant. We had a reservation for 4pm and were seated right away. It is very beautifully decorated, with plenty of staff. We had plenty of appetizers and desserts for the table to share. The table was nicely prepared for all of us, with plenty of space for everyone. They have a lot of their seafood on display and if you like, you can pick which one you'd like them to prepare for you. They actually bring it out for a little show while it being prepared (see picture). I haven't one bad thing to say about this restaurant. A good time was had by all! Oh! One thing that was very impressive......twice (during the evening) silverware had fallen to the floor. A waiter would rush over to bring a clean set right away. Wow! Never saw that done with such fast precision!!!! I decided on the Lamb Chops. It comes with fried potatoes, tzatziki and I got a side of grilled vegetables. My husband got the same,only with Spanakorizo (rice,spinach & leeks). It was just too much food to keep account of everyone. Everything was delicious. One thing I can say is our waitress was a pro! I usually go to Estia Philadelphia before shows/performances and love going there. Tried Estia in Radnor last night and it was excellent as well. Service was attentive although funny in that our server would ask us how our next dish was immediately after it had been placed in front of us and before we had a bite. It happened three times! So maybe not quite as attentive come to think of it. We both ordered from the prix fixe menu (sharing the appetizers) which is a good deal, and I don't remember so many items involving an upcharge so that's new to me. - fried calamari - 4/5, very good, nice aioli dipping sauce, breading was consistent and not too heavy, light tasting and delicious - greek salad - 4/5, I usually love this and it was still delicious and fresh but I noticed that 1) they've changed the name so it's no longer called horiatiki, and 2) we had a very small piece of feta with the salad whereas in the past the ratio of feta to the tomatoes, green peppers, red onions, cucumbers has been more even. And now there's a $6 supplement charge for this appetizer which seems like A LOT for a salad. Next time I might skip this because of the upcharge - lavraki - 5/5, this light white fish is just the right amount of flavor and portion and my go to choice when I go to Estia. Also a $6 upcharge but this seemed more worth it - baklava - 5*/5, also a $2 upcharge but worth it as these four pieces of cylindrical baklava, while a little difficult to eat (use your hand? try to cut a cylinder with a fork?) it is an excellent baklava We went at 5pm before it got too busy and were seated away from the bar so we were able to have a quiet conversation but as the restaurant filled it definitely got noisier and I would not want to be seated near the bar. They do have a lovely outdoor area at the front and side of the restaurant so we could have sat outside since last night was quite mild in weather. One downside of the prix fixe is no zucchini and eggplant chips which are my favorite, and I didn't want to order that on top of the appetizer, entree, and dessert. Next time! read more

Went here on Friday 8/14 for my bday. Amazing food and service that was 5 star. Special thanks to our server and the manager (unfortunately forgot their names but our server is a voice coach during the week). They even made the night extra special by giving me a "gift" to take home (they know what it was). This is the type of gesture that lets you know they care about making it an experience rather than just dining and for that I will be returning often and recommending Estia Radnor to everyone. I dined at Estia on Sunday and it was exceptional! Our reservation time was 5:30 PM. We probably didn't need one, but I made one just in case as we're nearing the holidays. I was celebrating my birthday a few days early. There was plenty of parking available. The hosts at the front desk and our waitress/wait staff were all very, very kind. It was a pleasure dealing with everyone here. The interior is decorated beautifully. The restaurant provides complimentary hummus with sliced bread or pita bread. We chose the pita bread. The hummus was delightful. Super creamy and flavorful. I ordered the Dionysius cocktail which was quite refreshing and light. I was in the mood for a carbonated drink and this was perfect. The Estia Chips are a MUST, especially if you're a zucchini and eggplant fan. These little half moons were fried to perfection and come with a side of tzatziki. I was sad when we finished them. Their tuna is cooked rare (it's reflected on the menu as such) but oh so yummy. I was expecting a steak, but instead, squared pieces of tuna wrapped around sautéed spinach were served to me. Highly suggest this! One thing about me is I always leave room for dessert, and I was with my fiancé who loves cheesecake so we asked for that. The pistachio crust was excellent. One of the best restaurants on the Main Line and more importantly in the area. If you've never experienced good healthy Greek cooking you need to go. The open restaurant and cool bar scene is unmatched in the area. As a long time Estia patron, I attribute much aside from the delicious food to the staff. There. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good but just overpriced. I ordered the lamb chops, which were quite good to be honest but for the price I just wasn't blown away. They were tender, but I would say that there wasn't enough tzatziki. The fries were good also but they require the tzatziki. My father ordered the salmon which was pretty good, but also just a small portion. Overall, the portions were just a little too small and the price slightly too high for me to be satisfied, we also ordered the grilled shrimp appetizer, which was good but also not spectacular read more

Our server was very kind and attentive, and told us everything we needed to know about the restaurant week menu and the daily specials. We went here for an early dinner and the staff were so friendly. Our active infant was with us and they were so welcoming and supportive trying to accommodate us as much as possible. The food was also tasty. The halibut was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth, accompanied by some grilled vegetables. I wasn't a fan of the sauce but I also don't like olives so I should've read that better. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his mixed seafood. I tried his calamari which was good and not chewy. I also tried the honey walnut cake. It tasted ok at the restaurant but to took most of it home and heated it up the next day and it was lovely. I love Greek food and was very happy with Estia! We only went for Happy Hour but it was fabulous and I can't wait to go back for dinner. The inside is beautiful with a large bar and two separate dining rooms as well as outdoor seating in the warm months. All of the employees were extremely friendly and attentive. I really like Estia! It's beautifully decorated, moody yet comfortable. Service is also on point. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. My friend and I split the grilled shrimp (large and tender), Dover sole (flaky, sweet, and beautifully cooked), spanakorizo (spinach rice which was a great accompaniment). It's been a while since I've dined here because they stopped serving lunch following the pandemic. Last night two friends and I met for dinner, and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had here! I had made a reservation for 5:30pm. We all arrived early and they were happy to seat us early. They were starting to get busy (by the time we left the place was completely packed!). Our server, Mirabel (?), was wonderful -- very friendly, attentive, and accurate. Since it was the others' first time, I insisted they try the Estia Chips, which are a crowd favorite. Indeed, it was better than I'd remembered; in fact, one of the gentlemen in our party said it was "the best zucchini he's ever had." The house bread and hummus were also delicious; their hummus is one of the best. I opted for the Avgolemono (soup) and Dolmades as my meal -- both of which I've had on multiple prior occasions. Portions and temperatures were perfect and the flavor was out of this world! We all enjoyed glasses of wine (rose for me). No dessert as we were all pretty full. I left my birthday dinner here in near tears. I'd been here before, which is why I chose the restaurant. But this time, our waiter basically ignored us the entire time. Never checked on us, never asked how the food was, never asked about a dessert. Since the hostess had remembered I put that it was my birthday it our reservation, I assumed we'd at least get some small slice of cake or whatever brought to us. Nothing at all. For apps, we ordered Estia chips, cheese saganaki, avgolemono soup. Soup and saganaki were excellent as was the hummus and grilled fresh bread served when we sat down. I ordered the halibut and my wife had the lobster linguine which she liked. My halibut was a bit overcooked and a little dry. For dessert was disappointed to find out that they no longer serve ek mek. Instead some kind of yogurt cheese cake which I didn't care for as it wasn't very sweet. Our server was very nice. This is the best Greek restaurant I have experienced in the USA so far. Not cheap, but worth it. The seafood dishes looked really tempting and the server said they are delivered fresh very frequently but I had to go for the lamb chops which is not something that you see very often. I was not disappointed! Also, the greek salad is awesome and has lots of fresh tomatoes and the dessert cheesecake is one of the best I had, but note it's not a traditional cheesecake, it's made with Greek yogurt and honey. Most of the Greek restaurants I've been to have been fantastic mom and pop shops specializing in convenient take-out; a quick lamb gyro, a Greek salad, some stuffed grape leaves. I had the lemon Avgolemono soup (lemon, chicken and rice) - refreshing and delicious. I also ordered the Greek salad with shrimp added. The shrimp were char grilled to perfection. The tomatoes on the Greek salad were full of favor, the cheese was salty, and, the olives completed everything. Shame on me for trying to be healthy though. My girlfriend got the mixed seafood orzo which blew anything I had out of the water. Perfectly cooked, not chewy seafood in soft and delicate orzo. I wish I could recreate the sauce myself. We came to Estia for their fine selection of fish dishes, and enjoyed so many other of their Mediterranean selections while we were there. I give Gena this- she takes the cake on being the pushiest, rudest server I've ever met. She went for broke on making sure we would never return to Estia. Let me make a long, tasteless, aggravating night short- Before we began ordering, we said we wanted separate checks (it was just the 2 of us). Gena says, "We don't do that here." Insert bratty smile better walking away in a tiff here. Before we left, another waitress asked if I need my check and if I'd like it split. I told her Gena said Estia doesn't do that and the poor girl flat out panicked looking around. I told her it's fine, not her fault, I had a feeling Gena was just being difficult. We tried ordering appetizers first while we decide what to get for entrees ("You ARE getting entrees, right?" -Gena). Gena said that's not how it worths at Estia. You need to order everything at once so the cooks know how to time the food. She said this, to my face. Absolutely ridiculous, you've got to be kidding me- but it's a nice (looking) restaurant and we didn't want to cause a scene with a woman who obviously despised our very existence as soon as we sat down, so we go along with it and order entrees hastily. The food comes out pretty close together (oh wait what?! but the timing!) so our tiny table is cluttered. The food was okay, but nothing particularly good. Lacked a lot of flavor and spice. My partner did like the chicken though. The entire time we're there- and I'm not exaggerating here when I say every 5-10 minutes, Gena is at the table asking if we're done. Doesn't matter his much food was covering the table. Doesn't matter that our forks are literally in our mouths mid-bite, Gena's over it. Get the hell out of her restaurant. I will admit, at this point we're so perplexed by this angry woman that we drag it out a little longer and ask for the dessert menu- oh man if looks could kill! I think you get the point. I won't belabor every slight or offhand insult she threw our way. But the last one was pretty good- as two tiny little bites of the chocolate torte are sitting on my plate (and yes Gena, we left that there just to infuriate you, mission accomplished), she slides up and says in the most bratty way she can muster, "Do you need me to box that for you?" The food at Estia is some of the best on the main line. My family and I eat here often and they flat out do not make meal mistakes here. There are no "off" days. It is consistently delicious. Favorites are: every dip (seriously, every dip is amazing), spanakopita, moussaka, shrimp cocktail (biggest shrimp I have ever seen, ever), the zucchini chips, the fried potatoes, the lamb lollipops, and the cheesecake for dessert is a strange sweet/savory dish you cannot get anywhere else. Oh and the cocktails are incredible as well. This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. I do not say that lightly. read more
