I found Great Basin Nutrition by simply Googling Metabolic Rate tests in my area. I was shocked to see there weren't many options, if any other than Great Basin in the Reno/Sparks/Carson area. Other locations like Sacramento had a few to choose from but they also cost a LOT more than what Jodi Pettersen charges at Great Basin. It was easy to make an appointment with Jodi, but you need to be flexible on dates since she isn't in her office too often and that's where this fancy calorie machine is. She was very kind and knowledgeable and even though I only paid for the Metabolic Rate test and not a nutritional consultation, she still took the time to talk to me about good calories and what my daily calorie goal needs to be based on my test results. Though you don't need to get this test done regularly, I plan to retake it after I lose my goal weight to see if my calorie/energy output changes.

Not only is Cindy a wealth of knowledge in her field, she understands how different body systems work together, and has studied and been blessed with the knowledge of how to get those systems to work synergistically. Not having experienced tummy issues in the past, but struggling with fatigue and a mind that just hasn't been right for about a year now, the thought of getting a colonic never crossed my mind until multiple friends of mine, a couple who did have stomach issues and a couple who had different issues, started talking about how exceptional Cindy is in her practice and as a person. As mentioned, I have been tackling issues of fatigue and generally just have not been feeling like myself for about a year or more. I have been open to getting off some of my medications and trying a more natural approach. After consulting with Dr. Google I was pretty skeptical of the colonic procedure and had a ton of questions which were all articulately answered at my first visit with Cindy. I could tell she has years of experience and loves helping people get well. I was also silently nervous of the obvious feeling of awkwardness yet she made me feel extremely comfortable and relaxed before we started any part of the procedure. Her facility is clean and the environment is private and warm. I went back for a second treatment and have a third visit scheduled. Whenever I am with her for an appointment Cindy is attentive and I feel heard and never rushed. Cindy is responsive, has a calming bedside manner and was extremely thorough before, during and after both procedures with information and follow up. She checked in with me after both visits to make sure I was feeling ok and didn't have any questions. The benefits of the procedure go far beyond just my digestive tract. I have more energy, my mood is elevated and my head is clear. I will continue to see Cindy for routine maintenance and am confident to suggest anyone with or without issues have it done even if you don't think you need it. This was one of the best office visits and adjustments I have ever had. The receptionist was very helpful and courteous and worked me into the schedule on the Friday of a Holiday weekend when she had a cancelation! Thank you! My experience only got better from there when Dr. Dimitry came in to see me. He was very through, listened to my symptoms, asked me questions for clarification, and explained every adjustment he made and why. He is very approachable and didn't try to sell me a "family plan" or some other foolishness. I really felt like he cared about making me better and I appreciate that. I was in a lot of pain when I came in and felt 100% better when I left. I scheduled another visit for next week and am looking forward to feeling better with each adjustment.
