I was in need of tires and they beat everyone else's price! They were extremely helpful. I was then going to be headed out for a road trip and my car was overheating, they we more than willing to diagnose me last minute. They figured out the problem was something very minor and I was ready to go the next day!! They called me after the diagnoses and explained everything before they begun. They do not communicate with each other in that garage, im not taking a day off work when I've been told for two week, on this day bring the car in and then I'm told another week, I've been late to work because of the car not being drivable, im not asking for Time off work for them to tell me next week. Update: I had to get a new car after the old one blew up on me and because I'd had a good experience I brought the new car to Ethridge. The car is used and is a little older so I knew it would likely have a few maintenance issues but wanted to see if there were any major mechanical problems. Chuck gave me a list of repairs the car could use, he then went through the list with me and explained which items were most to least important and even explained why. He also gave a ballpark on how quickly the repairs should be done and of course an estimate on the cost. Every encounter I've had, every person I've dealt with at Ethridge has been enjoyable, I really can't say enough nice things about them and because I don't want to have to go on a wait list to get my car in I'm going to stop saying nice things...can't have too many new customers showing up or I'll never get my car in for work :P First Impression: One of my friends recommended Ethridge when I was looking for a mechanic, I had a pretty good suspicion going in that my car was DOA but I wanted to make sure it wasn't just a fuel filter or something silly. Traveling from Tennessee to Arizona pulling our 27' boat. Air compressor went out on our Yukon as we got to Albuquerque at 3:30 on a Friday, 100 degrees outside ... grumpy mom, dad, and 3 girls. Went to the local GMC dealership and were told maybe the middle of next week to get a hotel. My husband called this place and they said come on. As a single mom of several teenage girls, it is VERY important that we have someone we can trust to take care of our vehicles and be honest with us. These guys are it. They have been in business forever (since the 70s, almost as long as I've been "in business") and I won't go anywhere else for repairs and maintenance for our cars. Just this week I took my car in to have them check the brakes and they said they are fine for several more months and didn't charge me. One of the girls has a very old Bronco and the swing bar that holds the spare tire on broke. We can't find the exact part we need so they got it working again (free) and told us where to start looking so we can get that part before it goes completely out. Brought my truck in about a year ago because I heard some clicking behind my driver tire. After a quick inspection they said the issue is some air intake BS and a starter. Sounded fishy but it had to be fixed. $1,100 later I pick up the truck take it for a spin and the clicking noise is still there. I take it back in and get a sorry. That's it. I take it to a buddy's father , he jacked it up , he spinned the back tires, heard the clicking, it was a loose u-joint. He tightened it up and wow never another sound. I'm beyond pissed to have been screwed over by them by my so called friends parents. Live and learn but I've learned to never trust them with any of my vehicles ever again. This is probably the most honest auto repair shop I have ever used! Was recommended by a friend and I can see why. My car was overheating. It needed just some minor repairs and parts to fix it. I could have easily been told it needed a thermostat at a much more costly price. Chuck is extremely friendly and trustworthy. No wonder they have been in business 40+ years and had a lot full of cars people wanted them to repair! Owning an older car, I know that things may need repair in the future. Liars. Told me that BOTH catalytic converters were shot, and that was cause of check-engine light, and predicted $2000 for repair. Took to my real mechanic who said cat converters were not the issue, fixed, and turned off check-engine light (plus did other repairs) all for under $400. I'd give zero (or negative) stars if yelp allowed, which it does not. and it you're considering taking your car to the westside shop- don't bother. I tried that place first and left with the impression that the guy at the front desk, whoever he was, was a smarmy jerk. read more

Thank you for fixing my car! I had the rear brakes fixed and my engine was overheating. After giving a quote for the work, they found the thermostat was bad and replaced it at their own expense. worst service ever! they will string everything out and overcharge from what they estimated, without contacting us first if we wanted to go ahead with the repair.then when we picked up the our vehicle smoke started to release from our engine and noticed they used mechanical tape to clasp hoses together, instead of repairing it correctly. beware and research a better service station. above all, their reps were rude and made it sound like we were being unreasonable with the repairs. finally had to take our vehicle to another service station where they made everything right for less than what we were charged at ethridge. beware and go somewhere else. read more

I went in there because my car temperature gauge made it look like my car was overheating. I was having no issues with my car. It was running fine but the temperature gauge was high. They told me that my water pump was leaking. I never had any puddles underneath my car. When we told this to the guy, he said that the water pump must be leaking on the engine and evaporating. I dont know cars but I know physics. I know things dont drip up. They also told me that my timing belt needed to be replaced and that they would have to remove it to get to the water pump anyways. My timing belt had been replaced about 15000 miles ago. They quoted me $950. Based on my minimal knowledge of cars and physics, I figured they were trying to make a quick buck. I was complaining to my coworkers and one recommended a friend. I took my car to him. He replaced the thermostat and my car is working fine. He did a full inspection and told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my water pump and that my timing belt was in great condition. I definitely wont take my car there again. I would have given it 0 stars but it wouldnt let me. read more
