I know it's just a train station and getting to 5 stars would probably take a fair amount of effort, but this is a bit disappointing. The best part is that the Eurostar high-speed train from here to London is an amazing way to do it. You get to go from city center to city center in ~2 hours while being on a train that lets you walk around instead of being crammed in a seat buckled into a plane. The actual station though is just fine. There's no nice waiting area before or after the security screening. The security screening itself is a longer line and more of a hassle than you'd like for a train. I get that they have to treat it like a border crossing post-Brexit, but it's still frustrating. Beyond that the only real place to get a snack or drink is a single, pretty sad duty free shop.

During the peak hours, we benefited from having staff who helped explain how to purchase tickets, what the Train Plus option is: Well worth the Euro 6 cost since subsequent trips for the next 30 days are discounted and you don't have to repeatedly type in your name and date-of-birth. The signage is pretty straight forward, but since it's operating at full capacity it can get confusing. Thankfully workers are everywhere to assist! So I did seek help at the kiosk in purchasing my ticket. Amex was accepted here. Then I asked another worker for assurance on what platform to go to for my destination. Everything flowed smooth for the most part. I think their rail system has been the easiest to navigate in Europe so far.

Furthermore try to book your tickets online so you can avoid the lines at the vending machines and you can just head through the gate. From arrivals after baggage claim just follow the train signs which was to my right and down to -1 level. All I had to do was scan my emailed ticket's QR code and it allowed me through the automated gates. If you have big luggage or stroller then on of the staff will manually open a pass through gate. However the escalators down to the track level wasn't working so had to hike it. There was an elevator if needed. Overall station was clean and well signed to find my train. The train to Brussels was a short one so don't walk to the end of the platform as the engine stops right next to the escalators. From the airport to Bruxelles-Luxembourg station took 18 minutes. By far the easiest way to Brussels in my opinion.

This is pretty much what you'd expect from Tourist information in a major city. It's not…read moreimmediately obvious to find but it's on the main square (the Grand Place) so just look out for the "i" sign and you'll find it. Inside there's two rooms. An entry room lined with walls stacked with fliers for every imaginable attraction and activity and a second, slightly larger room with more fliers, maps, a few mini fliers that feature discounts for local businesses and the manin tourist information desk. The people who work here are really, really helpful and collectively speak an unimaginable number of languages. We were just looking for a map, which we were able to pick up for just €1. Although a lot of the other free fliers do also include maps, so if you'd rather not buy one, look for the maps for free walking tours - they're reasonably detailed for the city centre. We also ended up picking up lots of ideas for things to do during our trip and while we didn't do all of them it was still well worth visiting here, just to find out which options were available.
