Dinner in a lovely ambience and the waiters are hardly noticed, only when needed they are there in a jiffy. Vegetarian food is lovely and folks: go for the chef's signature dessert, it's killing! Nice local wines. The surroundings of the hotel are great for a stroll or a decent walk. And so nice and quiet for a good night sleep. In Bonn the Beethoven week kept us busy with concerts and visiting the museum. There a lots of markets, and stores (non retail chain) very worth your visit. The wellness environment in the hotel is outstanding, you practically have the place to yourself. Rooms are very nice kept (hooray for house keeping) and provided with all the necessities. It doensn't get any better, people!

It is comfortable, and the rooms are fairly good - better than the Maritim and other large hotels in the area. onsite sauna/spa and lots of convention rooms. However, it felt really empty (a la "The Shining"), which is probably an indicator that they have their pricing and marketing wrong. Whilst the rooms rates were very reasonable, the restaurant was overpriced - the food was fairly good, aimed at fine dining style, however the menu choice was limited - heavy or heavy food - not much inspiration, and execution was a little off in places (e.g. over salting, over cooking, presentation) which you expect to be far better for the price. Breakfast was not worth 26 euros. If you don't travel there by car, then you will find it difficult to get anywhere local without taxis. Great views at night though, looking down over the river and Bonn skyline. It feels like this hotel is still living off of it's acclaimed history, rather than putting in the effort right now to make the stay as good as it should be. Go if you are travelling by car for either business or pleasure, though factor in the extra costs of the restaurant and bar etc. Don't go if you want to be close to the local attractions/people/etc, or if you are on a budget.

I've now stayed twice at the Kameha Grand hotel and if I have the choice, it will be the only hotel in Bonn that I will ever stay at - it's that good. This place has style ... and tons of it. The decor is... intense. As in lots of red. Red red red. You've never seen so much red in your life. I promise. And yet, it's not overwhelming like you might think (see my pictures.) I've stayed in some of the top 5 star hotels in the world and this place is competitive. The rooms as absolutely awesome. The layout affords privacy and quiet (I never heard a sound from a neighbor) while providing comfort. The only negative I had was only 1 English language channel was working (about half of the channels did not appear) on the television. Fortunately, they have superior internet speed so I just watched stuff on my tablet. The room service menu has great food options. The food is somewhat pricey but absolutely excellent quality. I got the 35 euro breakfast and frankly, it's hard to imagine anyone eating everything. Definitely enough for two people. I ate a number of dinners there and found the food to be excellent but the menu is limited and if I was going to stay there for more than about 4 days I would probably get super bored of it. Hopefully, they change it seasonally. I'll find out next year when I return. They have a private cigar room and I was even able to order dinner there. Very nice. According to my colleagues, they have a fabulous spa and infinity pool but I was working too many hours to take the time to go. Also something I look forward to on my next visit. I did however walk around the hotel a lot. It's situated along the Rhine river and there's a fabulous walkway that adjoins the river next to the hotel. I took a number of walks on it and it is really beautiful. Some of the nearby buildings are to be appreciated architecturally as well. You can get to the hotel by train but you will have a bit of a walk (half of it on a muddy cobblestone road and in the dark by night) so if you're not comfortable with that, call a taxi. Otherwise the walk is about 5 minutes and very straightforward. You'll have to see the pictures I'm posting to get a full sense of this place. It's something else and definitely recommended if you have to stay in Bonn.

It's a very modern hotel with huge open plan and a bit too open for my liking. Everything is in deep colours and a lot of red and black, a bit too much in fact. They have a totally open plan checkin area and a lobby bar. For a 5 star hotel this place is ok. This is definitely not my kind of hotel. It's too open plan for my liking. The rooms are nice but a bit too colourful and not easy on the eyes. The bathroom is totally open and again something I don't like. Service here is good but none of the staff actually smile. Perhaps they have forgotten how to ? They are helpful and professional however just did not feel the warmth. The best person was the bartender who was very nice and made some decent cocktails. Breakfast is quite ok and the selection is good. Room service was also quite ok and I enjoyed my burger. All in all this place did not wow me in any way.

Check-in, parking, and check-out were a breeze. We didn't enjoy the bar or restaurant because we were too busy in the city center, but this is absolutely the kind of place we'll return to!

The hotel was clean enough, it's large, it had free wifi and it had a few channels in English to watch late at night (all CNN and news). The food was OK but it wasn't spectacular. For us it was all buffet and I had to argue with one of the servers to get an apple juice because I don't drink and the complimentary champagne they offered wasn't going to do anything for me - apparently the champagne was free but they wanted to charge me for a glass of apple juice? Are you kidding me? I wasn't overly impressed because it wasn't what I expected or what I paid for with Viking - but it did the job. They don't have any special amenities here - no one is going to help you with bags, they don't have umbrellas to borrow if it rains, they didn't have luggage racks for your suitcase to keep it off the floor, etc. But the rooms were clean, the showers were nice, and staff were reasonably friendly. I'm giving it 3-stars because it's not bad - but it's not anything special.

The rooms and the lobby all stylishly modern - with exposed metal, glass, and glossy white surfaces, only broken up by bright colored couches and rugs. All glass elevators take you up to your room with views of the lobby and the exterior. Rooms were reasonably comfortable, albeit small. The bar in the evenings was a perfect place to come and grab a drink, lounge, meet up with friends and fellow travelers, or watch a game. The dining room is huge - again with the wall of glass overlooking the river. Breakfast service was a bit limited and the serving area was easily overwhelmed even with not many people dining. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. So what would limit the art'otel to only three stars? It wasn't very clean. The carpets in the rooms and the hallways had very obvious stains and didn't feel clean. Likewise, while the beds were fine, I took issue with the countertops and tabletop surfaces, that were also not cleaned very well. Perhaps it was an illusion caused by the use of glossy white surfaces. That still doesn't forget the grimy feeling and clearly stained carpeting in all the rooms and the hallways. We tried switching rooms, which the front desk helpfully complied with, but it didn't improve the situation and only made us more aware that the entire hotel was kind of grody. While the Wi-Fi was expensive and nothing interesting within immediate walking distance of the hotel, the hotel was redeemed by it's relatively affordable rates, outstanding view, and the friendly staff. If you can get over some of the cleanliness issues (and the bed was not one of them), this is a very nice place to spend the night.

It's also in a perfect location to hop along the river for running or cycling. The food was fresh with a variety of options- meat eaters, vegans, and there was even soymilk. I just felt like the wait staff was monitoring my every move as they stare at you and make you feel like you're being watched by the gestapo for no reason. Weird. I prefer at least a little solitude. I didn't get to experience the sauna, but it's co-ed and there's also a rooftop to relax and have a drink or coffee while you look at the view of the city. Free wifi, clean room & comfortable bed for two. I would definitely stay here again.

I booked a triple room as my wife's sister was visiting and we decided on a trip to Koln. Her bed was actually a sofa bed that was already opened and made up when we got there. She complained though that it wasn't very comfortable and was being poked by the springs. Our bed, on the other hand was really nice and comfortable. We were right on the street side of the hotel but if the windows were closed, no noise could be heard. There was also a coffee maker in the room and the shower was nice - good pressure and hot water. Not a bad little place. Oh, pretty filling breakfast too!
