Full disclosure: this school gets points for proximity to my apartment, and I can't compare it to…read moreother language schools in Munich; however, I've taken German in San Francisco (at two different schools), Düsseldorf, London, and Münster (shouldn't I be fluent by now?!) as well as company-sponsored lessons here at my office, and the instruction I received from Andreas at Klartext is really unparalleled. In my experience it's easily on par with instruction at the Goethe-Institut. That being said, although MY instructor was diligent, thorough, dedicated and uncompromising, over the course of my several months at Klartext I encountered a few substitute teachers who unfortunately were not of exceptional caliber; quite the opposite, really. I even left one class during the break because it felt like such a complete waste of time. My impression was these substitute teachers were not employed by Klartext full-time, and were just available local German teachers stepping in. Other classmates of mine reported mixed experiences (some superlative, some disastrous) with their previous full-time instructors at Klartext, but all said their feedback at the end of the courses was absorbed and considered by the administration. I'll also say that you should expect a lot of homework at Klartext - which, in my opinion, is an effective learning method, and therefore an advantage. The level of accountability could be daunting - sometimes after a long day of work you don't want to be scolded and humiliated as you attempt to correct a blank worksheet in front of the class - but it's actually worth it. I progressed more quickly and significantly under Andreas' instruction at Klartext than anywhere else, and really miss the methods (diagraming on the whiteboard, consistently teaching articles when introducing nouns, doing grammar drills on worksheets, etc.) now that I'm taking classes with a much more "relaxed" instructor. TL;DR: Don't judge their terrible website: if you're serious about learning German, this school is the place for you; the value for money is excellent. However, if you slack off, your classmates will be annoyed, your teacher will shame you, and you'll likely fail the challenging exams at the end of each session. I plan to return at some point to further my study... and hope I'll be lucky enough to get another fabulous teacher.

This is THE place that covers 5 different needs which parents may have: 1. weekly parent-infant/toddler meetings 2. groups with a max. of 6 toddlers meet w/out parents for 3 hours in the morning or afternoon. This can be booked once/week or up 4,5 times/week on a regular basis. 3. weekly meetings for pre-schoolers (or even during that first difficult year at a Munich Grundschule) 4. individual meetings for guardians and their child(ren) - this suits parents especially with difficult (e.g. ADD) or specially gifted (e.g. Down-Syndrome) children 5. meetings during school vacation (according to the Bavarian school system) The age group of children can range from infant (1y.) up to school child ( What I really like about Frau Schlötter is that she fully concentrates on the child, not on the parents gibbering, babbeling in the background. Initially she will listen very carefully to the parent, but will then take on her own way by finding out the interests and talents of every individual child in a very calm and child-friendly manner. She does not consider her work as offering a playgroup for children, but rather implementing the basics of Montessori education. Every child at its own pace in a harmonious, nonviolent, safe environment. I entrusted my 3 children fearlessly and without a guilty conscience at different stages in their lives. So, I can recommend Frau Schlötter 100% to any other parent who wants their child in good hands - no, in excellent hands! I have never felt as safe and sure leaving my kids with a babysitter or aupair as I have with Frau Schlötter. The children learn how to appreciate going about things quietly, even sitting at the table for their snack-time. Respecting the basic rules of hygiene and safety, Frau Schlötter is able to melt away any stubbornness in your child concerning table manners as well. The children eat off of china and drink from real glass cups. They also learn to use a fork, spoon and knife. There is never any screaming or shouting - Frau Schlötter will give you the confidence in leaving your child with her by her extremely sweet service of confirming via text message onto your cell phone how things are going. If you work in the area check it out…read more It's a great student canteen that also caters to guests, which is every office building in the area lol We come here often and it's run by what appears to be a Bavarian family serving hearty hot lunches at a very decent price. You can normally get a hot meal and salad for under €6. Tap water is offered for free and drinks and desserts are also quite reasonable. They have vegetarian choices each day and a varying menu each day. The quality and taste here is good and better than most canteens in the area. Portions are decent and the people are super friendly. I quite like coming here for lunch when I am at the office.

It is our first year at Casa Luz and we feel very lucky that our little one is joining the KITA…read morethere. With 10 months it is not easy to give your baby to strangers for certain hours. But the team around Carlos and Judith does a wonderful job and managed it to give us an easy start, lots of trust and great help in the positive development of our baby boy. We were surprised how fast he picked up with his older playmates, how he improved his motor skills and how all the three languages became part of his life. The team of Casa Luz tries hard to satisfy parents and children. There are regularly offers for children; all different kinds. They have get-togethers where parents get the chance to talk about their concerns and wishes. There is little events where the parents are invited to spend time with their children and the other parents - highlights are for example songs that the kids represent with their teachers. A big plus is the flexibility in booking the individual hours. The team always has an open ear. The change of teachers is not a fault of Casa Luz at all, it's a problem all over Germany and we know that. Thank you Casa Luz for having us, we really appreciate your support in so many ways!

While at Casa Luz, we saw him make great strides in his social and verbal skills, as well as his confidence and self-esteem. Casa Luz partnered with us to provide wonderful advice and guidance on how to extend learning and work on specific goals at home and during periods of distance learning. We always felt that communication was open. It was easy to speak with Carlos and Judith as well as the other kindergarten staff and we always felt listened to during discussions.
