The store is quite large, and you'll find almost everything you would look to buy in a supermarket. Has a nice deli section, as well as a really good butcher shop and a fish market. Carries a decent selection of beer and wine and spirits as well. Inside a small shopping center that has more service stores that shops, so convenient if you need to do a couple of things at once. The place is also open late (midnight on weekdays) which is rather convenient. If you're going there late in the evening, go through the side door or the basement parking lot door as the Merrion road door gets locked even though the store is still open. Quite clean and the staff is always nice. Forgot my card there one time, staff retrieved it for me. The wait at the cash register is rarely long. They might up the number of self checkout registers. Having moved I rarely come here anymore, however the other day I stopped in to get a few bits. I noticed they ahd changed the layout of the fruit and veg. Highly annoying, but thier perogative I guess. Out of 6 things on my list, I was unable to get 4. Yes folks, 2 weeks till Xmas, and they didn't have any turkey foil, or foil roasting tins for turkeys. What?? Also was unable to get the cat food I wanted, and the McVities biscuits for cheese box thats aalways out at xmas. I'm docking stars for not having the most basic items in stock! Boo!

The aisles are so small and narrow two trollies can not pass buy each other without one person having to reverse or push themselves against the shelves whilst trying not to let the contents fall to the ground. I have shopped here about three times but each time it is the same I park my trolly in some corner of the shop and walk around helplessly with my super valu brochure in my hand searching for the the items I want. Yesterday I just couldn't get it together I end up having to ask whom I guess was the manager to direct me to nearly every thing I wanted from the brochure!. I was was like a mute cavewoman pointing to the pictures in the brochure. I was directed swiftly to the area where each item was, and then I would point again and be swiftly directed again. I am normally OK at shopping and finding products but this shop is just pretty frustrating! Ok to the good points - the staff are very friendly and helpful and there are some good deals in store. First, the price is right, as you won't find a better deal in town. Next, this college campus community has everything; from bars, restaurants, and a convenience store you're sure to feel at home. Also, UCD boasts a rockstar staff, and you'll find someone willing to help you at every turn. Finally, yes the distance into town was a bear, but I soon discovered that a bus goes from campus to the center of town every 30 minutes or so.
