MPreis overall is a great store with very high quality fruit and vegs, great bread, excellent meat, cold cuts, meat, dairy, etc; they have a nice wine selection. There are many Mpreis's in Tirol and all the ones I've shopped in are consistantly good, some larger than others and some with rather distinctive architecture. This store has saved us many times on a Sunday when guests are coming and we are out of something.

No only was the selection very nice, but they had a little café in the back where they were making pastas, pizzas, etc. This was a great spot to sit and have a good quality bite of food in the middle of a busy tourist day in Old Town.

Hofer (Austrian name of Aldi) is a nice place to shop. Prices are cheap but coming from Germany i don't see a lot of options that i found there at the Hofer here. But overall, staff are friendly and you can find meat, rice and everything you want. Sometime there are sale going on.
