This is a weird shopping mall with a weird combination of shops that has blatantly placed itself…read morenext to the eurotunnel entrance to capitalise on Brits going throughg the tunnel, but has failed miserably to offer the sort of thing we would love to see here. We don't want weird chocolate shops and random perfume places. What would make this place totally awesome would be a farmer's market with fresh local produce, like the one in Le Touqet. Get one of these in here and I'd be tempted to drive down from London to do my grocery shopping every month!

There are a few French boutiques, gift shops and shoe shops, but generally they are average to over priced, especially the electrical store Darty. I can only suppose that they pay a premium in rent that they have to pass on. If you're gasping for a pint there is an English pub in the food court, which is a bizarre faux French street cafe affair (see photo). If you do go, make sure you make a careful note of where you've parked and which entrance you use (it's easy to get turned around).

Due to it's location in Calais this place is popular amongst people who want to get alcohol at a cheaper price than in the UK. Many of the staff speak English well enough to help you if you don't speak much French, and are most polite about it, (I once had someone try to insult me there in English, so I responded by insulting him in French, then he showed me what I was looking for, so it could be a sport there, heh).

This is the relatively new add-on to the big Cité Europe shopping mall (it's on the other side of…read morethe car park but you might want to move your car over to nearer the doors or you'll probably end up forgetting where you parked, the car parks are huge !!) and the idea is, it's all designer gear at knockdown prices. We ordered 4 pieces: closet, drawer, rug and a bed. These were supposed to come in one shipment…read more This was not even close to true. Instead I had to take several days off from work for this. First delivery: they brought the bed and drawer but they forgot the screws for this. They had also lost our rug and closet. How can you lose a 200 kilo closet? Second delivery: They bring the rug. The closet is in the car but they didn't have enough people to carry it upstairs to our apartment. What kind of planning is this? We told them on the phone that the elevator is small and that we are on the 4th floor. Third delivery: they bring the closet. They open the box downstairs and leave an absolute mess in the hall way. Very unprofessional. And last of all, they forgot to deliver some of the pieces needed to fix the legs into the closet. We also find that the top part of the closet does not have finished surface. I guess Maison du Monde thinks that nobody will see this. I find this really cheap on their part. Fourth delivery: they bring the missing parts to the closet. Finally this was over. I had to take 4 days off from work. They said "sorry" and gave us 30 euro voucher for the screws that were missing from the drawer. I find that almost insulting given that all four pieces cost 2,500 euros. I must say, if I could go back, I would not order anything from them. I most certainly will not order anything from them again or recommend them in any way. This was the worst delivery nightmare I have had.

Amazing!…read more On a recent trip over we were just about to leave the shop when we spotted a gorgeous bedside table. It was just perfect. We dithered a little on price and how it would fit into the car (well I did actually!) After a short conversation and decision made, the extremely helpful sales assistant tried to locate a second one as we wanted a pair. She raced around to a display area outside of the shop but was unable to locate one and kindly suggested we order a pair of them to be delivered. We thought this we cost a ridiculous amount and were generally sceptical as we live in England and were not convinced they would be able to safely deliver the items to our home. She assured us it was no bother and cost a mere 29 euros for the privilege. We accepted her kind help and ordered them to be delivered within ten days. They arrived exactly ten days later and were a welcome surprise after a rotten day at work. Super condition, fabulous customer service and a generally pleasant shopping experience. I would use this service again and am very pleased with our purchase!

This is one of the few shops at Cité Europe that stands out as being different. As soon as you…read morewander in, the atmosphere is lovely - bird sond cds, gurgling indoor fountains, little lights on the ceiling to look like stars. They sell all things outward bound/nature/garden/birdwatching/hiking etc plus they have a lovely section at the back full of old fashioned childrens toys (think wooden toys, kaleidoscopes, etc). It's pricey but lovely for a look around.
