I ordered (and ate) 4x cheeses: 1. Farmhouse Brie - This cheese is a very good French cheese. Having a bi-weekly high street cheesemonger from France in London years ago, it is every bit as good as what he was selling. The cheese is presented firm, but it can be microwaved or warmed on a double-boiler briefly to get softer to bring out the taste and scent, and the taste is very good. A very good cheese. [Purchased full wheel] 2. Laurel (Softer Brie) - This cheese is also a very good French cheese. The cheese is presented partially soft, as advertised, and the taste is superb. I will definitely order this again. [Purchased full wheel] 3. Sage Derby - This is a good cheese. The interesting mix of old (sage) and new (fresh cow cheese) is refreshing, and works well. These guys remind me of Whittakers chocolate in that they have a good regime of tasting, as well as good, tested mixes. The herb flavour might not be for everyone, but I would definitely buy it again. [Purchased full wheel] 4. Mt. Cargill Tudor - This was probably the family favorite, and much of it was stolen by my partner. It is a fresh cheese, piquant--it has this sense of fresh milk--but also a tangy scent and finish, with a bit of salt. It is more crumbly than creamy (the Sage Derby is more creamy). It is also tasty and very well done. [Purchased full wheel] I am very impressed with these cheeses. Be sure to order the cold packs for shipping. read more

I ordered cheese online from this company and had it delivered to wellington. The company charged me twice the stated delivery cost (although the actual cost of the courier bag was the one I was quoted! They just made pure profit by double charging me!) They then only sent half my order. All up this has cost me $85 for 3 pieces of cheese. They have not replied to any of my emails, clearly they are avoiding me. This fraudulent service is a total rip off! read more

Stopped by en route from Dunedin to Christchurch. Saw some signs along the road and decided to pull through. Pleasantly surprised. The woman at the counter was incredibly friendly, offering tastings of the variety of cheeses they make, info about the compotes, jams, and spreads for sale, and striking up genuinely nice conversation (she even suggested a few other cheese factories along my route for later stops). I tried many cheeses at the counter, then proceeded to buy several spreads and a 4 pack (small pack of little 1/4 wheels) that included the Red Ruby, Mt Cargill Tudor, Pepper (cracked black pepper, not the pepper jack I was expecting, but delicious all the same), and Komene Kaas (cumin). They had a few others for sale as larger 1/8 wheels (sage, blue cheese, and the others described above). Overall, I am glad I decided to pull over. Friendly staff, fresh cheese, and reasonable prices. read more
