Staff comforted our son and made his transition to daycare so great that some days he doesn't want to leave. I love the cameras in class where I can pop in and see our son happy, learning and loving daycare. The app they use is so nice to message staff, see pictures, updates, etc. The staff all know who the kids are, interact with us and the kids when they are coming and going and make you feel welcome. The director actually helps in classrooms and loves it, unlike other daycares where they don't know the kids or the classes. Our son has learned so much at daycare and we couldn't be more thankful to Tutor Time. I called KinderCare late that Monday afternoon, after reading about them online, I spoke with Kayla on the phone and she was extremely helpful, put me at ease about everything, and was able to get my son in the next day and for the rest of the week with no problems, in their Discovery Preschool area. They made it very easy to get him in on such short notice, and I felt extremely comfortable with my son going there. He enjoyed his time there, and the staff kept me very informed and welcomed to all of the goings-on while my son was in their care. I would recommend their drop-in care to anyone I know who is in need of childcare at a short notice. They made my entire week better. And I will now be sending my son there on a more regular basis.

He started in infant and moved up to toddler. Pros: - Wonderful teachers. Most have degrees, and all of them clearly love children. They seem happy as employees, which is great. - Director on site is the owner. You can tell she really cares about her staff, the kids, and the families. She's extremely accommodating - we changed our schedules multiple times and she was able to help us each time. - Easily the cleanest, most updated site that we visited. - Our son loved it there! - They are great at transitioning children out of the infant room to toddler room to make the kids feel really comfortable. - Great communication with parents: they send multiple photos a day through e-mail, and keep great records of what went on each day with your child. They let you know when he hits milestones and is progressing with new skills. - Great outdoor area - Fun events (bouncy house, fire trucks coming on site, etc) - The hours are great, and extend until 6pm. - Automatic tuition withdraw is a nice option Cons: - Cost. We toured a few places, and it was the most expensive in the area, and included the least amount of "extras." - you have to bring your own bibs, sippy cups, and breakfast. For the price of tuition, I was always frustrated that I had so much work to do to get him ready for daycare in the morning. - constant messy clothes. I wish they'd invest in better art bibs/smocks, and I wish they'd provide bibs for meal time. If i forgot to send one, I knew for sure he would come home in a new outfit. - Food costs extra (about $60/month for two snacks and lunch each day) and doesn't include breakfast. - Some of the food was unimpressive at times (bread and butter for snack?), not organic, lots of breaded chicken dishes, etc Overall: the price was worth it for us, especially when he was an infant. And the ratios! You truly can't beat them. The fact that there are only 3 (!) babies in their infant room and 4 toddlers in each group (younger and older) is something you just don't see anywhere else. I also love the parents here, several of whom have become "real life" friends! The philosophy and teaching methods that this school bases itself upon are far superior from absolutely every other preschool that we looked in to. The staff consistently maintains an overall higher level of expectation for these kids. Which was so impressive to me because at such an impressionable age these young kids are being held accountable for themselves. They take such pride in the work that they accomplish either by themselves or in a group. They are respectful of not only the boundaries of their peers, but more importantly of themselves. As a result they are rewarded by having more freedom in their choices. From science lessons, to music class, yoga, art classes, dramatic play (my daughters fave!), weekly sharing day, to hearing what creative game they made up that day while playing outside. The amazing staff, conferences & daily progress reports, the ever so anticipated Halloween party, and sincerely wonderful families and parents, I could go on forever. Overall the three years at The Little School was a tremendously positive experience for our whole family. We now have a first grader who is reading at a fourth grade level with impressive comprehension skills. As well as going above and beyond her schools curriculum in math and science. There is a clear pattern of favoritism where certain students and staff are treated preferentially, while others are spoken about negatively and treated very unfairly. This behavior creates a divisive and uncomfortable atmosphere that feels more like high school drama than professional Childcare. More importantly, violent behavior (Biting, Hitting, Kicking, Spitting, Throwing things, tipping shelf's, throwing chairs, destroying the classroom, and much more)-parents ask your child if someone in there class is not nice!!!!) (better yet arrive unexpectedly to the class and see for yourself!!!! ) this behavior from certain students poses a real risk to the safety of both children and staff. Despite raising these safety concerns multiple times and requesting that certain students be kept apart to protect everyone, management has failed to take appropriate action. The Director/management's immature and unprofessional behavior only adds to a tense atmosphere that feels more like high school drama than a safe, nurturing environment. It's deeply frustrating and alarming that those entrusted with caring for children behave in a way that undermines trust and safety. I sincerely hope the school takes these serious issues to heart and works toward creating a safer, more respectful environment for all children and families. He is writing his name already, on his own. There are a lot of choices for childcare in Maple Grove, but I feel so passionately about the staff that support and pour love and knowledge into my child. My youngest is starting next month and I have no hesitations on sending him based on the support and leadership of the directors and the teachers. The staff are all supportive of my child, and if there are issues with my son, they are direct and collaborative on ways to make things better. We feel in the loop on what goes on day to day, and love the engaging and enriching activities that they spend hours planning. The pre-school classes go on field trips, which are so fun! If I had more children, Radiant would be my first (and only) choice.
