I've only dined there once, but the staff was pleasant enough. We each ordered the Garlic Shrimp. It's probably a good thing because that was the most garlicky dish I had ever had! I probably reeked of garlic for a day or so. That being said, the shrimp and rice were quite tasty and filling - along with our side order of garlic naan - which hardly seemed to have any garlic in comparison. I'd go back to try other dishes. I got some take out today. They are doing a certain percentage off for take out orders (I don't know for how long). I've only had chicken tikka 4 times in my life, & I really enjoyed Everest's dish. Ambiance is nice and relaxing wait Staff dress formal. Wait time for food was 30 minutes and there were only 3 small tables with people but lots of takeout. I give them an 8/10, 5/10 if they were in the Dallas Texas area. Really good Indian food for Alaska. Wait was a bit long but worth it, good food. I ate here with my family on New Years Eve. We made a reservation in advance for 5pm and when we got there we were seated right away. The place has a good atmosphere and the waiters were all well dressed, but there was one gentleman vacuuming for a while after we were seated and brought our drinks, which we all thought was a little interesting. Our interaction with the waiters was a bit awkward. The gentleman that took our food order just came by with a notebook and didn't ask us any questions, he just said hello and then waited for us to say what we wanted and he quickly wrote it down. And after we had eaten we wanted to order dessert but the waiter who came over just handed us our bill and seemed to have a hard time understanding that we wanted to order more food, and we needed to ask for a menu again so that he knew what desert item we were asking for by pointing it out on the menu. But they were all polite overall, just a tad different than the service we usually expect when dining out. We all asked for the chai tea which was yummy but my dads glass had a red lipstick mark on it. My water glass also had some stuff on the outside of it which I wasn't super bother by, as I have worked in restaurants before and it happens, but not everyone is like my family..We just wiped the marks off and hoped that the place is sanitizing stuff in a glassware dishwasher. Our food was good and the flavors were yummy, one person's meal in our group came out about 10 minutes after the rest of our meals so we think they forgot about that order when the others were being cooked. Overall the experience was a little bit different than what we were expecting, not bad for a new place just getting on its feet, but hopefully in the future they will develop the skills of their staff and dish-washing staff a bit more. read more

$20.00 Indian buffet in Anchorage was well worth the walk. I was in town on business with no vehicle and decided to walk the .6 miles to the restaurant. The ambiance was a little dark and drab, but made up for it with the cuisine. The selections were plentiful and the flavors were well balanced. The staff worked together to make sure I had my drink topped off and brought me fresh hot naan. My wife and I came to try this place out as we heard it was pretty good. Well well well. It is by far the best Indian in town, but also some of the best food in town. We came during lunch so we ended up getting the buffet and the cheese naan. Each table does get a basket of regular naan for free, but how can you pass up cheese naan. Not impressed at all. We waited over 45 min for our food to arrive and they forgot our drinks. The man refilling water was by far the most helpful and helped us more than our waiter. The Mango Lassi was awful and nearly tasteless and the Chicken Tikka Masala was dry. read more

Everything tasted good, the lentils and vegetables were a touch bland but good. The vindaloo was good and plenty spicy enough to get my attention. The nan was very good. We tipped WELL for late night food and spent $100. We went through the drive thru and we're told to pull into the parking lot and wait. We waited over 30mins after we were told it would be 15-20 and no one brought our food out. They kept looking through the window and saw us waiting but no one brought it out. When it was 10mins past closing I went in to grab the food and it was sitting on the counter. So it was ready, they wouldn't bring it out, and they wouldn't signal to us that it was ready and we were supposed to walk in the grab it?? Never coming back. read more

Tried Everest this week and give it 4.5/5 stars. Got sat right away and they were already busy. Server was pleasant but very quiet and hard to understand. Food took a bit but was worth it. Cheese naan was so good we ordered another. The chicken tikka and curry were both very tender and hot but VERY spicy. Might be a little too spicy for folks used to other places like Yak and Yeti or Bombay. On the downside - it took quite a long time to get our check and pay. Pros: great food, good portions, friendly staff Cons: Smoky inside when they are busy and service can be slow. I'd recommend checking it out at least once! read more

Although this restaurant seems set up more for delivery / takeout, the dining area is nice enough and one can enjoy common Northern Indian and Nepalese dishes there. The food was solid although some dishes can take quite a while to prepare and serve. Most dishes are offered with a choice of six levels of spice to suit your tastes.
