they were removing asphalt on Hillcrest Street in North Chicago Illinois. the operator of the street sweeper failed to use water to control the dust. my patio door was open with the screen closed. The dust from the operation of the street sweeper came into my house and made a mess.. I spoke with the supervisor and he refused to mitigate the problem, to clean the dust from my house and cars. They made a big mess in front of my house with their equipment tracking tar onto the next street. when calling their office no one ever answer the phone. I have left several messages and no one respond. read more

My vehicle was damaged and sustained a broken windshield and paint chips due to (Oscar) the driver negligence while driving a sweeper truck . Once I confronted the manager they tried to deny and cover up for the driver who also lied in front of a police officer when I have video proof of the incident , this is a shady business and not trustworthy , Gina the receptionist also verbally abused me and I have it on video while trying to find a resolution for my damage . Everlast Blacktop poured our concrete driveway, sidewalk, and stoop in 2017. Almost immediately the sidewalk settled below the level of the driveway and the sidewalk separated from the stoop. The transition between the sidewalk and driveway became a trip hazard. The sidewalk also has a "birdbath" in it where it is not finished correctly and holds water. The driveway surface is spalling and large pieces have come loose. They had suggested a "California finish" edge at all control joints and we didn't realize at the time how slippery they would be on an inclined driveway. I contacted Jason soon after and he came out to review the issues and assured me they would repair the sidewalk and apply a sealer to the driveway to make it less slick and prevent further damage but this never happened. I have contacted them many times with no resolution and am now posting this review. Everlast did several asphalt driveways in our neighborhood and they look great but it appears that their concrete work leaves quite a bit to be desired. Our "new" driveway now looks as crappy as some of the original driveways in the neighborhood. Jason and Angelica were very friendly and pricing was good but the product is subpar. read more

Exceeded my expectations. The quote we got was very well written and specific to my driveway project. This was a very big project that required a large crew and Everlast delivered. I had a contract with Everlast for 3 months to install a new driveway. They kept giving the run around in regards to the install date. I kept calling and emailing - Angelica kept giving different excuses. Eventually they claimed their roller broke down and they didnt know when it would be running. I called Damico Paving and they had a new driveway installed within 3 days. Don't waste your time with these guys. read more

I would like to be able to review Everlast on the work that they executed, but unfortunately, I am only able to review the company based on my encounters with their office manager, who I spent the last nine weeks going back and forth with, before ultimately terminating my professional relationship with Everlast for failing to commit to a start date, let alone execute my project. At the time of my initial inquiry, the first week in July, The Office Manager let me know that they were "2-3 weeks out" in terms of availability. 5 weeks later, I was told that I "simply do not understand construction" when asking for an update on my project. Another 2 weeks went by, and still not estimated start date. Many dates that Angelica told me I could expect to receive an update came and went with zero communication. Only after I would reach out, often multiple times over many days, would I receive a response. Excuses I received ranged from "being the only one on the office" to, "didn't have internet for the last few days." I had asked for someone above her to reach out on three different occasions to address the situation, but each time I was just told they are not available. Today, I reached out for an update, after 10 days of no communication. I received another condescending and hostile response. It seems Everlast has no interest in finishing (or starting) my project, nor being transparent or honest with me in terms of setting realistic expectations. Rather, it seems they expect me to sit around for months on end with hopes that they might decide to schedule my project. It is abundantly clear that my business is of zero value to them. read more

Right now I will give this company a one star, but they have an opportunity to better the star to a 4. The sales guy was great was in contact with me all the way through the project and its completion. The sales guy promised the patch work would be good for just over a year. We did not have a bad winter but the work went south and after going back to them he advised it would cost more.....I don't think so your job didn't last by a couple months fix it and we are all good. We realize this was not a permanent fix but it only lasted a couple months. I like using Everlast but the job didn't last as promised. read more

I can't review their actual asphalt work, it was never done. Because after 8 weeks of delays and feeble excuses, I finally canceled the contract and went with someone else. The office staff were nice enough on the phone and in emails. However that does not address why after 8 weeks, the permit was not obtained and nothing was done . They scheduled a time to do my work, I arrive home and nothing was done. Called, got an apology and a new day for the work. Second time it was scheduled, the same again NO NOTIFICATION despite having my phone, cellphone, email address, then they never say why the work was not done. I call to get a feeble excuse that was the equivalent of "The dog ate my homework" NOT a professional response. Third re-schedule.... same thing YET AGAIN despite their absolute assurances that the work would be done. Sorry... three strikes and you are out. I wasted 8 weeks messing around moving my cars around, making calls, sending e-mails making arrangements and got nothing but a weak "we are sorry". The poor organization on the front end made me very nervous as to what the quality of work would end up being. But again... I'll never know. I'll also never know the real reason they couldn't handle a simple job as I was never given a believable reply as to their failure to arrive for the work. Sorry. read more

I had a very expensive concrete driveway done a year ago and after the work was done I have been trying to get them to come back out and clean the huge mess they left including concrete marks all over the sidewalk and street was a mess for months and they threw wheelbarrows full of extra concrete in the woods next to our house which are a protected wetland system. They have since to come back and fix a multitude of other problems i have repeatedly asked them to fix and have promised me all sorts of things...nothing but talk. I will find another concrete company and have the job done the right way read more

Excellent! I had a 4,000 sq ft driveway that was at the end of its useful life. I called Everlast and had a quote back in two days. Once the asphalt plants opened up I got a call from Angelica to schedule the year up if the old and installation of the new. It rained the next day so we had to reschedule. Rescheduling was a breeze. The crew showed up at 6:30am. I spoke with Oscar and asked him a few questions about the process and he answers all of my questions. They started working about 7:15 on tearing up my current driveway. The crew they sent out was impressive. They had seven guys for the job. A tear out, fill and level, and new asphalt driveway all in one day! They wrapped up shortly after 2:00pm. I couldn't be any more happy with this process, professionalism, the crew, and the results. Thanks Everlast!! It could have a great but the seal coating was supposed to have silicone sand added to give the driveway sparkling effect.Like the blacktop in Carol Stream on Lies Rd.Anthony Brown said he would come back to make it sparkle but that never happened.However they did do very good job on the driveway replacement and blending the side drive to the replaced drive.For that I say Thank You! read more

I'm very conflicted writing this review. While we are pleased with the work Everlast did for us (a new asphalt driveway and a 96 sq. ft. concrete walkway on the side of the house), their communication skills leave a lot to be desired. They are incredibly knowledgeable about their work and their experience is impressive. They explain everything up front and in great detail. The office staff is equally impressive, professional, and wonderful to deal with. However, this project was supposed to take only 2 days and it actually took 4 days. The crew never arrived before 11am. They got to work so late (and left so early) that nothing that was supposed to be completed that day actually ever got completed. Every time I would question what was going on and what time I could expect them, I got excuse after excuse. One person would tell me one thing and then something else would happen and someone else would tell me something different. The managers don't communicate well with each other. Literally every time I talked to someone on the phone, I was told something different about what to expect and what time. I began to not believe anything they told me and got very frustrated with them. Finally, on the last day, after they finished cementing the concrete walkway on the side of our house, I went outside later to inspect the work. I noticed an animal had walked across the wet concrete leaving paw prints. I immediately texted Jason, the foreman, with pictures of what happened. His response? "Well, it's a good thing this walkway is for garbage cans and not in front of your house." ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I immediately texted him back and said this walkway cost me $1900. I need it fixed. Thankfully, he sent the concrete crew back to fix it, but this is a perfect example of Everlast's work ethic. I simply got so tired of their excuses and lack of work ethic. There was a delay between tearing out the old driveway and putting the new one due to rain. No warning that they were coming to install the new driveway - just showed up when i wasn't home. Looked okay from a distance, but then I realized one edge was sloppy - had some overflow in spots. I paid them with the assurance that the edge would be an easy fix - they would be back the next day. I had to call 4 times to get them to come back. They got a little of it off, but still some bad spots. I will definitely not recommend them to friends. read more
