I was shocked the day after I had my appointment- for the first time I actually FELT like mowing the lawn and actually had the energy to joyfully do it (and the constant amount of housework that comes with having a little one)! This is a big milestone for me, for I have had chronic fatigue since I was a teenager, as well as liver disease. I have doctor appointment after doctor appointment trying to figure out why I had abnormal energy and liver test test results for about 20 years- with no results besides them wanting to do surgery. I was usually brushed off for my concerns because I was not obese. I did try some other forms of the healing arts, but had the most definite results with Jiti's reiki. Daily tasks like doing chores and taking care of my kiddo made me feel like I was dying by the end of the day (or the middle). It was great to have my first real breakthrough with her. I decided to go with the 60 min Spa Massage for my first visit which is a massage that also includes a seaweed and matcha green tea mask with essential oils on the back which sounded delightful and it truly was ! Her policy is to pay for your first session ahead of time so she will send an invoice to you to pay..I know some people probably wouldn't like that but I can see why she does it, people can make an appointment randomly and then not show up and then you just wasted the therapist's time and they lost income they were expecting to make when you no show and don't give notice. She also gives you a 10% discount when you pay that invoice for your first service, so that's a nice incentive to pay ahead of time. I arrived a bit late unfortunately and I had paperwork to fill out since it was my first time in so my massage had to get cut a bit short but honestly, I didn't feel like she rushed through it or anything. She also did amazing working out knots in my neck, shoulders and arms while also making it as relaxing as possible for me as I'm not someone who likes to feel like I was hit by a train when I go to get a massage. She incorporated a little gua sha (gua sha is like a scraping technique with a tool), which is something I've never had done before, and it did wonders on my body. She was so kind and even gave me a gift at the end, which was a bottle of lemon scented bath salts, which I look forward to using. This is my year for radical self care. I made a promise to myself - a commitment to prioritize my wellbeing.
