We used to come here all the time when we lived in Ewa Beach five years ago. Either the owners or the chefs have changed because this is isn't how I remembered. Some of the food we got (pork chops and minute chicken cake noodles) were pretty bland. Service was rude at times and we had to wait a long time for a refill of water. This is my dad-in-law's favorite Chinese food restaurant. He'll drive from Aiea to come eat here. He loves the crispy gau gee. My hubby likes the Mongolian beef and the pineapple fried rice with pork. I like the cake noodles with Choy sum and chicken and the sweet sour pork. The honey walnut shrimp is also pretty good. Every time we go we get seated right away and the food comes out fast. Lunch from start to finish is done within an hour. It's the usual stereotypical Chinese restaurant, clean and simple looking with white tablecloths. Prices are fair, most dishes are ten dollars and under. The crispee gaugee meat, small a$$ piece of porkash. All wonton chip..Wth. Lol size of a dime. Taste wise, eehh, taste better else at Tasty's. Cold ginger chicken was okay, all taste the same. Now the stuffed eggplant was a disgrace. It was tempura batter eggplant, one slice stuffed with porkash. Wow what cheapos. It was oily, sauce was not that great. Tasted weird. I bit on an old eggplant i think. It had seeds! Really disapponted. I thought not hong kong style? SMH. when you order sizzling stuffed eggplant, you think smoke up in here, actually whole epplant stuffed with real pork not porkashe grade, green onions, garlic etc the works. Broke da mouth. Let's try Chinese food for dinner. Well I visited this place after deciding Hong Kong was too far a drive. For me, I should have taken the extra mile. The place was nice and clean. And there were people enjoying themselves. I placed my order and decided to wait outside for some fresh air. As I waited, a server would bring take out orders to people outside. Based on the foot traffic I would say this is a pretty popular place. When my food was delivered, I was anxious to get home and dig in. I got three dishes: #1 the can't go wrong Honey Walnut Shrimp. #2 the stable sweet and sour pork. And lastly the haven't had this since like forever Singapore noodles. What no rice? Funny that's what the lady taking my order said. I said; "Why cause I'm Filipino I have to order rice?" I told her I already had the rice cooker going. Anyway shrimp was tasty but I feel way over priced. I got a total of 12 shrimps and a lot of walnuts. Hey if I count my nuggets you know I'm going to count the shrimp. It was good but in my opinion not worth the price. I would gladly pay the extra at Panda Express. The pork was bland. Meat was hard and no flavor. Really it tasted like left overs that you reheat in a microwave. The sauce didn't help. As for the Singapore noodles, it was bland also but I did have them modify my dish. I couldn't have them make it as usual (spicy) because of the 5 yo. So the noodles didn't weight in on my rating too much. Overall three stars. Parking is primo with plenty of huge spaces, restaurant was clean and busy. The shrimp delicious but high price and the pork I've had better. Call in orders ahead of time so you're not waiting awhile, esp if they have a lot of take-out orders. Eating-in is usually no wait, unless they have big parties. Food are quick to come out from the kitchen. We love the orange chicken, mongolian beef, cake noodle w/ chicken & veggies, steamed fish w/ ginger, blackbean w/ clams, honey walnut shrimp, and the eggdrop soup. Ewa Pointe Chinese Restaurant offers friendly and quick service. Food is typical, comparable to the food from other similar restaurants in the same area. House Special Noodles compare to the House Noodles at the Taste of Hong Kong except EPCR's noodles were quite soggy -- was a bit disappointed to find that out.. You can get the same level of food quality for less ($$$) at the Taste of Hong Kong. I ordered sweet sour pork, roast duck and house noodles. The sweet sour pork was almost completely fat-filled, roast duck was mostly lean (the duck I got must've gone through some vigorous training prior to being slaughted - lol j/k). House noodles like i said was a disappointment with noodles that were soggy. I could see myself going back if I'm craving for Chinese food and if I don't mind spending extra but I'll stick with Taste of Hong Kong or Wong Kung Restaurant in Waipahu. read more

I came on April 27th for a late lunch and the restaurant was fairly open. -We ordered quite a lot of food and we had left overs for days! I didn't realize the portion sizes were meant to be shared as I went crazy with the ordering. -Peking duck: The server had made the duck with the black bean sauce and green onions for us to eat which I thought was really nice. But, the duck by itself was rather chewy. The black bean sauce was a bit too salty after awhile to. But, the bao buns I think that's what they were tasted pretty good. Not my favorite dish though I wouldn't reorder it. -Sweet and sour fish was delicious. It was crisp and came with a great sweet and tangy sauce. One of my faves and I'd order this again and highly recommend it. -The Mongolian beef was good as well but it had way more onions then beef itself. I had onion breath for days! -The garlic eggplant dish was one of my favorites as well. This was very good as well and I highly recommend it! -Lastly, we had ordered the walnut shrimp which was tops as well. The crunchy batter matched with the walnuts and its sauce paired very well. I could eat that shrimp with rice by itself and be full and satisfied. -Other then the chewy duck the rest of the food was great. The service was outstanding as well. It had been a while since my wife and I dined here but we generally thought their food is OK...so it was somewhat of a letdown when we dined here recently and experienced some less than flavorful entrees. I normally order one of their fried rice dishes (and recall they can't seem to get it spicy enough to my taste) and have had no issues with it. My wife would normally order egg foo young or moo shu pork and generally like it. Tonight we decided to order one of their house specials, me with their Mongolian beef with steamed rice and my wife sampled their Crispy Gau Gee Mein. We were served glasses of iced water and some hot tea with our meal. Our orders came quickly. The Mongolian beef was on the sweet side and did not match my expectations...but that was actually better than the gau gee mein. The crispy gau gee, something akin to fried won tons, was served on a bed of lo mein noodles with pork, beef, shrimp and vegetables in what tasted like flavorless oyster sauce. The gau gee themselves were also flavorless and we had to resort to adding some onions and dried peppers from the Mongolian beef dish to make them palatable. All in all, a very disappointing experience. Maybe there was a reason why we hadn't been back in a long while...and now I've documented the reason with this review. Dinner for 2 with tip came to less than $27. read more

The chicken had good flavor but lacked the spice that you normally find with this style. The menu even indicated that this was a spicy dish but I found it to be more sweet. The fried rice was ok but did not have as much flavor as it could have. I might order from here again due to the location and convenience but I would definitely try something else on the menu instead. read more

We eat her quite often, mostly take out. The customer service is great, and they are always on time with their orders. When ever I call on the phone to make an order the staff is always very friendly and professional. The food is also very delicious. I recommend any of their fried rice dishes, their Beef Chow Fun (Dry version is my preference, but they also have one with gravy). Their egg fu yong with shrimp is also very good! I never have to wait very long for my order, usually it's ready sooner than they estimate it to be. The dining room is also very clean, although right now dine in is not available. The restaurant was pretty empty, we got excellent service because it was so slow. We had a party of 8, and had a great time during dinner, food was good and we did not feel rushed out of there. Server was upselling us, so we end up taking home desert like tea cookies, mochi and shrimp chips. The tea cookie was stale but who cared, its been slow so some of the food might sit for awhile. I've always been interested in trying their food. I ordered the dinner plate. It wasn't that good. It tasted like leftovers from the day or two before and there were more bones than meat. When my Grandma was alive Ewa Pointe was one of the places she loved to eat at. We would go there at least 3 times a month. Their food is very tasty. I love their egg fuyoung, and the sauce that they give with it. Another one of my favorites is the Chinese chicken salad. They give a decent amount of serving. Their entrees do not come with rice so you would have to order a side order which is huge. The service here is always excellent. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Our utensils weren't washed very well and had to ask for another set. The food was very bland. The wontons were mostly wonton and a tiny bit of meat. Our waters weren't refilled regularly and the waitress didn't seem to be paying much attention. She didn't ask how we were doing at any point so we waited a long time for the check. I haven't returned to this resturant since 2013, didn't like the food then, their menu prices did not match the quality and the manager was not opened to discussion as he thought their food was excellent. Well today, we went back to give it a try once more & we totally regretted it! First, the resturant was packed w/customers, no social distancing. Secondly, the woman who took our orders barely spoke proper English and I couldn't get any questions answered so I quickly pointed the items I wanted from the menu. We ordered take-out, General chicken $10.95 & Garlic chicken $11.95, both just entrées so nothing else comes w/it. These items are typically served at all Chinese restaurants so I'm very familiar with how it should taste. The Styrofoam containers are small and the food were just warm, didn't taste like they were freshly cooked. Both meat items were over saturated w/sauces and General chicken were cut up in the tiniest pieces, couldn't tell if it was actually chicken and too chewy. Did not taste any garlic in the Garlic chicken and the sauce was so salty. Again, we were disappointed. No more, quality and prices are much worth it at fast food "Pandas"! read more

Had a large dinner with 40 people here on a Saturday night. Our whole family enjoyed the food and the service. For most of our party it was their first time eating here and many commented at how quickly the food came out and we were never really waiting for the next dish to arrive. I called ahead of time and made the reservation and was instructed to call the next day to discuss the menu with the manager who would be there during our dinner. When I called, she was very easy to talk to and helped us out a lot. We went with the Party Menu Special but made a few changes. On the day of we got there early and I let them know I had a reservation and they told me which tables we had. They waited a little and the manager came to me close to our reservation time and asked when we wanted to start. Service was good and they didn't sound mad when talking to us (like it can be at other restaurants). It was easy to fit our party's five strollers around our tables. I mentioned them when I spoke to the manager about our menu and she said it would be no problem. They also did not mind the noise while we were having fun taking photos with babies. (Imagine trying to get their attention lol). In terms of food, my husband really likes the Garlic Shrimp Fried Rice. The portion is on the small side but still worth getting. The noodles are good. There's a lot of meat and vegetables in the house noodles. The noodles alone can feed a family of six. The won ton soup is separated into two; soup and meat/vegetables. The soup will probably feed two people. The food is priced well. Most items are less than $10 each. I also noticed they have lunch and dinner specials for less than $10 as well. The specials seem like a great deal since you'd get a variety of food. My friend was in the mood for eating Chinese food so I met her at Ewa Pointe Chinese Restaurant in Ewa Beach. Upon entering the restaurant there were no customers at all & I thought it was sorta strange since it was still lunch time. But my friend insist that the food is really good. She was absolutely right about the food. It was very good & tasty. We had the steamed pork hash with duck egg, ginger chicken & some kind of noodles. More improvement on service would make this place better & the workers should wear cleaner aprons. I lose my appetite when I see workers with food all over their apron. Delicious Food and great service! We didn't have just one server, it seemed everyone was looking out for us if we needed anything. Loved that the meal came with tea. This was the worst Chinese food that our family has eaten. The seafood soup with extra vegetable was simply eggs in broth with a few carrots/peas and probably 2 pieces of shrimp cut up into tiny pieces. The eggplant and tofu was so saturated with a salty oyster sauce that the vegetables didn't even taste like vegetables. The beef and watercress was over cooked and bland. The shrimp canton and sauce was probably the only thing that taste decent- if you can overlook the tiny pieces of shrimp in a what seemed like double battered shell. Be cautious with what you order. You get less than you pay for and i would rate this restaurant, mediocre at best. Good luck with your experience. read more

I ordered this delicious small pan of Jumbo Honey Walnut Shrimp, and small pan of peanut butter/azuki bean mochi for my mom's birthday. Amazing, jumbo honey walnut shrimps, really mean it, the size of the shrimps are really big, crunchy, yummy. As for Mochi, I could never imagine Chinese Restaurant sells Mochi, but believe me, they are the best Mochi on the island. And when I picked up my food, I noticed they even opened for dine in after one year of takeout during pandemic. Definitely coming back to dine in with my family. read more
