Great service and attention to detail on their work. I had brake issues and Shawn aka Sung the owner/manager took care of it with extra work which he didn't charge for . Normally I do not write review or have patience for a survey. However, this one deserves few minutes of my time. Making an appointment for an estimate was painless. The estimate for my car was very honest and fair. How do I know? After shopped around three other body shops then I've kind of figured out who is trying to squeeze me for more. I picked up my car yesterday as prior scheduled. The work done at Excel Auto Body was SUPERB!!! Later I found out how they match my slightly fainted car paint was by using a high-tech scanner. No one is able to tell the "resurface" area, like it "never happened". The shop manager (Shawn) told me that they are also the designated body shop for many car dealers in the metropolitan area. Last year, i got into auto accident and had pretty extensive front end damage to my 2007 Honda Accord. Upon recommendations from my Nationwide Insurance agent (Ben Jung Nationwide Insurance), I paid a visit to Shawn Kim at Excel Auto-body for repairs. I have nothing but great things to say. The estimate that was given was spot on and actually LOWER on the final bill. After dropping off my car to start work, he personally drove me to the Enterprise down the street to get a rental. After about a week and half to gather parts and complete work, the end product was great. It looked like brand new honestly. At the end, Shawn even knocked off a substantial amount from the deductible. He is very honest and down to earth. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Excel Auto Body. Although I believe that the owner (Shawn Kim) tried to give us good service, ultimately the negatives outweighed the positives. Our 2004 needed minor body work in Nov 2015 after a fender bender. We found Excel from online reviews, and gave them a try. They did ultimately fix the bumper, and work with our insurance to cover extra costs, so that was good. BUT, it took over a week longer than originally promised (an extreme inconvenience to go so long without a car), and afterward we found that they replaced the grill with an aftermarket part that did not fully match the original, without ever checking with us. Worst of all, they botched a secondary repair. Since we had it in the shop anyway, I asked them to look at a warning light on the dash and also the driver's side window, which wasn't always closing properly. I had to ask them 4 times to get them to look at these things. Then they not only failed to fix either one, they also actually broke the console that holds the lock/window buttons on the door! I do wish to reiterate that they tried. When I picked up the car, Shawn showed me the part he had ordered but ultimately not put in trying to save us money (which was nice), and the other work they'd done trying to fix both issues. But ultimately they only partially fixed our car (just the initial body work -- not fully matching), kept it way too long, broke another (very minor) part, and left us feeling that they mean well but cannot be trusted to do a good job. read more

After a month of fighting with my insurance company and the bodyshop that they sent me to after an accident, I was recommended to Shawn (the owner) by a personal friend. My car had been declared a loss by the body shop that my insurance company had sent me to and I desperately wanted a second opinion, and Shawn said that they were lying to me, and trying to steal my car. I had been jumping through flaming hoops trying to get my car back, and Shawn was able to get my car out from them and to his shop, where he fixed it like new. He gave me an honest price, and kept me well informed of the progress, which the old body shop did not do at all. I'm never going anywhere else for my maintenance. Recently took my girlfriend's car to Shawn Kim at Excel Auto Body and boy did he get it right. From his initial communications with me, to his seamless interaction with the insurance company, to his continued updates on the progress of the car...the fellas at Excel went over and above. Having dealt (and been disappointed) with luxury car garages before, I was shocked and surprised by the professionalism of Mr. Kim. Not only did he work/fight hard to make sure that the insurance company paid for every bit of damaged done to the car, he also cleaned the car inside and out, and personally stayed at the office late so that we could come pick up the car as soon as it was ready. I took my car in a few weeks ago to get some bodywork done on my Acura. I got estimates from two other shops and Excel gave me the best quote so I decided that based off that and the online reviews I would give them a shot. I was not disappointed!
