Downstairs it is a bit of a trendy shop that isn't really up my street, but the staff are dead on, friendly and non intrusive. Upstairs it is a bit of a one-stop shop for school clothes. I was awarded honours for Drama when I was at school and went here to buy the special blazer, it was £90 which was a bit of a rip-off, but it was the only place you could buy the blazers so I don't really blame them for marking the prices up. Other than being a bit overpriced at times this is a good wee shop

Baillies is a Bangor institution and has been around for over five decades, supplying the young, old and men somewhere in between with suits, trousers, shirts, t-shirts, jackets, coats and knitwear. Despite the prices being of a slightly higher nature, Baillies often has really good discounts (hence why my dad loves it so), and you'll find yourself surprised at the bargains available. And yes, I know you're thinking I'm female (and you'd be perfectly correct), but I've been in Baillies many times before...with my dad of course. If you're a pupil at one of Bangor's schools, you can be sure to find your uniform at Baillies. I can't speak for this aspect of the shop, as I went to school in Belfast, but it seems Robbie (the previous reviewer) has a fair grasp on everything school uniform related, so I'll let you read his for information about that. While it may look intimidating from the outside, the guys inside this heavily wooden panelled step back in time are so friendly and helpful. As a woman it feels like all men's clothes look the same, but these guys will help you through the cuts and shapes or whatever these shirts are called with warmth and knowledge. OK, they aren't the cheapest menswear shop in town, but with their old club feel and service, they are up amongst the classiest.

The staff in here are extremely knowlegable and very professional. My mum bought my Dad a shirt from here and for whatever reason she had to bring it back and when she did she said that the service she recieved was really, really top class. She said that she can usually find places like that intimidating but the staff in here made her feel at home and at ease. You can get all sorts of stuff in here. From wedding suits to cufflinks and beyond. They have an excellent website that will talk you through all you need to do. Really professional and excellent service from start to finish.

There are plenty of brightly coloured, highly written on t-shirts, shirts and jumpers in here for the man who wants to look like everyone else. They do also stock ladies wear although there are only a few pieces in tiny sizes and only suitable for the girl who dares to bare. The shoes are also either over priced flip-flops or towering platforms - nothing sensible really in clothing or shoe ware. I suppose a good place to take a teenager to get trendy clothing but mind your wallet as it is expensive.

I would not tend to buy clothes from this shop but I have hired formal wear from this outlet. They are pretty lenient with the rules. I brought my suit back a day late covered in booze and god knows what else and they did not charge me an extra penny. I think they even uttered the phrase, "it happens!" It is refreshing to have a company being reasonable and human with it's customers. The price is really good too staring from £30 for formal wear hire.

They are currently selling suits from £25,.good quality stuff too, to make room for a refurbishment. And it's in need of one too. Only one changing room, and the store - downstairs at least is quite cramped and coed with stock (although that could be because of the sale). The two sales staff were very helpful and attentive, as you would expect from a suit retailer). All in all I had a pleasant experience shopping here. They did try to upsell me more items, but that is also to be expected and they weren't pushy about it. I got a very nice, good quality grey suit for £31 (I'm paying the extra £6 to have the trousers altered) and I will definitely be back there to shop again!

The Mills found new life by redeveloping the site to create a retail centre. The 'anchor store' is Tynwalk Mills department store featuring high end clothing and home goods. Adjacent stores include a gourmet deli, two cafes, a flower shop, a toy store a weekly farmers' market (Thursday) and more. We had lunch at the Neb Cafe, which was very good. The shops are wheelchair accessible and there is plenty of parking. The setting is lovely, they also have a picnic area and playground, something for everyone!

This place focuses on high quality and premium brands like the likes of Levi's, Hilfiger's and Superdry. But the bigger bone of contention for me is the quality of the goods in store. Sometime you can find some great looking t-shirts, jeans or hoodies from here. The downside is that the vast majority of the time you will not get the size you want unless you are extra small or large as they don't keep large amounts of stock. Also a lot of stuff in here is on the chav side of the clothing spectrum with garishly decorated tee shirts, the likes of which you see people starting fights outside bars up and down the country starting fights in every single week. This place is worth a look, but prepared to be disappointed!

So I would like to politely add my experience. My husband and I, having been customers of Cuba for quite a number of years, have always been pleased by the excellent service we have received there. The staff are helpful and are willing to lend an honest opinion on the goods you are buying. When buying for my husband, the staff are confident and ready to help advise me on sizing and style. On the very rare occasion that something has not suited they were willing to exchange or refund the item when returned in an appropriate time. The range of labels has changed over the years (I don't recall this store ever doing hillfiger?) but I think according to our tastes it has always been great. If you don't want a heavily garnished t shirt, the staff are willing to help you find alternatives, as that is really not my husbands style. We buy quite a lot of Jack and Jones stuff from Cuba (as they do competitive deals on t'shirts) and my husband has also recently bought a competitively priced yet good quality suit for work. I enjoy shopping in Cuba because they keep you updated as to when new stock comes in. The latter review mentioned the lack of some sizes, although I have always found that these tend to be placed on clearance rails to make room for new stock, which is quite often. It is reassuring to know you are not getting the drabs that have sat in store for months. I would recommend that curious customers check it out, if the staff can't help you find what you are looking for they will generally recommend somewhere you can find it! I think they are quite confident in what they sell.

And you can honestly say to whoever is with you 'I only need to go to one shop.' Genius. Each shop really is small but they manage to have a good selection and little bits of everything. Tempest is a really good one stop shop when you need an outfit in a hurry. The only little niggle is that if you try on and want to buy a selection of things from different brands, you have to go to separate till points to pay for them. If they get that sorted, it'll be pretty darn perfect.

Its all clothes for people who have an eye for mainstream fashion and who want to have something to wear on the beach or a night out. No big deal really. This place is what it is, you kind of know what is going on and what you are going to get. There is nothing for anyone who is either male or outside the mainstream. Alas, if you like TopShop this is the place for you.
