In fact I prefer to travel the distance just for the excellent quality of care offered at Marian Lewis. I have never felt more comfortable in a dentist's chair. I've always been very anxious under the drill but I found myself falling asleep while the drill droned and carved my crown. What impresses me most is the extremely high level of professional care; the cutting edge technology the teams work with; their knowledge of new and innovative treatments not yet available in many UK dental facilities; and their genuine care for my personal well-being. The facility is clean, comfortable and comely - not your clinic-cum-NHS feel. Clients are often given small dental gifts to take away to help them maintain good post-treatment hygiene.

I had to ask to see how much the cost would be for the whole process. Wonder what would have happened if I didn't!? Happy with my new one on London Bridge Dental Practice on Tooley st. No fuss. The previous dentist I saw was more of a salesman than a healthcare provider. I have never found a more passionate dentist than the dentist here. She was very thorough and gentle during the hygiene procedure. She took her time providing the treatment, as well as educating me about my problem. Her knowledge was broad but easy to understand. It made me feel confident to entrust my dental health to her care. It is also noteworthy to know that she did not up sell any unnecessary dental treatment. Overall, wonderful experience. And so, nearly a decade went without me paying a visit to the dentist. They're scary. DRILLING noises can be heard. The only time I want to hear drilling noises is outside my house at 7am, and even then that's not a good thing. But, when toothache started making me cry, it was pretty obvious that I wasn't going to get by on tea and sympathy. Of I walked up the massive hill to here (they're NHS after all), I signed a form and then popped back again the next day. Up the horrid hill AGAIN (seriously, it's steep and about a mile long). And then these things happened... Mr. Dentist was cute. Mr. Dentist was friendly. Mr. Dentist told me I would be fine. Mr. Dentist didn't laugh when I cried (really, I did cry). Then he gave me drugs. Really really good ones. All for £16.

I made an appointment with B Dental for a check-up due to a great toothache on February 22nd 2022…read moreand got received by Dr Ryan for a check-up. During the appointment, Dr Ryan inspected my teeth and took some scans where he could see a cavity in between my premolar and molar on the right bottom side but couldn't tell me what it was. I mentioned the really painful toothache and said that I needed to see a hygienist and a periodontist and that after the hygienist appointment, the pain would go away after 1 week or so and that I quote 'shouldn't loose sleep over it'. I asked for antibiotics and/or painkillers and was told this wouldn't be necessary. I was charged £109.50 for this appointment where I got nothing except from the referral to the hygienist and periodontist I got my appointment with the hygienist 2 days after and only managed to get an appointment with the periodontist for 1 month after (29th March). I had the appointment with the hygenist where she spent an hour cleaning my teeth, not mentioning anything and was charged £131 for this. The following week, the pain kept on intensifying and as I wasn't told anything, I kept on taking painkillers thinking that the pain would go away but every 4 hours, the pain could come back and up to my ear and down in my neck and back - it was becoming very difficult to sleep and the pain was insufferable. I called reception on 3rd of March to try and understand what could be done and if I could get an emergency appointment with the periodontist. Following my call, I was prescribed Amoxicillin and a fluoride toothpaste without context that I went to get right away. I called again 4 days after (7th March) having started the antibiotics as the pain wasn't going away and I was struggling to work at all and I needed to see a dentist right away. I was suggested to see Dr Ryan again but due to the poor diagnosis that I got during the first appointment, I refused and decided to visit another practice. I managed to get an appointment the next day to another practice where in the dentist did exactly the same as Dr Ryan, took some scan and examined my teeth - he found out that I had fractured my lower right premolar and that I had a cavity and an infection and that I needed my tooth to be taken out emergently. He also noticed that I had two cavities on my left upper molar and left bottom molar - something that both Dr Ryan or the hygienist at B Dental failed to let me know of or gave me the options to have fillings. In the end I had my two fillings and my tooth removed the next day and given Augmentin as Amoxicillin was apparently too weak for this type of infection. I paid £240 to B Dental for them not to be even capable of telling me that I had two cavities and a potential infection/facture of my tooth and I would like to be compensated as I had to spend another £150 on an emergency dentist appointment as I wasn't treated properly the first time.

I tried to get an appointment with them for urgent treatment for this but they said they couldn't do 'general dentistry' and could only do the work that my NHS dentist had referred me for so please do be aware of this if you are an NHS referral. I then had to make the decision to cancel the implant work as I was looking for a dentist I could work with to get all the work I needed including dealing with issues other than the planned implant work. I had posted a more detailed review here but was forced to remove this as B Dental instructed lawyers against me to take this down. I was in my honest opinion very disappointed by this treatment and if I could have afforded to fight this and instruct lawyers to defend myself I would have done. Such a shame it turned out this way as the dentist was fantastic and I was so looking forward to getting the treatment.

But the time came and we had the insurance so off we went. I was holding off on writing this review until I had some real work done by Dr. Dickson. So yesterday I went on line to his handy dandy appointment website and booked myself in to have a cracked filling replaced. I think he is the best dentist I have ever had. My cleaning was actually pleasurable. No blood. My filling replacement well, it was dental work so I can't say it was pleasurable. What I can say is that apart from the Novocaine shot I didn't feel any pain. Even now that the numbness has worn off I feel totally fine. My filling feels very natural and like the old one when I bite on it. You know how sometimes you can just tell that someone is good at what they do? I get that feeling here. I think he is not only good at being a dentist but he really likes it and wants to make you as comfortable as possible. I also like that he really explains what is going on so you know what treatment you need, what treatments can wait and what is really important. Plus I can say that he is the first dentist ever to not mention my tongue piercing. Usually I get a lecture. Nope, nothing. Thanks again Dr. Dickson!!

Dr Chris Orr and his team did not dissapoint, in fact they exceeded my expectations. Dr Orr also runs a training academy for dentistry which is probably why he was very good at explaining to me each part of the process of creating my perfect new smile. Dr Orr listened to what I wanted to achieve with regards to the appearance of my teeth, and his dental Nurse Egidija ensured that I was totally comfortable at all times. I couldn't recommend Chris and his team highly enough. My teeth look really natural, and so many people have commented on my new look. Don't hesitate in visiting the Advanced Dental Practice, the clue is in the name, Dr Orr is at the top of his game when it comes to cosmetic dentistry!
