I contacted them about some basic questions related to my US taxes (not complicated, just needed an…read moreexpert's advice). I paid in advance for a consultation with a US tax consultant, as advertised, and had an appointment scheduled. They contacted me the night before the appointment to say that they don't actually do US taxes, but their sister company does (effisca??), but it would cost twice as much. The time of the appointment came and went - I was never contacted about it to say it was canceled or postponed. I was contacted the next week to set up a new appointment with their specialist but they never sent me a link to the meeting so I missed it (apparently they had just put it directly into my google calendar without any sort of notification). when I finally got my appointment, the specialist hadn't reviewed my questions in advance and had to googling it during our meeting (which I am capable of doing myself), and gave me the wrong answer. I ended up filing my Canadian taxes incorrectly (the review by my tax software caught the mistake for my US taxes) because he didn't understand the answer to a very basic question that he had to google. Zero stars, do not recommend.

Mr. Frackt met with me and took the time to review our situation, and provided clear, helpful advice that was easy to comprehend. Ultimately, we did not hire him--although he said he would be happy to have our business, he encouraged me to continue filing our own taxes as it wasn't as complicated as I'd feared (thanks to his insight) his fee would eat up the modest return we were expecting. Thanks to his patience and advice, I gained the confidence to continue doing my family's taxes myself, and I also got great insight to maximize our return. And Mr. Frackt didn't even charge me anything! He is a reliable, trustworthy, and experienced accountant, not mention a charming person. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I didn't end up using his services!
