Were were passing through Northville on a beautiful summer day and saw the bg outdoor seating area, so we decided to give it a try. The hostess told us that there was an additional outdoor seating area on the roof, so we headed up there and it was fabulous! My wife loves a good pulled pork sandwich and she said the one here was excellent. The balsamic chicken wrap sounded unique, so I gave that a try and reall enjoyed it. The fries and onion rings were both good, but a little too crispy for my taste (but wife loved them). Definitely a spot I would visit again! read more

The food was not good. The fries were hard to bite into, and chewy once I bit into them. They tasted like they had been sitting out for a long time - which is hard to believe given it was only noon. The buffalo sauce and bleu cheese crumbles were good, but they were just window dressing on a pretty terrible chicken sandwich. It was a very small chicken breast, and WAY overcooked - super dry in the middle, and burnt on the outside. The fish was flaky. But the breading on it was soggy and mushy. It made for a very unpleasant meal. My son - who devours everything in sight most meals - didn't finish the two pieces of fish, and only ate a few of the nasty fries. Rooftop is the place to be. Foods pretty good. However the construction noise is TERRIBLE and could barely hear the person next to me. Also a waitress (not ours) had the most awful attitude the entire time. I walked in and started to go upstairs and she says "umm can I help you?" I said I'm going up to the rooftop like I normally do. She goes "well you need a table" I'm like yes, my friend is already here. She essentially questioned me about that and I again repeated he was already seated up there to which she rolled her eyes. Later on, while we were sitting at the long communal table, was sunny and very hot. I needed to get out of the sun for a minute so I wouldn't burn. She angrily walked over to the table I sat at for a minute with an umbrella and shade. She told me to move and go back to where I was sitting. She said I couldn't sit there because I had already picked the communal seating. All in all she had a nasty attitude and was very young. It was like she kept trying to find a reason to confront me about nothing. Not sure if it was a bad day for her or not but don't know if I'll be back anytime soon which is a shame since I've lived in northville my entire life and have been going there since it was Pools. read more

Stopped in for lunch after a walk at Maybury State park. Have been here many times and never had a bad meal. Anjeleta was our server and she was very prompt and made sure to check on us often. We had the Southwestern salad, turkey burger, and corned beef sandwich. Not a bad bite in the bunch. Turkey burger was cooked perfectly and came with enough fries for all 3 of us. It comes with granny smith apple slices and a slice of white cheddar. Very tasty additions. The Southwestern salad was quite large with very fresh ingredients. Ann did not share and ate it all. Corned Beef sandwich was great. Very tender corned beef, Swiss cheese and a tangy thousand island sauce. A very good meal and this is a go to place in my book. read more

We beat the rush on a recent Friday and ended up with a great table outdoors, in the shade. The warmth of the day was quickly transitioning to a relaxed, comfortable evening. I checked the menu beforehand and decided on having the chicken breasts topped with pesto sauce and served with asparagus. I had not planned on ordering an app like the old-school potato skins, crunchy mozzarella sticks, or saucy wings. However, while we chatted, I noticed the nachos ordered by a nearby table and my initial good intentions flew out the window. The crispy tortilla chips were loaded with beef, warm and creamy queso, black beans, and pico de gallo. It was so good that we dove right in without taking a picture. Food 5/5: we started with the nachos, lots of toppings and the salsa is a-maz-inggg! We chose beef as our protein, they also have chicken or pork as options. I got the balsamic chicken wrap (comes with fries) yum! Husband got the burger (also comes with fries). That was gone in about a minute it was good. Was over cooked for what he ordered but it happens, they were super busy. Grandpa got the walnut cherry salad, big salad with fresh salad greens, cherries, walnuts, blue cheese, onions, and tomato. He ended up getting Italian dressing instead but both dressings are good! Grandma got the Turkey burger (comes with fries too), and that has green apple and white cheddar on it. Was juicy and delicious! Their fries are thinner and crispy, I added salt and pepper and they were extra yummy. We saw some sweet potato fries come out and those look so good. Saw some ribs come out, and those look amazing, might have to try those next time. The steak bits, served with hummus, might be something we have to try too. I'm intrigued on what kind of soup(s) they have, and if their vegetable orzo is good. Service 5/5: our server, I believe her name was Andrea, did an awesome job. She was attentive and very kind, putting up with grandpas (sometimes awkward) remarks. She kept our drinks up and brought everything we needed quickly. With how busy she was, she did an amazing job. Also saw the manager working hard to get tables ready for the next set of customers. Love to see a manager that is willing to do the "dirty" work too. Ambiance 5/5: The bar inside is very nice and seems to be well kept up. We sat outside and the patio area is awesome. Dogs are allowed, which I love. It's mostly fenced in, lots of tables with umbrellas, and under the "awning" there's fans to keep the air moving. Our table was a bit wobbly but wasn't bothersome when it came time to eat. The service is friendly, fun, prompt and attentive. The ambiance is attractive with the heated/cooled outdoor seating and spectacular lightning. Options for indoor seating or a nice large bar seating are comfortable as well. The noise level on a scale of 1-10. Ten being noisy has been an 8 consecutively during my experiences. read more

I haven't been to the Exchange until today. I liked the old Pooles tavern and Stubbornly boycotted it. My mistake. The atmosphere is really nice. They dramatically improved the patio and the rooftop seating and bar is really nice. Several things on the menu looked good but I tried the burger because I wanted to compare it to pooles burger which was awesome. I wasn't disappointed. It was really good and the fries were fantastic. Server was very nice and they seemed to to work together as a team to provide good customer service. Final note.... I go out for hamburgers and fries. I like my fries well done, but I like my hamburger medium. They do a great job in getting my order exactly how I wanted i. Healthy/low cal but tasty isn't plentiful in Northville and you can add proteins or warm naan bread to jazz it up if preferred and ask for toppings on the side. They also offer hummus and crudités as a side to things like beef tips or a roasted vegetable orzo side. - great beers on tap- I had the orange whip! - fabulous covered outdoor patio for Covid concerned or just a nice place to sit -open when other good choices in town are NOT. I've eaten here multiple times and I've always had a positive experience. Exceptional service with the waitresses checking in regularly . The ribs are exceptional and a great price as you can get a half rack for half the price of a full rack compared to other restaurants that make the half rack price close to the full rack. Met up with a friend for lunch here a few days ago. The location was formerly Poole's Tavern. There is a ton of outdoor seating, some of which was partially enclosed and open for seating even in the cold. Since it wasn't crowded we took a spot at the bar. The inside is pretty plain, but I hear they're supposed to add a rooftop bar, which has be think there may be additional changes to the ground floor coming. Since it wasn't busy, we grabbed a spot at the bar. Exchange has a decent craft beer selection with some of the standard local options and a few national craft options such as Dogfish Head 60-minute UPA and Stone IPA. I had a burger, which was tasty, but didn't quite compete with other bar burgers in the area. Fries were nice and crispy, as they should be. Service was good throughout. I'm really looking forward to the rooftop bar if they still move forward with it. It has the potential to become the coolest spot in downtown Northville if they do it right. read more

My wife and I wanted to make a quick dinner out, and we chose this place. We decided to sit outside, because frankly, they said it was warmer than the inside, and it sure was! I think this is a big secret: there are so many heaters outside, that it actually was nicer in the enclosed patio, than the inside. I thought it was perfect. I have the Ruben and the french fries, and both were really good. French fries were outstanding. I've had better Rubens, but this was definitely acceptable, and I liked it. Ate at Doyle's Friday night after playing golf on The Little Cardinal. The atmosphere is really nice as is the live music. Service was v.e.r.y. s.l.o.w. Waited for drink refills for a ridiculously long time then the server made excuses. It's ok...just own it. One person ordered Irish stew. She liked it but was not given a spoon to eat with and ate it with a fork as no server checked back with us to see how things were. One person's fries were cold....no mayo and no server to bring any. The checks were wrong and one guests wine was on wrong check....server moved it but to another person's check not the proper consumer. NBD but not what I would expect as the resort tries to elevate the guest's experience from The Burger Bar. Presentation is beautiful...glassware was really nice. This was my 2nd time at this place. There were 11 of us for an early dinner and drinks. Everyone liked their food. Most had beer but I ordered a drink that supposedly had makers mark and soda! It was the most pathetic drink I ever had. I had two other people at the table taste my drink and both agreed that they could not taste the liquor. I took it back to the bar where the bar tender was rude and claimed that she had given me the right amount of liquor. To make a long story short, they eventually did not charge for my drink! Was never a huge Poole's fan and was happy to see the new Exchange Bar & Grill with its expanded space. But, sadly that is where the excitement ended. Our waitress had a bad attitude from the get go after we inquired about a Beer or Cocktail list. From there we were asked to get up from our seats and physically move the tables and chairs to fit in another party. First of all, one of the "movers" of said furniture was my 77 y/o mom that is unsteady on her feet. Secondly, there was enough room elsewhere to accommodate this larger party. At any rate, we ordered Old Fashioned's that arrived in a plastic Dixie Cup.
