    Magic!

It is about time that I share my love for Exchange Speciality Coffee. When I am in the CBD, like most people, I have my favourite coffee destinations. Exchange Speciality Coffee is one of those places. It is a place that I know I can rely on for good, strong and quality coffee! The service is always fast, friendly and inviting. I actually cannot walk past the place without stopping for a coffee. Groupie anyone? As for the menu, well there are a lot of really lovely items here. I have tried some of the sandwiches and cake. All very fresh and of high quality. I love a place that takes care in all aspects of their business. I cannot fault them. Also, I should mention for tea lovers that they have a really lovely tea menu as well. So they cater for all tastes. Which is important! As for the décor, it is minimalist. Which I love. They do not have to hide behind any fancy furniture or decoration. They are true and proud in their craft. Oh Exchange Speciality Coffee, until we meet again!

A delightful space serving top notch coffee from Sydney's Mecca, Melbourne's Market Lane and others further afield. I was lucky enough to visit when they'd had a delivery from Workshop coffee in London. A delicious Kenyan Aeropress got my heart racing with juicy berry flavours (admittedly I'd already had two coffees in the hour beforehand) and had I not already had an enormous breakfast I would have made a serious dent in one of their door-stop sized sandwiches. Staff were lovely and happy to nerd-out with me while chatting about coffee. A big thumbs up to the music too - featuring everything from Portishead to Active Child. Love love love.

Exchange is a hip specialty coffee shop on Vardon Avenue in the East End. Simply decorated, clean bright & white, there are a handful of tables and chairs inside and more outside on the sidewalk. A compact list of coffees spanning espresso to cold drip is complemented by Waterloo Teas, a few savouries and a few sweets to nibble on. Being indecisive types, we opted for the coffee flight, which, the friendly barista explained, is the current blend of coffee presented two different ways. An espresso and a latte were presented on a wooden board with a postcard explaining the origin of the coffee, the method and time of harvest, farming practices, roasting method and tasting notes. The espresso was strong and to my taste bitter but Mr Wino said it had a natural sweetness. I found the latte overwhelmed by milk. Service was friendly & quick, prices weren't bad, and if you stick with coffee styles that allow the flavours to shine (low milk) you'll have a good time.

    Skinny Cappuccino, delicious.

One word that I can use to describe this place is 'astounding'. The coffee there is brewed to absolute perfection, if you're within the vicinity I highly recommend you pop by and try a coffee out for yourself. The atmosphere of the shop is amazing also, they've got a 50's to 60's vibe going on inside, with wooden tables, metallic seats and awesome music. The actual menu is good also, with a relatively healthy selection of foods.

What an awesome place. Just breezing through Adelaide and decided to find good coffee. THIS PLACE HAS IT. They know their stuff when it comes to coffee. But aside from the fab coffee, I also tried the leavened pikelets and the Wallace sandwich. Both were really good and worth the visit alone. But what brings this place together is the shop fitout. It's pretty standard for cafes these days, but I really enjoyed the space, the staff and the great natural light. This would be my regular if I lived in Adelaide.

    Nice outdoor spot

Nice spot to sit for coffee and people watch. You're on the corner and the walls are glass so you will be pretty much facing the outside wall no matter what. One of the few places that make an actual flat white in Adelaide rather than a latte in a mug. Menu has done very delicious, albeit light, salads and some things on bread and muesli type items. Lots of nice looking cakes/tarts/cookies. Menu is always changing.

Great Coffee and breakfast in tucked away Vardon Place, Adelaide

Found this place looking for Yelp recommendations. It has lived up to hype. Small menu but easly covers all dietary requirements. Coffee really really good. I am watching the Barrista do his thing with precision

Exchange is located out the back of the old Adelaide fruit and veg exchange building. A really clean and modern facade with a warm and open interior. Had seen the pikelets on social media and had to try them out to see if they were as good as they looked. They were. Got a filter coffee to go with my brunch that was so flavoursome and confirmed all of the good word of mouth is heard about the coffee here. Turned a relatively hungover working Saturday morning into a fantastic day. Go here if you like good coffee, good service, and most especially if you like brunch.

1st on the special list, very mini bun but with a plentiful taste

I love here! They have lovely staffs, and glass walls which can let sunlight come in in the winter morning. I've only been here twice, and tried the "grilled pear, brie, rocket, onion, jam on a brioche bun", the filter brew coffee, a cup of soy flat white and the bircher muesli. I have to say except the filter coffee(maybe I'm not an authentic coffee lover...) I enjoyed every bite of the other three!! The bun, I thought it was too small for $7.5 but after I eat it, the size is just right for its rich layers flavour!! The soy flat white, It was such a glass of joy!(what? am I making sentences?) The Bircher muesli! My tongue told my eyes to close them to enjoy the first bite---it was heavenly good!!! the oats, the flaked almonds, the raisins, the fresh strawberry slices and the mint on the top!!! It was a perfect combination of moist, crispy, sweet and fresh!! I'm being emotional...it's just so nice to have a bowl of muesli a day before final exams! Oh and why I still rate 4 stars not 5? Maybe just because I miss my savory, hot, warm, soupy chinese style breakfast soooo much!!

The food looks so pretty and "photo genetic"! And I could taste the freshness of their materials. loved the interior as well- very minimal and simple, which brings you a relaxed feeling when you walk in. It would be nicer if they have more options on the menu~ overall I enjoyed my experience here, it would be so nice to spend some time here, with a coffee and some brekky!

Exchange Specialty Coffee really does know the way into a girls heart. It was a chilly morning in the city centre of Adelaide. Walking to Ebenezer Place is always a lovely experience, where you can always bump into the cutest and unique of places including, boutiques, cafes, beer bars and Exchange Speciality Coffee. The perfect Monday morning meeting went down like this: Friendly and welcoming service along with a side of delicious breakfast and aromatic coffee all in a warm, minimalistic and modern cafe. I'll be back for more ESC goodness!

Lovely little place with a clean Scandanavian vibe. Service was a bit slow on the day we were there. Food order of a Reuben took about 30 minutes to get to us. Espresso was okay, but didn't have any stand-out flavours. Maybe I was there on a bad day.

All the staff are passion foodies and will happily chat about different products on offer and let you try before you decide. They do an amazing trade at lunch time with their hugely popular baguettes. When I worked at Kent Town, I would drive past a dozen other sandwich places to buy my lunch here. There are 12 choices filled with all the yummy fillings you see in the display. They are made to order (they're pretty quick) so you can add or change any filling you like. Baguettes are around the $8 to $10 mark. Norwood Fine Foods is in the Norwood Mall next to Coles.

Stacked to the rafters with pantry delights (many of them local and South Australian), you'll spot olives, cheese cut to order, dips and so on, as well as gift packs for the food lovers in your life. Personally, I prefer to head down to the Central Markets for my small good needs (cheaper, more variety) but this place is a good second for a local option. They also yummy take away foods, like the baguettes that Rani mentioned. My hot tip: the kranskys here are GOOD. Yummy and made on the spot so they're fresh and good quality, though they don't offer a lot of toppings or chili sauce which makes me a little bit sad.

Needless to say it has haunted my dreams since, so today after a hard workout my husband and I biked over for lunch. The first thing that strikes you while approaching from Kitchener Street is the lush, inviting covered wrap around porch; there is plentiful and adequately spaced tables located here (so as not to be forced to overhear unwanted convos). Next, upon entering this clean and tidy cottage you will notice three separate distinct seating areas: the main dining area, a smaller dining area tucked away by the kitchen and pastry counter, and a delightful and welcoming covered deck. We were promptly greeted by one of the friendly staff and seated straight away. Tap water, glasses, and menus were waiting at the table and after an appropriate amount of time our order was taken and special requests confirmed. This place is really busy but it seems well managed; the staff is very attentive without being intrusive. As we waited for our order we noticed the bustling and efficient staff who worked like a well oiled machine - dirty dishes were quickly removed from tables, additional carafes of tap water were dropped off without being asked for, and patrons seemed relaxed, very happy, and satisfied. By meals' end we, too, were among those happy people. My husband ordered a sandwich that I struggle to recall the name ;( it was a hearty sandwich made from perfectly toasted sourdough, grilled chicken breast meat, swiss cheese, garlic aioli, a mix of tender and flavourful greens, and crispy bacon. I ordered the smashed avocado with feta on the same delightfully prepared sourdough. It, too, came with a generous portion of greens. We could not be happier with our newfound neighbourhood brekkie place. AND there is a coffee loyalty card to boot!

Much as it pains me to say, I really really enjoyed this burger experience…read more Why would it 'pain me' I hear you ask. Well I must admit kind of wanted to hate Grill'd. I wanted the service to be flawed and the burger to be rubbish because this franchised store is muscling in on the home turf of some fantastic, locally owned burger joints, all with brilliant back stories and great local connections (that being said, I am very aware that Grill'd do some great local initiatives at each store for local community groups). Grill'd is a Victorian franchise and we all know that there's a bit of an established rivalry there so I had plenty of reason to be apprehensive. So here's the tale of my first (and yes, certainly not my last) Grill'd visit; Even a week after their grand opening there was a line-up out the door - either people are keen to try something hot and new or these burgers are genuinely good (probably a little from column a and a little from column b). The line moved super quickly and soon we were at the front - ordering a Mustard and Pickled! beef burger and a Goats Cheese and Hummus lamb burger - there was a choice of bread - we chose the healthier looking wholemeal one and then topped it off with some 'famous Grill'd Chips' (a claim I though a bit bold considering I'd previously never heard of their fame....) Finding a table in the crowd was a little struggle but we grabbed one and not long after, despite the large number of orders, our food arrived. At first it looked a little too healthy - I get that it's a healthy burger joint, but when it comes to burgers there is a fine line...any how, the first bite took away any doubt I had in my mind. The mustard and pickle burger was divine - great flavours and delicious at every bite. The lamb burger was fantastic as well (please note I didn't eat ALL of both - I shared...) and to top it off, the seasoning on the chips has left me wanting more (the chips themselves weren't anything to write home about, but the seasoning blew my mind). After my meal I also felt great - not heavy and weighed down like I feel after eating some other burgers! There are many other options on the menu that I'm itching to try so with a heavy and a guilty conscious I will be returning to Grill'd in the very near future.

Cute kids burger deal in box but it wasn't a mini it was a big one cut in half! Steak sandwich would have been good had it have been on a toasted thin lepinja or whatever but it was on a giant bun. The "healthy" zucchini chips were battered and then fried. The sweet potato chips weren't battered but they were reheated so we're soggy yet still greasy and salty. You can't buy a side salad unless you buy a complete chicken salad meal (All salads have chicken, no other option). If you just want a burger and a beer then this place is fine off peak when it's not packed but it's not healthy or fresh. It just has great imagery but so does everywhere now. The staff are real nice and friendly much better than the other new boutique chains whose staff still have that less interested slap up burger joint feel. This chain is the 'Virgin' (as in Richard Branson) of the burger chains. The Norwood store has a great location. Bare in mind in terms of quick eatery options around now compared to say Argo across the road, I gave it 3 stars but compared to other similar burger joints its 4 stars (4.5 due to great staff, location and Reggae singers!)
