It's set off of the owner's residence but still feels very private. We used the hot tub each day and night and it was so relaxing. It felt like you were in the middle of the woods. I sat in the hot tub with a book and a glass of wine each night. The breakfasts were amazing! The owners were kind and personable without hovering. Breakfast was personally delivered each morning to our cottage. I preferred this over having to get dressed and hang out with other guests as we've experienced in other bed and breakfasts. The local area is cute with restaurants and a lovely bookshop called Intermission. You must check it out!

You approach the resort by dirt roads, but they are well maintained and no problem for our sedan. The Tesla nav system was accurate. We had no problems getting there and back. Kelly and Brian are excellent hosts. Brian can regale you with many anecdotes from Central Texas history, most of which I had not heard before, even though we've lived in the Lone Star State for 38 years. Our room was quiet, cool, and comfortable. The lobby is also quiet and is a great place to sit and read. There are two very sweet dogs that have the run of the place. We had a lot of fun interacting with them. You can walk the grounds and along the dirt roads with nearly zero traffic. I do recommend sturdy hiking boots, as cockleburrs are plentiful. There are also venomous snakes in this area, although we did not see any. Better safe than sorry. We will certainly return. The location is a bit confusing to find at first, but it gets easier to navigate the area once you've settled in. The views are breathtaking and I forget that I'm in Texas sometimes.
