It took 6 days to complete painting all our walls, ceilings, doors, trims, baseboards, moldings, fireplace and wall unit. Extra care was taken to cover all furniture and floors. Walls were sanded where necessary, patched where needed and requested picture holes plastered and covered. Basir and Caesar took great care in ensuring everything was perfect. I used to work for a builder doing home inspections so I had alot of blue painters tape around the house where items needed very small touch ups. Not one complaint from the painters. Just "no problem" and "of course" with smiles and everything was fixed to my expectations. Osman even provided some additional help at no charge! Anything heavy was moved away by the painters and then replaced once everything was dry. Claimed primer and two coats would cover an orange wall, but it didn't. Subsequently, they tried to charge us extra to cover their mistake. 3. A major part of the contract was removing wallpaper from one wall, applying a skim coat and painting. When they called us to perform a "final inspection" on their work, they had simply painted over the wallpaper and glue debris and hoped we wouldn't notice. We noticed. Three days later, they applied a skim coat, but left a large line in the middle that they neglected to sand. When we pointed this out, they refused to fix it and claimed it was impossible. 4. Sloppy work. Lines were not straight. Second coat not applied in several instances. Paint dripped in numerous places. In one example, they dripped paint on on a very expensive light fixture and damaged the finish when they removed the paint. 5. They promised to remove some silicone near the shower glass and paint, but subsequently declined to complete this job. 6. They made up excuses instead of rectifying the deficiencies. 7. After some back and forth about said deficiencies, we agreed to pay them a partial amount of the remaining balance on April 26th, 2020 to show good faith and ensure they would fix the deficiencies. As a result of this gesture they promised to rectify the errors. They then went back on their word and threatened to put a lien on the property.

I am writing this review about a new company that I contracted to paint the interior of my house…read more This is the condensed version. 1st off, they asked half down before beginning. Then, only 1 or 2 guys showed up everyday, some late and once they didnt show up at all. Later on we received a call from the owner that to cover up our ceiling, 2 coats would not be enough, as the ceiling would still have darker shades of white in areas and that we had to pay him $100 to get more paint. In the contract they only do 2 coats, any additional are extra charge. So if we told him that we were not paying, he would not get the paint and leave our entire ceiling an ugly mess. The helper's skills were at the level of a college student doing it as a summer job. They painted over everything, didn't remove things unless told and basically did nothing unless the head painter ordered them. On the 8th day, nothing was finished. We were freaking out as the entire house looked like a mess. What was supposed to be a 1 week job took 3 weeks. Owners excuse was that extra time was taken to third coat the ceiling and that we should stop asking the head painters questions, as it slows him down. On the last day, after rushing through the entire house, they told me to do a walkthrough of the house and point out imperfections for them to patch. Basically, what they meant was after rushing through the paint job, have me point out ALL the imperfections and they would only fix those up. They did not bother to do it themselves, in essence, holding me accountable for missing other spots. He made it clear that if there are minor things left, it's on me, only major things they would come back to patch. After paying him, the next day when the sun was out, I found out they left spots of paint everywhere on the ground floor (took me over 2 hours to clean), sanded walls that needed painting, half-filled holes and half left on, paint over knobs and stairs and doors that have brush strokes with darker tones of previous colour showing. This was because they diluted the primer and main colour paint as much as possible; the owner told me he was "making them stretch the paint", which was useless because it was just diluting it. All of these issues are minor, which means he won't bother if I called him to fix these. On top of this, they damaged the popcorn ceiling around my high ceiling light and rubbed off the gold coloured knobs (we had to stop the helper as he would have completely rubbed off most of the knobs) and broke our face plate because they drilled the #@$@ out of it. After breaking the first 2, we told the helper to stop. We told the painters that we would screw them back our selves. We also had to put back all the blinds ourselves as well. Imagine if we didn't do this, it would be another days of work with them. Although I have not covered all the bad experiences with this company, I would never recommend Your Empire Painting to anyone. They were a big headache for us. The owner provided a plethora of excuses every time we showed them when something looked off (paint bubbles, paint drops throughout the house that they blamed were from previous paint jobs, paints, paint on face plates and in the socket holes, wavy paint line throughout the border of the house, paint drops on windows). If we wanted them removed, we would have to pay extra. It was like talking to a brick wall, if you had a concern for something, he would turn you down and disagree with you. In the end, the final paint job was incomplete and looks like it was done by amateurs, which I have to say they are because I did not see a single trace of skill the 3 weeks I watched them. Save your selves the headache and a terrible looking paint job, pay a bit more and get actual professionals who know what they are doing to do the job, I know I will. The owner also told me minor stuff like this is common by painters, "go to the dollar store, get yourself a paint brush and just patch the little things that are left". Yes, I paid you $4000 so you could tell me to do the job you were supposed to do. He also said no one in the industry does what they do; walk around with them on the final day to take out any kinks. He said other painters just finish the job and leave, they don't care. This is coming from someone who toured my house with his painter who's been in the trade for 5+ years, who puts him to shame and they both couldn't tell how many coats the house needed and they both admitted to losing money on this job, something a professional painter who visited my house told me about ($4000 would just cover the materials and labour). So in the end, I will leave it to you to decide, maybe the lack of reviews on this company is a sign... They also left me a gift, a garbage bag full of empty paint cans and waste from the job hidden at the side of my porch.

When they were finished they also walked through the house with me to make sure I was satisfied which made me feel very reassured. The end result was beautiful; it was an interior job and the new colours look great! Communication with the company was also very easy, they always got back to me right away and always showed up on time (whether it was for the quote, or to actually paint my house).
