Had to make an errand after work so decided to try this spot while in the area. I wanted to soak off my gel nails and go natural for a couple weeks. So I walked in and was waiting for someone to acknowledge me. No one did. Finally after a few minutes, the gentleman who apparently is the manager of the salon, told me to sign in my name and wait. After 20 minutes, I was told I would be up soon after 35 minutes. I began to get a little agitated, but I saw that the shop was full so I remain patient. I did not get into the chair until an hour after signing in. It was then I got very frustrated because they could have offered me something to drink. they did not. They also could have multitask while I was waiting by soaking the gel off. It was then the manager gave me a bowl of acetone to soak again no offer Water no apology for the long way. I would've left, but it didn't make sense since I had committed so much time to waiting. Finally a gentleman began my feet and a young lady did my nails. They were both very kind patient and understanding because they knew that I had waited a very long time. My ManiPedi looks nice but look any different to how I would've done my own nails if I was at home. I'm not certain that I will visit again because this was a Tuesday and typically a low traffic day so I can't imagine revisiting on any other day. read more

This is my first time ever coming to this nail salon, but my mom had been here before and she enjoyed her pedicures here so we went. I got a pedicure and a manicure and she did as well. The pedicure was just fine. It wasn't anything special just gel nails. I was super unhappy with how my acrylic was done. It was clunky and chunky. I asked for coffin nails with a French tip in black and purple because it is almost Halloween. It was my first time ever getting French tip, and it was not well done. I went back and said how I did not like the shape and how the French tip did not look correct. The manager was extremely rude and had to attitude when I tried to express my concern. The guy who did my nails had an attitude as well and was trying to man explain to me why my nails were as ugly as they were. He slightly fixed the shape, but I am gonna go to my nail tech so she can make them look less ugly. Another customer overheard me complaining and told me that she and her daughter never use that nail tech because he has an attitude. It was not well done and they were upset. I should not have left a tip, but I was too frustrated and irritated to even think of a way to immediately Express my frustration. The entire shop needs an upgrade, but they won't see one anytime soon as long as they have that guy working there. He was the only man working when I was serviced. Exotica Nails & Spa 3425 Cascade Road, SW Atlanta, GA 30331 This nail shop injured my eye by being impatient. The manager hit the nail lamp over my hand because he really did not want to do the job in the beginning. When I first arrived he asked me what I wanted and I told him. The first thing he said afterwards is I'm not going to be the one to do it. When no one else was available he had to acquiesce involuntarily. He was hasty and frustrated. I was injured due to his haste. He refused, during the process to give me a towel to place under my hand. I asked. he said just don't press your arm down and it won't be hard. I asked again telling him the table was hard and uncomfortable (marble like). Again, he said just don't push your arm down. I looked around to see if other clinicians had towels under the arms of clients. They all had towels. When he got up to look for a color I walked off to retrieve a towel myself they usually leave by the sink where we wash our hands. I put my own towel down. It was a relief. He was short tempered and did not appear to care about the client but the money. It was a horrible experience. I signed the book and wrote how he injured me. He, in haste, hit the lamp which hit my eye. My eye was swollen for a couple day. I called for their insurance number and they refused to give it to my. I had to call my lawyer. They will not give it to my lawyer. I now have to file a claim at small claims court. Btw I did go to my eye doctor and primary care physician. Infact, I had a visit with my pcp the next day and it was they who questioned in disgust, "what happended to your eye???" Like Michael Jackson says "They don't really care about us!" They want those coins tho! Never been treated this way at any nail shop. Disappointed because we spend too much money with them. read more

I explained to her that it looked like I painted my own nails and theres nothing wrong with me advocating for myself when I'm the paying person.. she kept getting louder and louder until I had to literally tell her off for her to redo my nails.. this is by far the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. My coworker suggested that I check this place out, and I stopped by here after an event. I had to wait for about 20 minutes, and then I was directed to sit down at one of the pedicure stations and they came over to soak my nail. The signage in the shop is very unprofessional/polished--it's written on ruled loose-leaf paper (the kind you used to place in your binder at school) and written with a Sharpie. Several of the signs were hard to read because they were written (which looked like it was quickly) in differing sizes. While they have a few signs that shared that they offer complimentary beverages, I was not offered a beverage from either of my nail techs (best practice is to not have customers have to ASK you for a complimentary beverage--high-quality establishments usually offer it unprompted). The acetone to soak the nails was in a plastic bin that I was nervous was going to spill over on my lap, so I asked for a larger size. Luckily, my nails soaked off and my tech started the water, and I had to ask her to add some warmer water. Overall, the SNS was pretty solid---really smooth and natural, and I included a manicure with it to clean up my nail beds. One of my areas was not cleaned up, and he pulled at the excess skin and I started lightly bleeding. He then cut the excess skin with a cuticle nipper. My pedicure was a few steps below good and a few above sloppy--I had to ask her twice to clean up the nail bed. The first time I asked her, she painted more polish. The second time, I asked her to clean up the nail bed, and she started speaking to the nail tech doing my nails in their native tongue (which made me wonder if it was related to my requests). Ultimately, this is a fine place to go, however, their price for $108 for all of my services (I also got an eyebrow wax). For this price, I would have expected a more polished final product and without the need to ask several times to fix the issues. I just moved to the neighborhood and decided to try my local nail shop which was a bad move. I went on 2/2 to get a pedi which took forever. Then, I waited more than 15 minutes for my toes to dry only to discover a few hours later that my paint from my big toes were all smudged. I go back to get it repainted nice and they had an attitude with me even claimed I should have waIted until it dryed. I've been going to Exotic Nails for years. The main woman who helps run this one is Rose and she used to own her own salon by Greenbriar. She's been my mom's nail tech for at least 15 years now! Rose is great but very busy with a solid clientele which is why she may seem short sometimes. However, her work is always outstanding. I usually go to Lee or Lynn myself. They're both very sweet and VERY good at what they do. The other nail techs are great and always pleasant. Long wait times sometimes so I would call ahead and schedule an appointment if you want to go on a weekend for sure. Lee is also amazing at eyebrows or if you need a cleanup! Only $7. Definitely recommend this salon and I'll keep supporting for sure. :) read more

Ok. happened by this place and decided to give them a try because I always like to have a backup because I normally go to another Salon which is Q Nails! which is the best in the "A" but because of that they have an overwhelming amount of customers and rightfully so, so sometimes it's not easy to get in and get out so I went to this place Exotic Nails and I was OH SO disappointed! Nowhere near top-notch I would not recommend this shop by no means! They all seem to be amateur nail techs. I went and got a full set, typical right? Almost every fingernail was filed a different size. Omg. meaning one finger was filed narrow and others fat, tried to overlooked that but then when she finished oh and this is the nail tech with the dark hair that sits at the very back on the left in front of the refrigerator, that's filled with boxes of wine & wears the fake cc, Chanel necklace. that one. I look at the finished product and the Polish wasn't spreas evenly on my fingers and stopped short and not put at the end of the cuticle so that it already looks as though I needed a fill in before I even left the and that's a little trick that some amateur shops do to have you come back sooner than need be for fill in which I thought was pretty unnecessary because if you do great work people don't mind paying the price and will become a repeat customer but no need for cheap tricks and the clientel is 60 and above so you already know. I can't even recommend them for a fly-by-night shop to go to when you can't get to the better shop. I'm sorry your work speaks for itself and if you have "ANY" kind of event, that is NOT the "go to"! Very unhappy with my service. First off, for $31 for a mani/pedi one would expect quality service and a good skillset. I normally get my nails done on the east side (stone mountain, lithonia) for $21-$25 for a mani/pedi. The lady didn't want to scrub my feet when I asked her for the pumice stone and when I asked her to, she barely scrubbed my feet. I had to ask her to go in again to scrub them. Then, she was supposed to use a brush to get excess dead skin cells off of my feet and she didn't do it. I had to tell her to put oil on my legs and she tried to play me and just put cocoa butter on my feet. I have that at home so no, give me the oil. I got tired of telling her how to do her job! Then I asked for Matte polish and everything was fine. The people exchanged a few words and all of a sudden they said they'll have to charge me an extra $3 for a layer of matte polish. No thanks, I'll go to the store and buy it myself. For the manicure, he cut my nails too short and my fingers look nubby. To dry my nails, there was no thing you slide your nails/feet under to dry then faster (with the blue light), it was just a mini fan. I'm sorry but for $31 one would expect a $31 environment and service. They gouge you here. Not at all pleased and I would rather make the drive back to the east side. read more

I moved into the 30311 zip code in May of this year and began going to this nail salon since it was now the closet one to my house. In short, I have never ran into as much inconsistent service and poor nail jobs in my entire life. My most recent experience was today. A few days ago I went in to get an overlay on my natural nails and was assisted by nail tech Kevin. We went back and forth the whole time about what I wanted instead of just meeting my stated needs, problem #1. Yesterday my left index finger broke off at the tip, problem #2. Today the middle finger nail broke off at the tip, problem #3. Mind you, you don't have to be doing anything for your nails to break.. no cart wheels, no extensive cleaning... they will just break, and you'll look down and they'll be gone. I go in this evening and speak with the owner Rose. She tells me, "No problem he can redo." I inform her that yes, in fact it is a problem. It's a problem that at this nail shop ONLY, my nails break off more frequently than any person's should. It's a problem that I have to take time out of my day to sit in a nail shop all over again when I just got my nails done 3 days ago...all BIG problems to me. I proceeded to get my nails fixed by Kevin and he tells me.. "We tried it your way and now we will do it my way." WHAT??? Who says that? This is a customer service driven business where you're only job is to service customers to their satisfaction and that's the attitude you have. After being burned by the drill, I politely got up and told the owner Rose that I can not endure this type of service and that I would not be returning. I left!! Now this is not my first encounter with exceptionally poor service at this nail shop. Their nail techs could care less what you want as a client, don't want to fix their screw ups when they happen, and overall have no interest in the ultimate satisfaction of their customers.
