I was looking for a place to get a manicure so I consulted yelp and found Exotic Nails. Seeing the 5 star reviews, I made an appointment for 2pm. I got there 15 mins early and stood around waiting for someone to greet me... that never happened. So I just put my name down on the sign in sheet and sat down. It is close to 2:30 now.. no staff member even acknowledged my presence. I saw a bunch of other customers walk in and sit down with a nail tech immediately. I could understand the wait if I didn't make an appointment but I did! I got up, walked away and went to another nail salon. They did a great job for the same price WITH amazing service. Won't be returning here and never recommending this place to anyone! read more

I love exotic nails. Friendly, clean, and welcoming. The young lady who does my nails is very gentle and takes her time, and there isn't an akward language barrier (not that that's a major problem anyway, but it makes for a more comfortable experience) and she doesn't treat me like a part on an assembly line like at other salons. Even the clientele there us nice and we'll all periodically strike up a conversation between all of us as we're getting our nails done. It's really a relaxing and cheerful environment. Not too stuffy or quiet like other salons. Excellent work, very detailed and I always walk out of there happy and loving my acrillics! I love this place. I recently started getting my nails done again. All the staff is awesome. Very friendly. They talk & make the experience wonderful. I have never had anyone hurt my hands here compared to other locations. I have also never left bleeding from cutting my sin instead of a cuticle. They're all gentle. They treat you like humans and not "just a customer" like other places. They will laugh and joke with you and will ask you how things have been since the last time they saw you (yes they have a great memory). They moved to this location last year because business is booming and they needed more space. Plus they expanded. I get the shellac done on my nails. I can't function with acrylic nails since I work on computers. These I can function normally. Plus they don't damage your nails like acrylic does. I paid $27 plus tip for a full set then $15 for my toes to get painted. The toes were a bit pricey, especially seeing as how my toe nails are basically nothing, but when wearing flip flops in the summer, it's nice to have painted toes. There are TONS of colors to choose from. Pedicures and manicures are also done here. I had one years ago, but haven't gotten one since. When I go to get my nails done next week, it will be a bit more since they will be removing the current color. It's best to schedule an appointment rather than just walk in. This place works better with appointments because they're so busy all the time. The location is convenient and lots of parking. The floors are always clean and the sink area is always neat and not a mess considering people are constantly washing their hands here. read more

I walked into this small shop today around 12pm after a massage appointment across the street. I had some time to kill before lunch with a friend and their pedis were reasonably priced ($28+tax), so I decided to try them out. The staff offered me freshly made coffee upon entering and I was sitting down within five minutes. It appears to be family run, a mom and her daughter were working, at the time. I had a really good conversation with the daughter, who worked on me. Everything looked really clean and my pedicure turned out great. read more

I was told she would no longer do my nails because "I'm to particular" she stated I'm not worth her time!!! I'm in shock... I have never had such disservice in my life!!! This place is expensive for no reason. Paid $70 for a plain gel full set only to be left with nails that are not uniform in length, thick nails and one crooked nail . They charge you based on nail shape which is ridiculous. I would not be complaining about the price if they actually looked like nails that were $70 but they definitely do not . Will not be going back and would not recommend, there are so many other places that are reasonably priced that do a better job. read more

This place was not good. Very limited selection or polish that is not well taken care of or displayed. No nail samples to look at - you can only look at the bottles of color even for gel and dip. Booked appt for a dip mani - selection of dip colors very very poor and limited... I counted about 15 powders, all pretty out of date. The tech that did my nails seemed pretty unfamiliar with what he was doing. He had to ask other techs what steps came next a few times and had to re do a couple of my nails. I was also put off by the fact that the mani tools were just placed in what I assume was barbicide and not autoclaved and taken out of sterile packaging which is the norm at any other salon I go to. My dip mani was way thicker than I am used to and came off as being very heavy on my nail. After two days I had lifting because the mani went over the sides of my cuticles so I ended up just removing them at home. Waste of money. You get what you pay for! read more

This place has gone so downhill over the years. I went there for the sheer convenience because I live close by. Never making that mistake again. I walked in and was told by a nail tech that she could take me in about half an hour, which was fine because I had a few errands to run. When I returned, she took another woman before me, which I thought was weird. She told me that this other woman allegedly had an appointment, but that she "didn't notice". First sign that they have issues with their organizational skills. She started both of our soak offs, but worked on the other woman first. I sat with the foils on my nails for nearly half an hour. While I was waiting, another woman came in for her appointment, which AGAIN the staff claimed to have no record of. Overall, just a very disorganized place that doesn't seem to care about their customers' time. If you are so booked, don't offer to take people! And maybe remember to write down people's appointments? read more

Went with my cousin who was pleased with the service here previously. The pedicure was average of what you'd experience in the area. However the nail tech took a decent size chunk out of my little toe. It continued to bleed and she attempted to treat it. I was even more surprised when she charged me full price for the service. I should of said something about discounting the service but I felt it was common sense. I paid and it's disappointing considering my toe still hurts and looks infected. The prices are affordable and similar to other spas in the area. I have always loved my nails after a visit to Exotic and I have never had any problems. I wanted to make everybody aware of an unprofessional situation that happened over the weekend with my mother who had an appointment. My mom had appointment at 12:30 for a simple manicure a day prior to having to leave for out of state work training. Her and I went to Exotic Nails last week for pedicures at which times we made appointments for manicures as well. Hers was for Saturday June 8th and mine was for tomorrow, Thursday June 13th. My mom arrived to exotic nails on time for her Saturday appointment at 12:30. She signed in like customers do, and then she proceeded to sit there waiting, for half an hour while seven individuals came in AFTER her and were immediately seated and worked on. During this half hour, she was approached ONE time by a woman who said "Let me clean up and I will come get you"--she never did. At 1:00 my mom asked for an explanation as to why everyone coming in after her, were being taken before her when she had an appointment that she had been waiting the past half hour for. The gentlemen didn't have a clear answer so my mom left, angry that no one had taken her, when she had an appointment and that nobody cared enough to wonder as to why there was a woman sitting there waiting for a half hour. On her way out, three people were instantly seated for pedicures, so even if he thought she was there for a pedicure (which she wasn't) why were those three instantly sat when she had been waiting. Fast forward to today, Wednesday June 12th. I call Exotic nails to see what time my appointment is for tomorrow. The same gentleman who we scheduled our manicure with (last week) and who didn't take care of my mom, hesitated-repeatedly saying my name under his breath while he was clearly looking for me in their appointment book. He asked if I made my appointment over the phone or online--at that time I knew there was no appointment written down for me. When calling to inquire about my appointment, I didn't intend on bringing up the situation about my mom, but once he made it very clear I wasn't even in the appointment book for tomorrow (that he scheduled me into) it shocked me that if I hadn't called, I would have gone through the same situation my mom did days earlier. The one and only gentlemen there acted as if he had no recollection of any of this happening. I told him I understand that Saturdays are probably a very busy & hectic day for them, but nobody acknowledged my mom sitting there for half an hour yet let everybody go in front of her. He stated to me that he had other appointments in front of her..ok understandable that would cause her to be pushed back but why immediately take people who came in after her. He also started to state how my mom was in for a pedicure on Saturday --at which time I reminded him no, not a pedicure for we had just came in for a pedicure last week. And that if he would have checked the sign in book, he would have seen she was there for a manicure with an appointment. He tried telling me he tried to figure it out with my mom, and I straightened that out reminding him she approached him after a half hour--if he actually cared he wouldn't have let her sit there for so long. I don't even live in Ohio but I have made it a point to have my nails done by this company but due to their lack of professionalism and lack of sympathy and acting as though the situation did not happen, they will forever lose mine and my mothers business. I am not one to give a company a bad review, but this was to much nonsense to not make it known to people who are thinking about coming here. I DO NOT recommend. Give your money to a business that cares about their customers. read more
