I would rather someone I know looking after my daughter but moving to a new city, far away from family, the option had to be child care. Little Dove was a find. They recently opening a new level so have vacancies or a short waitlist, depending how old your child is. I surprised myself at how reluctant I was to leave my daughter in care but doesn't help when she whimpered as I left for the first few weeks. Saying that Hannah and Alexis (her primary carers) say she is doing really well for a first timer. The girls are great at letting me know how she has been through the day and will call for a midday update if I want one. They also upload her art (yes, art at 10 months old!) and pictures to the Universal Childcare website so I can see what she's doing through the day as can her extended family scattered all over the world. Hannah and Alexis are also great at asking me how she has been at home, how she slept, if she needs any extra attention etc which is reassuring as I know they're really clued in to the kids personal needs. There are four children to one care worker and the kids in the three nurseries play together in the common area. Though the nurseries are indoors Wood furniture, really plants, a sand pit make for a pretty good simulated outdoor experience. The older kids upstairs have a real outdoor play area as well as computers for learning activities. The wait list fee is $50 which is average. The enrollment fee is $250 which I believe is average. And there are two options - short ($120/day) and long day care ($130). The centre is open from 7.30am to 6.00pm.

The snacks given are fresh and healthy and the facilities are of high standard. The schedules for activities are well balanced to a childs needs and include free play, creative works, nap time and writing practices Furthermore, the place is also very safe and secure, there is a front gate to prevent children from exciting on their own and also has a smart entry system where you must be identified in order to enter. Most importantly, the staff are very kind and genuinely love their job. They will treat you and your child with the utmost respect and greet you with a smile. Conclusively, I highly recommend that if you need a safe and friendly environment for your child to stay in, this would be the place.

The only thing that keeps us from that final star is outdoor time as the facility is indoor only. However, as far as I hear little field trips are being planned so hopefully some fresh air adventures will be happening soon. Narellan Montessori has been a wonderful experience as a parent. From the first point of contact to…read morethe last day of my Son attending, it has been nothing but exceptional. As a first time parent, entrusting your child in the hands of others is a huge hurdle but I have been nothing but happy every day my Son attended Narellan Montessori. He grew a quick bond with his Educators which was very visible after the first 3 days, when he reached his arms out to the Educator my heart jumped with joy. That's exactly how you want your infant to react to the person who is responsible for them. The trust was formed instantly. My Son has grown so much since attending Narellan Montessori, the Educators have watched him go through his milestones along with us.  Had we not be moving interstate my Son would have stayed at Narellan Montessori till his first day at big school. I could write in detail the weekly negative experiences I had at this Day Facility, but when I dared mention it to the supervisor he used it against me and our family and called us whingers. For the record, sent our kids to other daycare's nearby and elsewhere and never complained as never had any issues. I start by questioning whether the early learning professionals can actually speak English and whether they have Australian accreditation. Lets say they do, when I speak to them I have no confidence this is the case. Lets focus on one incident, when I picked up my child he was soaking wet and though this happens, the lack of explanation was the worse part and including Montessori making excuses about how my child peed on themselves (though they didn't bother to change him) or it was my fault when I washed his hands? Accidents happen, but playing the blame game wrongly is the worse part and this was 'endless' including when my child came home with a bruise or had to tell me he was hit by another child, its the lack of explanation or knowing when it happens is the most concerning. Your child and your money, but I couldn't pull my child out fast enough and so glad I did!!! Loads of better choices nearby and well worth the wait.

Tresillian, oh my savior Tresillian. This place is a god send to all parents - in particular for…read moremothers who often get the night shift duty in the baby phase. I was referred here by my community nurse when my daughter was 6 months old and not sleeping well. It turned into a longer love affair with the place, for reasons, I had regular visits. The staff there - including Jan (a sleep nurse angel), Lyn (reception angel), Kerry (councilor angel), Mari and Margaret (the real 'rock' women of the world) - are like a community of nurtures that only a new mum suffering severe sleep deprivation could really appreciate. Apart from the Tresillian angels frequenting the halls at Wollstonecraft the other thing I love about this place is the old building. It has so much character and charm - I often imagine when I arrive being a new mum 200 years ago visiting and having an equally warm and welcomed feeling. I went there for a day treatment and the advice I got turned my baby into a hourly waker to a less frequent waker with a solid day sleep routine. I can't rave about it enough nor can those in my mother's group who have also used the service. The Wollstonecraft Tresillian has an occasional day care for those mum's with 0-14 month year olds who just need a break or have some errands they'd like to run. It's not day care you can use on a weekly basis per se. They're open from 9.30 to 2.30pm Wednesday to Friday and it costs about $55 but this may vary for a number of reasons.
