I came to K2 Academy specifically for their SOAR Adaptive Gymnastics program because my 3-year-old son has autism. Unfortunately, my experience with the program director, Shelby, was extremely disappointing. It took her two weeks to call me back after my initial inquiry (she was on vacation), which might have been fine if it hadn't been followed by repeated lapses in communication. She promised to call me back and didn't, and when she canceled my son's first official session just two hours before, she only sent a text and email. She never confirmed I'd seen the message, and by the time I arrived with my kids, it was too late. My son, who struggles with sudden changes, had a meltdown. Backup staff could have easily prevented this. After my friend spoke to a manager, the owner called me the next day and promised Shelby would contact me to reschedule. That call never happened--this was even before we hosted my son's birthday party at K2. To be clear: Bailey, who led our trial session, was amazing. She took time to work with my son at his pace and made him feel comfortable. The birthday party staff were also friendly and helpful, even with a small hiccup of my son's name being spelled wrong on the cake. Bottom line: I'd recommend K2 for parties, but I would not recommend the SOAR Adaptive program. The lack of communication and follow-through from Shelby made it clear to me that this program is not managed in a way that meets the needs of autistic children and their families. read more

We decided to have my 11 year old granddaughters bday party here. I was pretty stressed out about it because there were many other events and activities going on in our lives at the same time. I was running around gathering and ordering things for her party like a chicken without a head. However, when the big party day arrived the ladies at K2 took over and decorated, entertained, fed and watered the kids which left me time to chat with the parents of our guests. These gals were wonderful. I would recommend this place very highly. read more

This is pertaining to their ninja class that my little nephew attends. The instructors are both attentive and informative to all of his special needs and make sure to keep us in the loop on all of his progress. They help him build more of his upper body strength due to his lower body being so weak. I notice especially that they never make him feel different and he loves seeing everyone there each week. Would not recommend the summer camp for anyone whose child may be neurodivergent. Based on our experience, they did not appear to be equipped or trained to work with children that are not, in the owner's words "compliant." Edited to add: I have no idea who you are Sarah B. I'm giving three stars for the actual gymnastic classes, because my daughter took them from the age of five until the age of eight. She also went to summer camp almost every year however, that is where my complaints begin. The problem is they hire children to take care of children. Because they don't have children of their own, and don't understand compassion and reasoning, they talk down to them and call them names and dismiss them. My daughter complained consistently about the way that counselor is handled situations. And was constantly told "you're fine" when a kid was standing on her chest or slinging her to the ground. I probably wouldn't recommend the summer count because I don't feel like these teenagers can handle this many kids at once for that length of time. read more

My daughter started taking gymnastics here a couple months ago and we are enjoying it so far! She's almost two so it's more of an exploring and tumbling class but she loves it! Parking can get tricky if you get there at a certain time. Classes are getting out and people are picking up from the school in the evenings. I usually just wait a few minutes and spots open up. Only compliant, they really don't greet you when you walk in, it's super busy and lots going on but a "hello" every once in awhile would be nice. read more

Had a party here for my Daughters 3rd Birthday this past weekend, and the party is the talk of the town! Everyone enjoyed themselves so much, even the parents. Everyone wants to now enroll their child and now try gymnastics. The staff was so helpful and they exceeded beyond my expectations as far as helping guide the party with my wife's direction, cleanup, taking gift down to the car, and etc. It was so much fun, my son wants to have his party there! read more

The new building is great! Huge improvement and worth the wait. My son is in all boys class. They stretch with all the students before workout. I want to take advantage of one of the parents night, where they let you drop kid off and they eat and pay there on a Saturday night while parents have a couple hours of alone time. I Have noticed this location caters more to the girls here but this is just a reward for my son for being a good kid. Staff are nice and very attentive. I've never seen any of the coaches with their cell phone, which impressed me. I started with k2 after seeing it on Groupon. We've been going ever since. The classic in the winter was great and he loved his medal. I would prefer his name on it though. Besides that I like this place and the second story to watch your kid from up top. read more

Absolutely the worst summer camp experience. Completely overpriced. The water activity day was just a counselor spraying the kids with a water hose. No water slides or any "water activities" at all not even water balloons or even a sprinkler. For the field trip on Friday campers played two rounds of bowling and k2 did not even splurge on gutter bumpers for the elementary school age children. No wonder when you cancel a session you still have to pay a cancellation fee. Nobody in their right mind would voluntarily pay these outrageous camp prices for such a low grade attempt of activities this camp puts on. read more

Yesterday we celebrated my nephew's 5th birthday at K2 Academy of Kids Sports. This place and the staff were amazing. The only reason they didn't get five stars was because it felt like the party room didn't have any air conditioning. Other than that... I have no complaints. The staff... Omg... These young ladies were remarkable. They assisted in getting things out of the car, the set up, the interacted with the kids during the scheduled play time, the served all of the guest food, desserts and drinks, and clean up. They even kept track of the gift listing for "Thank you notes." I've been to several jumping/tumble type establishments and I've never seen a staff like this. The entire establishment was very clean including the restrooms. I only wish the air was working properly. I would definitely host my children's party here. read more

My daughter was one of the first gymnasts to walk through the doors at K2. The moment we met Kay (the owner) we knew this was the place for us! K2 Academy has proven a fantastic place for kids of all ages, abilities and interests. Update: I am updating my review from my original I posted 2 weeks ago. The owner of the K2 Academy called me, profusely apologized for my experience. It showed that she cares about the service her staff provides and she truly wanted to try to make this right for us. She did her homework (knowing about our daughter's age and etc) and I could tell she carefully read my review and checked things with her staff beforehand. No arguing; she just listened which surprisingly is so hard for many business owners. She did everything right for a business owner who just got a negative review online and it convinced me to try them out again. The owner offered to make some changes on their roster for my daughter who prefers female coaches and recommended a coach for us to come back and try out. The coach was amazing. (None of the coaches during the timeslot took the kids to water fountain. I don't know what it was for last time) The coach was very good with kids and she paid attention to all kids. I wish our first time was with her. My daughter was nothing but smiles and she came out saying she had so much fun after class . So, we signed her up. I plan to update this review after a few months of taking lessons, hopefully to better star. Original: I took my toddler daughter for a free trial lesson for gymnastics at K12. I knew them by attending a few birthday parties there and the location is perfect for us, so it's a bummer, but I ultimately decided to take my business to The Little Gym in Spring. The front staff was very nice and no hard feelings there. The teacher who taught the class was a substitute teacher, so I do not know how the official teacher is like, but I noticed right away the sub teacher was verbally rough. No profanity or anything, but just not very kids friendly. I do not believe she is trained to teach children. I almost said something to her when my child who is the first timer just trying it out couldn't follow her lead and stayed on 1 spot, her reaction was physically grabbing my daughter's shoulders to move her to where she should be while saying "hey, you! right here!!!!!" It was not violent, but I was shocked they think that's ok when their business is involving children. I could have let that by since she's a sub, but at the end, 4-5 kids in the same class were told to do a few different things and take turns. My daughter was at the end of the line and the sub teacher could not pay attention to all the kids. They ran out of time before my daughter, the last in line completed all the activities. Of course, my daughter wanted to try all of the activities, but as I stated above, she was removed to line up to get some stamps or something. Half into the class, I actually signed her up and registered my credit card and everything. But, more and more toward the end of the class, I started regretting. When my daughter came out of class, she stated the class was scary (probably because of the way the teacher was speaking) and that she wanted to try the pull up bar (the last item she didn't get to try). I asked the front staff if she can try it just a little because the teacher didn't let her, the answer was no. I understand, so I asked for all my paperwork back. Maybe the "real" teachers there are very qualified. Maybe we were unlucky to come across the inexperienced teachers taking turns. But, I followed my gut feeling and decided they're not for our daughter. Also, when they took kids to the adult height water fountain, the teacher was not paying attention to the kids while chitchatting with other teachers, so a few kids were struggling to go up on a stool to drink water. The sub teacher noticed only when I almost reached my daughter to help. I second other reviews saying lack of supervision is an issue. read more

I enrolled my toddler there for the summer and did not complete her classes due to poor supervision. The coaches were 98% teenagers and acted as such. They did not supervise the kids as they should have or help them when they needed it. This was a complaint to the owner, staff repeatedly and wasn't resolved. The last straw was when my 3yr old fell off a rock wall from the top onto her back all while her "coach" was supposed to be attentive! PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD THERE IT IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE AND HAZARD!! I have other complaints regarding the classes but I would be typing for a day... read more

My twin girls have only been going to Summer Camp for two weeks, but they got acclimated the first day. The staff was helpful and non-dismissive of my many questions They informed me to bring lunch, a jacket, nap mat, and water bottle. I love that the pre-k class gets the academic setting and also some structured play in the gym & unstructured play outside. Also weekly, the kids have snow cones & water day as an extra bonus! K2 is a fantastic facility. Our daughters attend preschool and summer camp and have a blast. We have had 2 birthday parties there and they were a hit! The coaching staff are positive and upbeat and it's all about having fun and doing your best. Open play is s fantastic way to play with your little one and burn off some energy. They also donated a free birthday party for my daughter's school fundraiser. I volunteered for a free parents night out for students with special needs and was so impressed with the love and understanding they showed all the kids. They are very disorganized and children do not learn much. We had transfered from cypress academy looking for smaller classes and running away from the smell but we are going back. My daughter did not learn anything in the year she was there and in fact regressed. The mini-olympics was a joke, the instructors had no idea what they were doing, made my child fall on her face and back twice. Run away! read more

K2 Academy is GREAT! The staff is amazing and do a great job with the kids. My daughter is in tumbling classes there and has had several instructors as she has moved up from level 1 to level 3 and each instructor has taken the time to give each child in her groups one on one instruction and attention helping them to all to master their tumbling tricks. They are encouraging to the kids without pushing too hard and always give high fives for good work. I recommend K2 academy for anyone looking for tumbling / gymnastic classes. read more

I have an athletic, energetic, fun-loving 8 year old who was seeking an exciting place to be for the summer. I searched long and hard for a place that would meet out needs. My search brought me to K2 Academy of Kids Sports. I thought I did all of the proper diligence a parent should do before enrolling a child. Unfortunately, I could not prepare myself for the dangerous environment K2 promotes. This place of business allowed a complete stranger to conduct an interview with my child - without notification to me - without my permission!!!!! I was notified of the encounter by my child. She was very scared and confused. She thought she had done something wrong. I immediately called K2 for clarification. Courtney, the summer program director, attempted to defend the actions of the academy, citing a false policy that does not require parent notification. This is now a potential ongoing legal matter. Based on this very traumatizing event, I would advise any parent NOT to send your children to this place. K2 WILL NOT PROTECT YOUR CHILD FROM OUTSIDERS.
